  5. mine shiftsjust got a .32 (5.2cc)force engine broke in on 20% oh my god fitted a 16 tooth first gear and a 21 tooth second gear to cluch bell - if it had wings it would fly might need to upgrade brakes now it dont like stopping!!! it is a four wheel drive but when you accelerate the back drops quite alot and the front lifts so i have to change the shock oil got 100wt in at the moment. but what a great car
  6. the idle screw is set at 1/16 gap the high speed needle is set at 3 turns out from fully closed the low speed needle is set flush to carb body if your engine is a force .21
  7. i found the rex x to be a great car had alot of crashes hardly ever breaks very well made had to upgrade the wheels found thay cracked easy got a set of medivel pros solid dish wheels with hobao angled spiked tyres stoped that problem!!!! great for short grass i have noticed that all the web sites that stock rex x parts have put them on sale are thay getting rid of the rex x !!!!
  8. be careful!!! when i fitted my twinspeed i had the car out twice then snaped the conrod (knacked the engine)i am thinking of going back to single speed i was running it on grass that was nearly flat. it does clearly state on road use only!!!! i found it impossible to adjust the two speed clutch because u cant hear it change gear. it did make a bit of difference not much i think u have to upgrade the gears on cluchbell as dont think u can get different main gears only 45 teeth & 50 teeth gears that are plastic!!! the twin speed puts alot more pressure on the engine when running on rough ground because of the higher gear i just got a bigger engine and upgraded the gears on the clutch bell not had a chance to run it yet
  9. thanks gents looked on all sites none state that the part would fit a rex x having problems knowing what part would correspond to fit my car. any ideas what other companys parts would fit a rex x

  13. when i purchased the two speed kit it came with plastic gears can i replace with metal gears. i have looked on net not found anything ANY IDEAS ANYONE where i could get them(if u can)
  14. it sure does. i was recently told to put two springs on to make it more stable would this be ok
  15. i have left all that loose my manifold goes up at a angle plus the new engine sits a bit higher than the old one
  16. got to fit the engine first!!! i need to line the exhaust up! to get a good fit
  17. it is a great buggy not had many problems with it. i recently knacked the .21 force engine just got i new one from the states a .32 force big block engine(very cheap)awaiting parts for fitting http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k151/biffa1/mycar006.jpg
  18. it did change a bit a mate of mine has a hobao tq sport with a.28mach engine he used to pull away from me start to finish but i can keep up with him now it is hard to judge when the second gear comes in so it is hard to adjust ? if the second gear is coming in too late the engine will rev high for longer(more stress on engine?)could this be the cause of my snapped conrod? when i bought the two speed it "stated" not for offroad use? is flat grass ok? what is the best all round .21 engine about for about £100.00 to £150.00
  19. thanks for your reply i had been racing on grass with a few little jumps when it went? i can repair my .21 engine for around £60.00 or get a new one for £99.99 i think to get a new engine of the same kind then i have some spares and no worry that i have put it back together properly? i have had problems with my first nitro car when putting in a new piston&liner the "g"snap pin kept coming out on scoring the piston? on gx12 engine a mate has a savage you can hear the gear change but i cant on my rex x is this ok?
  20. I RECENTLY PUT A TWO SPEED CONVERSION ON MY REX X AND I CANT HEAR A CHANGE IN GEAR IS THIS NORMAL? I USED IT TWICE THEN THE CONROD SNAPPED. IS THE TWIN SPEED AT FAULT? MY REX X HAS A FORCE .21 ABC ENGINE SHALL I REPAIR IT OR UPGRADE TO A MACH .28 ANY SUGGESTIONS?
