I was looking at the cheap chinese MG995 servos but wasnt too sure how good/reliable they would be, even for just bashing, so ordered a used HiTec HS-645MG servo from eBay and Kimbrough KP201 mid size servo saver with holes from CML. Hopefully they will be strong enough.

Just managed to strip two standard plastic servos, after bashing in garden with quite a few rolls. Its certainly fun, plenty wheelies, but doesnt handle that great even with 4 inch traxxas shocks on extended mounts. Maybe not got it set up right yet... 2 battery packs affect handling, especially with second one beiong strapped up high. Therefore after a new servo and servo saver, as wasnt using one. I kinda knew the stock servo wouldnt last, but didnt think it would give up that quick. Can anyone point me in direction of a suitable servo, could I stick with plastic geared one if using a servo saver? Or is a metal geared one a must? Which servo saver is suitable? I only heard of Kimbrough ones but would another make such as Traxxas be suitable?

I've been looking and reading about these "B6 lipo" chargers, various versions on eBay. They all appear the same more or less from the outside, but a bit worried about whats inside and long term reliability. Hobbyking seem to haze zero stock at this time. I was thinking about getting some Turnigy lipos from them which fit the Tamiya chassis and the Accucel charger. I've also got side tracked as I went into the Modelsport shop today (up here looking at places to live) to get some nitro fuel and had a look at the Slash 4x4. Very tempting! Maybe I should get rid of my Tamiya collection and get one instead. Or get rid of my Savage. Or both. Should I stick with my Savage nitro truck with all its hassle and go electric/brushelss/lipo? As we are moving house later this year (Kent to nth Yorks) and maybe having to rent initially, a collection of several rc cars and bits could be seen as an unnecessary luxury. Maybe its about time to rationalise my collection. Time to see what they may fetch on eBay and the For Sale forum here.

Think I'm getting there, so if I get the Core RC UDC30 charger, use my Pro Peak 20A PSU as input, will I be able to charge 2 lipo 3000mah packs in series at 1C in about 1 hour? Are the leads for charging 2 packs at once included or do I need to get these separately? Are there any pros/cons for charging 2 packs in series or parallel? I can only think that paralled means you need a charger with greater Amp output than 5A to keep charge times down.

Pro Peak Power Supply 0-20A. Is this Ok to use with the Core UDC20?

Best sunny day so far this year and got my cars out and played with them with the kids. But the NiMh packs (GP3900) take too long to charge (Duratrax Piranha) and some are not holding their charge now. So am seriously thinking about getting some lipos, but this technology is all new to me. Have been reading related threads but cant answer all my questions. First question - which lipos will fit the following Tamiya chassis - Terra Scorcher, Rising Storm, Baja Champ, Wild Dagger. These cars have an oval hole in their chassis (apart from Rising Storm). It seems that most lipos have a rectangular profile, so may not fit. I was thinking about Turnigy lipos, as they appear to be value for money. Second question - which low voltage cut off device is suitable, as I have read that this is essential for lipos. All cars are running Mtroniks ESCs with brushed motors. Not too sure how the LVC is fitted. Third question - I know this gets asked alot, which battery charger, for less than

Does a 550 motor such as from HPI GT or Traxxas Titan need modifying to fit in a Wild Dagger or Twin Detonator? Is it just the shaft which is too long and needs shortening? Looking to make it go faster at 14.4V with Mtroniks Super E ESC. Anyone have any intructions for this ESC as none came with it. Just assume it works like all the other Mtroniks ESCs. Can it also run at 7.2V without any mods? Hope someone knows. Thanks.

Where can I find some suitable new wings for both a Tamiya Baja King and Rising Storm? Can amyone recommend a make and some UK sites? I've tried repairing them but they have split beyond repair and I dont want to buy a new Tamiya body just to get a wing.
