  1. I've tried HPI T-Drifts and Pro Compound from Racing Punk. But the ones I like the best on rough tarmac are the ones that came with my D3 from RCGeeks. They seem to suit my style and chassis (D3 running 50/50).
  2. Steve.............. I've nearly got you up to date. Just need to get rid of that box with the two prongs sticking out of it! Dirt........... Any progress with yours? I've been busy building a XV-01 and getting my TT-01R sorted so haven't looked in to your CS situation. Hot Wheels............ I've found the stock tyres the best on tarmac. Tried T-drifts and Pro compound from racing punk and both weren't that good on my setup but that's not to say the wont work for others.
  3. Dirt...................I'm thinking how to get round your problem. I ran my belt on the tooth side and as long as its not mega tight it should be ok.
  4. Hi Dirt. . . . . . . . . hang in there mate. Had a look at mine and can see with a rear ratio of 13 to 30 at the rear why the belt is to slack! If you want 1.27CS you could try this Front 38>13 Centre 13>22 Rear 22>30 (I think that's what you mean above). Not sure if the centre belt will stretch but if it does it'll take the whip out! I going to start using 1.54CS and force myself to learn lol.
  5. About time! Base on the fact that I'll probably be fixing it ............... D3 as I have spares
  6. I'd say D3. Had one for a while and love it. Bought mine from RCMart as well as various hopups. Never had a problem and usually only take 7-8 days. RCGeeks keep various parts. The D3 on the RCMart website is only
  7. Mr Gimp..........I don't know of any car that can lap West London as quick as your drifter!
  8. I tend to run the Sakura or T-drifts on tarmac. I would stay clear of the cheap tat on Ebay like DemonModel drift tyres from China.
  9. Dirt.....glad to help. I run the standard 80t spur and an 18t pinion on a 9.0t motor. I had a 13.5t but felt it was a little lacking in power. But remember I'm running 50/50 and the 13.5t may well suit CS/your style. The 9.0t does give a nice long sweeping drift on full beans lol. When you fit the 13t pulley at the rear you may have to run the rear tensioner on the tooth side of the belt. As long as it's not to tight it's fine. You can also play with the bearing holders to get a little extra tension. Once you've got the chassis set up to suit you you'll love it. Hammy looks like he's got it drifting nice in the video above.
  10. The Sakura zero centre belt tensioner works. It wont make the belt tight but stops it bouncing around. Mine never fitted 100% straight so I fitted two buy drilling the top deck. I haven't replaced the centre belt yet! I too found the standard 2.14CS a bit to much. You only need to change the rear belt pulleys. 1.56 = 16 > 30 1.27 = 13 > 30 I run 13 > 38 to give me 50/50 Get the genuine 3racing one way Part No. SAK-D324/PK. Don't buy the cheap Chinese rubbish! The plastic rear axle works fine. I'd only upgrade to the ally one for a bit of bling. I have also fitted the wide angle driveshaft's and steering linkage. I found the standard shafts made the wheels chatter on full lock. Mine deffo gave me a little more lock and I also cut the little nobble of the back of the arm (where the arm hits the C hub) to get a little more. Hope this helps.
  11. nick-b.........Been drifting with my D3 for about 18 months and love it. Tried it 2.14 and 1.5 CS but couldn't get on with it. Converted it to 50/50 and it drifts nice. I would suggest getting the Sakura Zero centre belt tensioner to take some of the whip out of the belt.
  12. Yoshi....You've got the idea. The pulley seems to run fine on the tooth side of the belt.
  13. Yoshi........16t down to the 30t on the rear belt. I just put the tensioner down and looped the belt under it. When put the pulley teeth into the cs app it was around 1.5'ish. Been running fine for ages.
  14. I've run my D3 Standard 2.14 and 50/50. I've settled on near as damn it 1.5cs. Very easy to do by only chaging a rear gear to 16t. You dont need new belts.
  15. Hello All, Does anyone know the part numbers for the original foam tyres in the Ferrari 643 F104-w kit? The instruction give you every part number except the tyres! Please help! Thanks Norm.
  16. Hello all. A friend and I started to get into drifting a year or so ago. We started out with basic TL-01's with locked rear diff's and not a lot else. I then converted my TT-01R and fitted a front oneway. After drifting with this for a while I decided it was time for a challenge and bought myself a D3. Fitted a 9.0t ezrun with 18t pinion and standard spur gear. First time out I thought what have I bought as all I could do was doughnuts! Good ones I must add. Converted the chassis to run 50/50 as that's what I'm used to. Fitted a centre tensioner to take some whip out of the centre belt. Ordered a oneway diff. When it turned up one of the bearings was round the wrong way. Fitted it and it lasted all of 5 minutes. Buy the 3 racing one not the cheap version! Still up for the challenge of learning CS I converted it to 1.5 CS ratio. Went testing with it today and its excellent. My friend? Still drifting his TL-01! We drift on smooth tarmac so if anyone has any hints or tips I'd really appreciate your help.
  17. Flysky for me Had my GT3B about 2years and never had an issue. Receivers are cheap and small. I bought 3 for
  18. RadioFish.........Have you sorted your radio gear yet?
  19. I cant recommend this truck enough. Still nothing broken! Keep losing body pins when it rolls. Dont know about the radio and electrics as I ripped mine out as soon as I got it home. Might not be the most advanced SCT but it sure is tough!
  20. I've got a Big6 running an 8.5t motor. Been good as gold apart from when the front suspension got hit! Must agree with Steve. It would be good to get a few of these together.
  21. Evining Kingpin.......I've got the red/black/grey shell. Very robust. Been upside down on tarmac, end over end, hit a couple of tree's and still no cracks! you just had to look at my SC4 shell and it split. What brushless are you putting in? I've got an 5.5t, which is tempting, but I think it'll be to much for 2wd.
  22. Kingpin.........It dont half shift with the 9.0t and 2s lipo. I think when the front hits a dump and air gets under the bodyshell the wheelies start! Make sure the rear tyres are well glued. Used 4 lipo's Sunday and still nothing broken.
  23. Kingpin..........I bought the metal diff gears and spare driveshafts but nothing broken after about 10 runs! I wont change the gears unless something brakes. I find the front a little light which causes a lot of wheelies. I know you can put the battery further forward but dont think it will make much difference with a lipo. May try weighting it a bit?
