just thought id make a quick thread on my diy baja mainly for my self so i can see how it progressors ,, but would like input from other people be it whether you like it dont like it anything i could do better etc etc so heres i how i aquired the baja and where the story started meand mate decided to go 1/5 for the summer months so up my lst2 brushless for sale and got offered a trade for a baja was told it was genuine baja but well to me they all look the same so god knows ,, anyway i was in derby and the lad was in pontefeact and said he would cover my fuel to drive up for the trade,, so off i went ,, arriving to his house i was greeted with a baja that had the front tower assembly in pieces and was told the clutch need looking at as it was binding on the bell,, i was also told it need the spring and bits for the servo saver,, upon closer inspection it also needed the spur carrier and rubber bushes,, spur cover,, i asked where the bodyshell was and well it didnt have one lol so at this point i thought id leave it and drive home with my lst2 still with me but managed a agreement where i kept my spekky ,, he still covered the fuel cost and gave me a bit more cash on top,, so bassicly i was now at the point of where do i start so i did the natural thing and chopped the down 45mm same as scorpion chassis,, i then built up the front end with a alloy tower and turtle racing brace got the servo saver bits so thats done,, i then turned my attention to the missing spur carrier and bushes ,, i sorted a carrier and hostile spur off a mate for a couple of quid,, result,, ordered a killswitch from jolly roger and got that fitted cheers bud sorted a clone dom from nitroholic cheers to you too then turned my attention to the radio box ,, i mounted the steering servo on its own using a bracket i knocked up,, then i used a kyosho received box and the original radio box and combined the 2 so now i have a proper radio box with 2 compartments a ariel holder and it sits on the chassis pins as the original box did, only other thing ive changed is the wheels as it came with 4 rear clone desperados with very worn bowties on 2 and worn rovan hostile clones on the rear,, so know have hpi star wheels all round with red beadlocks with dirt buster on the front and decent bowties on the back sourced a red and black bodyshell and cut that down too then ordered some parts i.e new window clips km front y brace and rear hd tranny plate red silverback monkey nuts 1 engine brace and spacer whats still missing spur gear cover and red pins ordered a set of these arms to give them a try as i liked the looks lol http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191557948543?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT some red carbon red for the roof plate and quick release rollcage tubes and thats where i stand with it at the min ,, ive got no pics of the progress but here she is

used to visit ndor quite often and the answers to your questions are yes its a great track ,, with a good canteen ,, onsite toilets etc ,, the bloke that runs it (tim ramsden aka mallet is a top bloke and will gladly help you iron out any tuning issues etc with your car ,, i would defo reccomend ndor bud ,, ps im also from derby

hi all just swapped my lst brushless artr for a baja now i need a few bits sadly as its looks like it will be a bit of a project its got the neccesary upgrades alloy towers and braces etc but sadly stock pipe etc etc so im in need of these parts cheap as poss shell spur gear cover and the 2 pins hopefully someone will have a few of these bits knocking about so i can combine postage

finally got it sorted and just gave it a quick run out side my house , no full speed or owt just a quick test and im quite happy with just got to pick a shell up on the weekend

you can but enjoy getting it back of when it looks rough as it will come off in a million pieces due to all the scratches it will have

Now got a 2200kv leopard motor as the hobbywing was sounding a bit rough, on the plus side I now have the lst2 , ive give it a good clean , done a diy forward only conversion, diy single speed conversion , I just need to get the right size nut for a the spur gear as I cant find one that fits as I have no daft losi size stuff, ive made a plate to mount the esc on at the rear of the truck , all thats left to do is mount the esc , mount the battery up front behind the rx box and find a pesky nut , ill pick up a shell on friday ( payday ) then should be good for a test Oh the yellow springs looked tatty so they have gone blue

No not als bud he hasnt got it plus his was a aftershock yeah bit of a change from a 8th buggy bud but in reality I dont have the time to put into 8th racing with setup and practice days and race days etc I was looking for a truggy roller to trade my 8b roller for but nothing has come up but this lst2 has so contemplating it as ill be able to bash it and drop some truggy wheels on and slam it and quite happilly run it round ndor lol a couple of my mates have brushless savages so we can get some truck racing on the go lol I would prefer to just use the esc brakes , I have seen about a diy forward on conversion but cant find details on how its done and if I was to do the forward only would that inturn allow me to use esc braking and reverse?
