  1. Glad to see someone having a bit of fun for speed on the cheap.

On the body front, I might be able to help a bit. I completed my uni project a few years ago on the aerodynamics of RC cars and it's a tricky old thing as the scale of them ruins everything!

I'd stay away from trying to do underbody aerodyanmics personally. Get the balance right with good front aero to stop it lifting, and you can use pretty flat shaped aerofoils at the back to keep the balance of downforce at the back for little penalty in drag. Sticking on a flat floor is generally not just as simple as doing it! Admitedly i was doing a short wide car, you're doing a long narrow one, but underbody aero is the most difficult thing to get working right. And if it's wrong it causes a lot of greif.

The simplest way to do it all of us at ROSSA has found is just to leave the back of the shell as open as possible.

Attached my project if you want a ganders. It shows how easy it was to get a splitter and spoiler working, but soon as I chucked on a flat floor and a diffuser things start to get complicated. Rather than go on about it here I'll let you read it if you want  :D

  2. Bit of a clearout...

Set of GRP 1/8 Buggy Tyres. Pre-mounted from the factory. Really good wheels and tyres, will survive all the brushless antics you can throw at them.

    Set of EDS Drivers.

1.5mm has the tip snapped, but handle is good for replacement tip

2.5mm - Grub screw which holds the handle in is cracked.

Other two are fine. Tips on the rest are good too.

Very hard wearing drivers. (I snapped the 1.5mm by using it as a lever....)

    Battery Boxes.

I've 3D printed these over the years for various projects.

The Two blue ones are sized for a Hong Nor X1 CRT - However the hole pattern is for an extended IRC Chassis.

Very sturdy boxes. Have the loops for the velcro printed on too, with hexes cut in for captive M3 Nylocks nuts for a flush fit.

Handy if you are needing a battery box to mount somewhere, just need to drill the holes to match.

    159x72mm Internal Dimensions

174x83mm External. Not including velcro loops

16mm Internal depth, 25mm Total height

    £7 each posted.

    More Battery Boxes

Again printed for a project. Idea with these was to sit on aluminium off the side of a buggy chassis.  Four captive m3 nuts to secture to chassis. Two slots in one end for the lipo leads. Loops on the side for velcro.

    153x54mm Internal Dimensions

    188x64mm External, including the base.

    50mm Total depth

  3. TP Power 4D 2200KV CM

Used for about 20 speed passes over the past 3 years.

Pulled it out for 2 runs this year and pulled 136mph on a car that has sat for a year.

Few marks on the can but nothing major.

I think I'll probably get one of these. Just deciding how I should wire it up to get 11v into the tonegawa and 8.4 into the receiver. I'm guessing the simplest way is two BECs.

I've ran a 2s LiPo on it and never felt the servo was down on power, and that was with 15s of Lipo's on board too.

2s Should be fine for bashing, and it saves all the extra electronics for various voltages.

A 4PLS. I read that it sometimes takes a little fiddling to get it to all run but that's no bother. Got a few different servos to pair with it if needed.  Do you run on 2 or 3S? If 3S, I assume you run a BEC?

I'm runnign a 4PLS with a Tonie servo that totally does not belong to @Rover Man .... Whack it in analog and it's grand.

Never had any issues with it in my 5ive. Had to swap sides from the setup Dave had it in as my motor was on the other side but made one to a similar idea and been solid.

  6. Hello, I picked up a Turnigy large scale servo, but it came with no horns.

I know it is 23t spline, but 99% sure there are a couple of different sizes. I can find plenty of 23t on MS and the likes but sure they are for the smaller KO/Sanwa stuff.

I reckon something like this is right, however would like to check before wasting a tenner!

  7. Couple of Colt Porshce 962 1/10 Body shells, to suit 200mm TC.

Bought these for a project a while ago but never got round to it.

There are two shells in the bag. Bag is unopened. Last pic is just to give an idea once painted.

They're $15 from RC Mart each + postage.

  8. 840KV Tenshock X501s Large Scale Motor.

Castle Blower included. Part of the case has been cut away to accomodate the terminals, as the blower is the full legnth of the motor.

Bought new by myself. It has always ran on 8s, however only in a 1/8th scale car, so it has never been pulling along a heavy load, and has had the blower on it from new.

Only been in a car once and used sparingly, as can be seen by how clean the shaft is from pinion marks.

6.5mm Castle bullet connectors fitted to the motor.

£85 Including all fees and postage.
