    1/8 150a ESC

As title, does anyone have one going before I order one?
  3. I'm no Traxxas fan but I quite like the idea, if not the execution. Traxxas have clearly seen that 'scale' looks are becoming ever more popular, yes I know this doesn't look as scale as some of Axial's stuff but that's clearly the direction Traxxas have gone with it. The idea of a 'scale' looking basher (as opposed to crawler) with larger dimensions than the Axial stuff appeals to me, and this is a step in the right direction, it just seems a bit half-assed. Shame they didn't base it on the Summit. A Summit chassis with shorter arms, smaller wheels, a 'scale' looking shell and brushless power would be great.
  4. Near Badminton (about half way between Bristol and Gloucester).
  5. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/170819-yokomo-drifter-mr4-tc-sd-roller/
  6. Would you be interested in any swaps? How about a Yokomo drift car?
  7. They look nice and beefy, but are they any stronger than the HPI machined 'bulletproof' ring and pinion?
  8. Nevermind, didn't see the link lol. Combo looks good for the price, I've always found the Trackstar stuff good, been using the 150a ESCs for a while and never had any issues with them (until I blew mine last week by shorting it out, doh!). The older Trackstar motors lacked torque compared to the 4-pole beasts like the Castle series, but still good motors.
  9. Yeah that's the one. It's a 35amp ESC, my mistake. It's still plenty enough for the Pumpkin though.
  10. I'm running a 13t EZRun setup in mine (45amp) and it's more than enough. You don't really need anything more in a Lunchbox/Pumpkin. Here's a vid of mine:
  11. We'll deffo be going at some point in the near future. I'll try for the record with my SC
  12. They are probably just covering their asses, it clearly works with electronics as they've demo'd it several times.
  13. Yeah I just read the reviews, not so good for coating the whole car in then. Still, looks like a great alternative to CorrosionX and plastidip for doing ESCs and the like
  14. Saw a few videos of this stuff a while back whilst they were still developing it, but it has actually gone on sale now: Looks ideal for ESCs and stuff, but also for coating the whole car in the stuff to make it much easier to clean. It's already available to buy in the states: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-18-oz-NeverWet-Multi-Purpose-Spray-Kit-274232/204216476#.Ud3DWtK1FCg Hopefully won't be long before you can buy it over here
  15. I really want to launch my Hyper SC off that ramp
  16. It's to do with the suspension geometry, specifically castor angle. Think of shopping trolley, when you pull one backwards the wheels turn through 360 degrees, the same thing applies to your RC, but the wheels can't spin all the way around so just wobble side to side.
  17. I didn't use a 'kit', I just modded my receiver box and put the standard tank there, and mounted the throttle/brake servo at the rear where the tank was originally.
  18. Yep, smashing fuel tanks is a common problem on the savage. The tank guards don't really do much, only real solution is the mid-tank mod. Pretty straight forward, even without buying a 'kit'.
  19. Well there you go In a 1/8th application they really are nuke-proof. I would imagine the same would apply to the Super 5SC with it just being a stretched 1/8th.
  20. I'm talking specifically in a Savage application, I've never had a single problem with them on my Savvy and it's a heavy old beast, not far off the weight of the Super 5SC, and trust me I've put them through some serious abuse. There simply isn't any better for a Savage.
  21. Would be interesting to see a set of IRC Big Bore v2 shocks on one of these. They are heavy, but absolutely nuke-proof.
