  1. My job is a CNC programmer/operator for a structural steelwork company. Our machinery is for the production of structural steel though so totally different to the kind of components we are talking about here, but the principle is still the same. We import the DSTV data directly from the cad systems in the drawing office, so the machines output exactly what is drawn with very little if any programming required.
  2. Axial wheels, Proline Big Joe 40-series tyres.
  3. So I decided to replace the old non-X TVPs on my Savvy, I went with the IRC 6mm extended 4mm thick LCG TVP kit. I ordered it on thursday, and it arrived today. Great stuff It was really well packaged, with each component in individual bags with the package. Here is everything included: That's the TVPs themselves, heavy duty engine plate with drive-cup cutout, heavy duty extended front dogbone (same length as a standard rear item) two chassis braces and a skid plate. It also included a full chassis screw set, which was nice. So I cracked on and tore down my savvy, here is the IRC chassis partially assembled: Engine, gearbox, brake & throttle servo and linkages installed: Battery/radio tray with mid tank mod done: And here it is finished: I'm really pleased with it, the quality is outstanding and it puts my standard TVPs to shame, they are like cheese in comparison. Total chassis extension is around 12mm, not a huge amount but enough to make a difference, and it gives the chassis much better proportions with the Big Joes. Here it is with the shell fitted: Just enough extension to make the proportions much better then before. I'll take her out for a good bashing session tomorrow to see how they've affected handling/stability, and going by other peoples experiences I don't think I'll be disappointed
  4. How high does a Baja engine rev though? 15-20k? Engines only produce torque, BHP isn't a force it's just a measurement of torque at a given RPM, so it stands to reason that a Nitro engine will produce seemingly silly BHP figures because they rev so damned high. BHP = Torque (lbft) multiplied by RPM divided by 5252. That said, the BHP figures quoted for Nitros are still overstated; a nitro engine supposedly producing around 2.2bhp at 34000rpm gives a figure of around 0.35lbft of torque. However, if the Baja engine mentioned above is producing 1.5bhp at 18000rpm it works out at around 0.45lbft of torque, that's only 0.10 more than the Nitro engine in my example, so the BHP figure for the Nitro engine is clearly not accurate.
  5. I absolutely love my LRP Z30R, the huge torque suits my Savage down to the ground. I also have a Z28R in my truggy and it's stupid quick. If I were buying for a buggy however I would get a good screamer of a .21, it would suit a buggy better then a big torque monster.

    Pedo Bear

On it's own the text in that pic wouldn't be funny, it is however funny when put into the Pedobear context, but you have to be 'in on the joke' and know about the whole Pedobear thing to 'get it'.

    Pedo Bear

Jesus...... The Pedobear stuff IS NOT ENDORSING/PROMOTING PAEDOPHILIA. If you genuinely think that then you are actually showing your own lack of intelligence in not being able to understand the irony. 4chan humour comprehension fail. Obvious newfag is obvious Actually, he's absolutely correct. You are the one that needs to go and do some homework, you're making yourself look a bit silly.

    Pedo Bear

Don't be ridiculous. 'The majority' wouldn't know who or what Pedobear even is. Sure, there is a fine line between something being funny and something being offensive, but it is subjective. If I'm honest I find that baby-doll peeing .gif a bit distasteful, I find the subtle and cleverly done Pedobear stuff far, far funnier than the in your face stuff like that, but the point is humour by it's very nature will nearly always offend someone, and if it's not offensive to anybody it's just usually not very funny People need to lighten up and stop looking for the next thing to get offended by, it seems to have become a national ****ing sport

    Pedo Bear

Look, it's a horrible, horrible subject. But as somebody has already pointed out, humor is how humans best cope with the most ****ed up, ****ty things in life. It's an ironic take on the Daily Mail fueled paedo-paranoia. The view that there is a paedo on every street corner, that every man is a potential paedo, that paedophiles are somehow a new phenomenon. I have five kids of my own, and I find the whole Pedobear thing hilarious. Hell, even my eldest son (Nomsicle on here) has a Pedobear on his RC. You don't like it? Fine, your browser has a back button

    Pedo Bear

It's ironic black humour. You should watch the 'Paedogeddon' episode of 'Brass Eye Special', that'll really get your faux-rage going

Are you a Daily Mail reader?
  15. I'm pretty sure the MT uses a small block engine, the hyper .21 is a big-block so no, it won't fit.
  16. I have that engine in my Savage, it is an absolute torque monster, I can pop wheelies in all three gears and my Savage is geared quite high. I also have a Z28R in my Truggy and it's silly quick.
  17. Here's my HB Lightning Truggy sat on a shelf after a good thrashing: That's the closest it's ever going to come to being a shelf queen
  18. If I could only keep one of my RCs it would be my Savage as it was my first Nitro and I've spent far too much money on it to make back if I were to sell it. That and I just love the way the thing performs
  19. Thanks, I'm really happy with the look Here's how she looks now with a bit of dirt on the tyres/wheels and a few more stickers:
  20. Used him loads of times, always received the parts the very next day, absolutely top bloke
  21. Thanks, your XL looks great
  22. Nice build, are they the 6mm extended TVPs? I'm probably going to be ordering a set on thursday this week, how long did yours take to arrive?

    Advice

I do like petrol, but it's true that they don't have that revvy responsiveness and eagerness of nitro engines, they just seem to have a slower 'feel'. Sound is subjective, but petrols do sound like gardening tools That said I would like a petrol to go with my nitros one day
