  1. Evening! I was just wondering what people thought of the Asiatees aluminum parts? I have just snapped a C-hub on my Savage 21 and always said that I will upgrade anything I break.. I don't want to go buying their aluminum stock and be receiving something sub par. I'm looking at 2 pairs of C-hubs and a blue chassis, they seem very 'reasonable', which gives me my doubts. Also looking at a sway bar - http://www.asiatees.com/display.php?id=25967&brand=HPI&model=Savage%2021 - from there but I believe they come with no instructions whatsoever.. Has anybody any experience fitting one? And how difficult/straight forwards is it? Thanks in Advance, Orrin.
  2. He owes me money.. That's how it works there.. I will really only go for fuel, on a Tuesday because for some reason it's a fiver cheaper - Or is that when he's stoned? I don't really know!
  3. What a shame about this whole scenario, for both the owners of the store and local hobbyists.
  4. As promised, shot on Canon 500N with Kodak colour plus 200 film If I were a competition entry, I'd be night time. by Orrin Bebbington, on Flickr We were Premier league by Orrin Bebbington, on Flickr Peace, man by Orrin Bebbington, on Flickr Mr. Bebbington by Orrin Bebbington, on Flickr Take a seat by Orrin Bebbington, on Flickr
  5. I normally hate selective colouring but I really like that of the guy sat on the mountain. I've been shooting with film recently, for a change.. just fancied it. I'll post some results up later on
  6. I'm pretty sure it's the same car apart from a different chassis layout and a larger engine.. At the end of the day, you'll not get many replies to a WIW thread, people just don't have an answer for it. Something, whatever it is, is only worth what somebody will pay for it Put it on Ebay, 99p no reserve, you'll get what it's worth. Alternatively, put it up at what you would like for it and give buyers the 'best offer' option.
  7. I just bought a 3 EVO with a spare chassis and 3 shells, a toolkit, fuel, loads of wheels, tyres, rotostart and transmitters for
  8. I've managed to get this all back together now and I'm happy again.. one thing though.. is 2nd gear supposed to spin freely? I assume it works in the sense that at a certain velocity, the 2nd clutch engages?
  9. cheers guys! Must make a cheeky punt on this that my friend has then
  10. I suppose it really could be anything.. I judt wondered if there was an underlying fault with a certain part or a known issue It's definitly not been burned on, it's still very watery (if that's the word I should use). I'm right to think that spent fuel is more oily than when not?
  11. Hi fellas.. Whenever I use my Rascal, I have a blast, no doubt but.. when we are set to go home I have to put it in a bag or something because the whole thing is caked in fuel.. I'm not sure if I've got a leak from somewhere or not but it really is absolutely caked. There looks to be a little bit coming out of where the one way bearing sits (I just use a 14mm in a drill with the bearing in), but I wouldn't say enough to cause the mess I am faced with. Is there anything I should know about? Also, pretty much all the screws that hold the engine in underneath have worked loose at some point.. I have taken them out now and replaced them with some Stainless steel pan heads from the shed and they are working a treat, so far.. If I'm honest, I think it's put together pretty shoddily but.. that's just my opinion. Cheers, Orrin.
  12. When you say the car jerks forwards and stalls, is that as you are starting it or once it's started? Either way, it sounds like your idle has been set WAY too high, and your clutch shoes have welded to the bell housing.
  13. Looks spot on, and if it works well.. what a bonus! Out of interest, what did you pay for it (PM me if you'd rater not say publicly). I've just been told to 'make an offer' on one by a friend of mine, and don't want to go in too high :good:or too low ... He says he used it 3 times after run in.. so at a guess it's probably only had a litre of nitro through it
  14. If that'll work, then it's worth a try! I shall call them in the morning! Cheers
  15. Thanks very much! I will definitely have a look right he way through, I'll not be doing anything else tomorrow Thanks very much! right place, right time I think So, you want something with 300 top end for around £70? If my assumption is correct then my advice is to look at the Sigma 70-300 APO DG. A very capable lens for the money, and very highly commended. On top of the 300mm you can gain 1:1 magnification with some extension tubes.. Extension tubes contain no glass, therefore you will not notice any decrease in image quality. Something I've been meaning to buy for long while and have just never gotten round to doing. Here's a shot of a Macaw I took @300mm on my Sigma, he was perched about 15 metres away from me. Macaw by Elbo Photography, on Flickr Although, I'd recommend seeing it 'on black', just to show how very crisp the lens can be. View on black
  16. I do mean the 2 speed, sorry I've managed to get the hex out by hitting it.. maybe a tad too violently though as in the process, I cracked the housing and lost one of the spring pins I've manage to dismantle the whole thing now though which I'm happy about but yeah, back to square one with needing parts as I can't find anywhere which has Z251 in stock in the UK
  17. Oooo, the photography thread Just a selection of my most interesting shots on Flickr... 18. As title really chaps. I've just tried to take the adapter plate out of my centre diff (to swap the 1st gear out, as it was knackered). The grub screw will not shift and in trying to force it out, I have snapped an allen key end of inside it Seemingly, my only option now is to buy a fully assembled diff, if that's the case, where is best to buy one from? If there is still a way I can dismantle the little bugger then please, share with me your knowledge Cheers, Orrin.
  19. Awesome! Really loving the TS Liner
  20. Hate to bump topics but, I've been hunting all evening for a MK2 Golf.. with no joy! I'm going to speak to my local guy @ NPS, he will no doubt be able to mould these if I were to get hold of a shell Legality shmegality
  21. I've been looking about and trying to find some 2 piece wheels, I know Tamiya do some different one's but I'm buggered if I can find them! Is there anybody that specializes in these sort of wheels or is Tamiya my best bet? I want something a little wider than the standard 26mm. I know the split rims are just adjustable offset but, I have other ideas too.. My other question is.. has anybody stretched tyres onto wheels before? I have experimented with some old tyres and the front edge of a wheel of mine and managed to get a pretty good look by cutting away some of the tyre mounting. I'm just stumped on how I'd get the 2nd edge stretched on I apologise if my questions sounds n00by, but alas, I am a n00b Also, this wheel setup is strictly for when my car is shelved.. I shan't be doing anything crazy on them.
  22. I'm already spending shed loads.. it's very easy to do Thanks for all the welcomes chaps
  23. It was just a random listing on ebay, couldn't believe my luck! Thanks, I will check out the Hyper 7, I think this RC craze has become an addiction sooner than I anticipated. I always enjoy taking the Rascal out, what a great piece of kit I will also check that HN out! Thanks both Orrin.
  24. That was a great watch, it is tense as hell for the 1st 4:30.. Clearly the better driver. IMO.
