  1. Hey Bueller I am sending the ESC back to modelsport, fantastic young man i spoke to on the phone advised me of a couple of things to try and eliminate whether it was the reciever or the ESC, its the latter! Until I get a replacement, I am off the road
  2. its not my lipos, guess thats a good thing. My fan on the ESC is no longer spinning when i turn the truck on & the receiver is making a funny noise (high pitched squeel) nightmare! ESC cut off is level 5 (3.2v)
  3. i was thinking of putting the extra shocks on myself, you beat me to it! I fixed the damage, only cost me £3 for the pin and spacers. EDIT- Grrr! After fixing it and then driving for all of 5 mins i have completely lost all power! no steering or throttle response! i have the batteries on charge right now, hope it was just that and not a faulty ESC otherwise its a phone call to modelsport in the morning!
  4. Hey JayJ its all good man, i am a bit gutted about that snapped pin as i have not had a chance to repair the damage yet, especially with all this nice weather we have been having! i have broke out the nitro truck the last few days! I will repairing the damage to the G3 on my day off this week and also going to addressing my steering issues, i just noticed i have a lot of toe in, might be the reason i need about a mile to turn! regards
  5. I should have filmed it really.. I was driving it up a steep bank and launching it, no problems doing that but when i deceided to drive it off the bank one time i took a nice long run up, it hit a bump in the ground and launched itself off the bank and flipped and cart-wheeled across the field, the final flip resulted in a "CRUNCH" and i ran over to inspect the damage. Luckily only damage was a snapped pin and some missing spacers. no idea how much the pin will be to replace, do u think i could claim under warranty? LOL
  6. Happy Birthday bueller, if its any consolation i done this after 15mins of play this afternoon
  7. LOL nice shell!! what is it? I think i prefer the original one if i am honest. Good Job all the same!
  8. so all 3 of us have a hobbywing programmer yes? even tho it is just rebranded, could it be that our ESC's will only work with an ACE RC card?? might be just me being silly! anyways, I have received the first damage to my truck today, only cosmetic really, I have a nice teeth mark in my windscreen from where my dog decided to give chase and attack when the battery died!! I guess thats what i get for chasing her around with the truck earlier in the day. Looks like its going to rain any second now, so thats the end of fun for today!
  9. you have the USB one dont you? i was reading on the interweb that you should update the firmware on it before using it, maybe thats the problem? hope you havent got a dud one! Im a miffed at why i can not get past step 5 using the program card, been looking on thweb for a solution but found nothing yet How can i get my G3 turning more sharply? i have tried adjusting the toe out on the front, just waitin for the lipos to recharge before testing it out!
  10. hey JayJ If i could have saved £150, mine would be blue too its a great truck! I have had mine out today, its sooo much fun! My hobby wing program card came today but like Bueller, i am unable to get past step 5 WTF???
  11. I am hoping my hobbywing program card comes 2moro, i found one on ebay! hope it works!! I took my G3 out for a spin earlier on an empty field and gave it some welly, my word she flies! The only thing i can see that would need addressing is the WIDE turning circle and the ballooning tyres, other than that its a great truck! I hit a bump in the field and caught my first air! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO Heres is a pic of my repair to the pin problem, hopefully it wont happen again!! edit- i have just checked the truck over and nothing to report back! yay i am going to a BMX dirt track 2moro! hope it doesnt rain!
  12. I have the ET0400 in my buggy, only been a few days and tonight the ESC caught fire!
  13. ^^Cool^^ After seeing that, I am taking my wheelie bar off!!!
  14. LOL! thats true! mine body is covered in grass from the back garden I think mine is better in Red Got the pin fixed today and the CVD heat shrink wrapped, so hopefully it wont happen again!! Dont forget to threadlock everything before taking it out for a run!
  15. Hi All I am new to the RC scene, I always wanted one but couldnt afford one as a kid! I own a Thunder Tiger MT4 G3 & a TT Phoenix ST II that i have just upgraded to brushless motor and esc after the stock one caught fire on a bmx dirt track
  16. no probs, have fun! BTW natasha, your profile says your a man!
  17. The rear sway bar was already fitted on mine and i fitted the front one, it came in the box but the manual says its an optional extra! No idea what beadlock wheels are, im a newb to the RC world!
  18. a 15ft backflip? get that on video! I have a bmx dirt track close to me that i am planning on visiting this week! I thought about a temp fix with an allen key but didnt want to bodge it up as its a new truck, i shall get the pin 2moro hopefully and be back in action! Sooooo, who is going to start a "MT4 G3 owners club" thread?
  19. WooHoo! Welcome to the Club! i dribbled Stella over my keyboard but luckily refrained from spitting it on my screen by holding back my laughter, haha HPI socks!!
  20. LOL! Erm, its the cvd that goes to the wheels, heres a pic!! http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/850/imag0009on.jpg/
  21. it is just the pin that sits in the diff cup that gone, not a scratch or mark on anything else! The really unlucky thing is that i have become a magician! I had a replacement pin i found in a box of bits but i pushed it through the hole and it disappeared! i have searched the area i was working in and also i had my finger underneath the hole i was pushing the pin into, **** KNOWS what happened there! now you see it, now you dont! haha i did not threadlock this area at all hindsight eh? I am still running on my first battery charge & have already been told by Wifey that "i am not allowed to drive THAT truck in the garden, its tearing chunks out of the grass!" I just grinned.
  22. thanks, i shall hunt one down. I have had some success with using the program card i have but it doesnt have as much control over the esc as the proper one! on a side-note - i am unhappy, i only had 3mins of drive time and the steel pin has come loose and lost from the rear universal shaft suprisingly the grub screw is still there, just no pin. - part number is confusing bcos in the destruction manual the front assembly of the truck is pictured but titled REAR assembly and vice versa. depending on which diagram i am looking at the part numbers are PD2367 or PD05-0017 - fact of the matter is nothign is broken, just a missing pin! Grrrrrrrr Grrrr
  23. Today has been amazing. I finally got the G3 running in the back garden, nothing more than a few figure of 8's and a couple of high speed passes and wheelies. I didnt even get long enough to drain the battery before it started raining heavily total run time so far is 12 mins, every second of this I had a cheesy grin plastered on my face. Last night I thread-locked everything after installing the wheelie bar and front sway bar, I went to my LHS earlier to collect an Etronix Photon brushless motor & ESC for my other buggy and also picked up the following for the G3: 5 in 1 Intelligent DC Balancer Charger 0.1-5a (Lipro Plus5) DC 12v 18a switching power supply 2 x 7.4 2S (cont 40C Burst 70C) 5000mah lipo's The brushless ESC i got for my buggy had a program card with it, i am going to try and set the ESC with that later/2moro. I shall let you know how i get on! heres hoping for no rain 2moro!
  24. Its inside Kingsway Upholsterers!! The first time i went i could not find it and ended up walking up and down Lower Dock Street and had almost given up until i looked INSIDE number 64..
