  1. Hi guys, just ordered my boat and looking for what else I need to maintain it and what to check before I run it please. Thinking to check connectors, watertest it in the bath, make sure that the shaft is lubed properly. Any other bits that need to be done before I put her in the water. I've seen the dynamic grease gun one which is around £18, seems a bit steep, would there anything, maybe more generic, which does the same job please, have looked at previous threads suggesting 'red and tacky' but those threads are 10 years old. Is ordinary marine grease too thick? To lubricate around the motor etc, should I use 3 in 1 oil/ singer oil? To protect I saw a chap on youtube whom uses CRC heavy duty corrosion inhibitor, doesn't seem to be available in the UK. Would there be any alternative that you use please.
  2. I see, they seem quite slow though, do they make a fast one with variable speed via the trigger, I have a cheap black and decker one from ages ago but it's slow and doesn't have variable speed so is of no use, just ended up using the big drill which was faster but had variable speed and put it on the lowest torque setting and finished off by hand
  3. I was thinking to limit spending to around £70 ish, but if the right tool can be had for less then of course would be happy to spend less. Main use will be for rc work, would like something very fast to save time, but with variable speed so I can slow down when screwing in so that it doesn't strip
  4. Thanks for your replies, just trying to get my head around impact vs hammer vs drill/driver. So if I understand correctly impact : has the ability to drive much harder and is not good for delate screwing and as such is going to strip threads with aplomb. Hammer : goes in and out like a hammer which is suited to concrete and not for rc (although they have versions which are switchable between hammer and regular mode) Regular drill/drive : will have an adjustable clutch and is what we want for rc so we do not strip screws. EDIT And then there is the electric screwdriver, which is a ???
  5. Wow, that looks like the real deal but price is out of my reach, was hoping for something up to around £70 ideally. Would there be anything similar to that in my price range, not planning to use it for much other than rc as I have a cousin whom has the heavy duty stuff if I ever require stuff for house work.
  6. On the hunt for a new drill. I would like something that is very fast but with variable speed via the trigger so I can slow down when getting towards the end while keeping it on low torque so I do not strip anything and then hand tighten after. Ideally if it has an external battery and led light (although not a big deal if it doesn't). Looking forward to your suggestions
  7. Thanks, running very well in the video. Which rc car is it?
  8. Wow that lunchbox reminds me of my old tamiya clodbuster. Looks like fun. Was hoping to have something a little more manoeuvrable, how would something like an arrma kraton hold up to sand?
  9. Looking to buy an rc that will hold up well to use to bashing on seaside beach sand and sand dunes. Let me know your suggestions please. I currently have an xmaxx, baja, mt4g3, axial yeti xl, kyosho mp6 nitro, but I'm currently based in the USA for a bit so won't have access to them and will bring whatever I purchase back home, so something to compliment the rest of them would be ideal
  10. Looking for a drill bit set for hex/allen key style fitments, would you have any UK based and reasonably priced suggestions please. So far I have found these two options but shipping is from abroad and one is quite pricey HUDY RC Car Performance Tools : https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VR4ZV7U/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1MPVD0JEX00RP&coliid=I26MKQI0MYNTW8 DEWALT DW2068 Hex Insert Bit Set, 9-Piece : https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/DEWALT-DW2068-9-PC-Hex-Insert-Bit-Set/691447833
  11. Hi all, I purchased a thunder Tiger mt4g3 and would like to seek recommendations for batteries that would work for it please. I noted from a Previous post on msuk that the battery tray dimensions are L: 5.43" | 138 mm (147mm can fit when trim the tray) W: 2.01" | 51 mm H: 1.93" | 49 mm I am running a traxxas 8s xmaxx and also a arrma kraton aswell, so was hoping to use these 4s packs which I could then use in all the csrs: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-compact-5800mah-4s-60c-lipo-pack.html but the dimensions are : 152x46xcars which is too long. I do not know if there would be a way to fit these, if so please let me know I have identified some potential batteries from the dimensions should fit and am wondering if others have had any problems with them or if it should be smooth sailing : turnigy blue 5s145x50x41 : https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-5000mah-5s-30c-lipo-pack.html turnigy blue 4s 143 x 51 x 38mm: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/multistar-lihv-high-capacity-6s-8000mah-multi-rotor-lipo-pack-with-xt-90.html turnigy heavy duty 4s (L)144 x (W)51 x (H)39mm : https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-heavy-duty-5000mah-4s-60c-lipo-pack-w-xt-90.html gens ace 4s 132x43x33 : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gens-Ace-14-8V-5200mAh-4S1P-40C-Lipo-Battery-Akku-Lipo-For-1-8-1-10-RC-Auto-Car-/282625360011?hash=item41cdc8c08b:g:70QAAOSwOsBZoQ7E
