  1. I have a brilliant Kyosho Inferno Neo which I have swapped out the . 21 engine for a .25 and taller gearing and better servos. This thing is rapid for a nitro model. I also have a HPI Trophy Truggy 4.6 which is very quick too, considering I'm a crap driver. Just love nitro. Shame it's not that popular now.
  2. Hi everyone. Haven't been on here for years. Returning to RC bashing with my old nitro stuff (I'd forgotten how much fun it is). Thing is, I can't help noticing that hardly anyone is interested in nitro nowadays. It's all gone electric. I haven't got a spare £1000 to go out and buy an electric truggy or 1/8 buggy. I enjoy the tuning process but spare parts are thin on the ground. My question to you all is this. Should I ditch the nitro stuff and save up and go brushless. I know they can be much faster than nitro if you go 6s or 8s but I know absolutely nothing about electric. I love the nitro sound and smell and I think I may regret spending hundreds on a fast brushless model. The batteries are mega expensive and I have heard that they can catch on fire 🔥 when charging. Please give me some advice. I could use brushless in the street outside my house and not bother the neighbours too much. Cannot do that with nitro. Not worth selling my nitro cars as they aren't worth anything. Many thanks in advance for your advice.
  3. Should add, the back plate seal and all the carb seals are new. It is a new carb.
  4. Hi everyone. Hyper7 .21 3 port fires up ok but revs go high and clutch shoes fly out and it tries to run away. I pulled the engine and sealed up the carb and exhaust then blew air down the fuel inlet through some fuel pipe. Submerged in a bucket of water, the only air bubbles are coming out of the front crankshaft bearing. No fuel leaks out so could air be leaking in when it is running. This is what is confusing because if the crank is not sealed, surely fuel will leak out. Any thoughts on this please?
  5. Hi. Does anyone know what the part numbers are for the engine mounts & spacers for the Kyosho KE25 engine. I can't seem to find them on MS website. I'm assuming that they will let me put my KE25 engine in my Inferno Neo, just like the Neo Race spec. Thanks in advance.
  6. Hi everyone. So I've had these HPI Plasma 6v hump packs for a couple of years but they haven't had much use. Have I ballsed them up by charging them wrong? They are 1600 mAh. When new they would go up to 1600ish clicks on the charger display, that would be a full charge. Now they only charge up to between 300-400. Then when in the car they run out after 15 minutes or so. I only ever charge at either 1600mAh (max) but usually lower. Can I bring them back to life or should I bin them and buy new ones.
  7. Hi everyone. Out bashing yesterday and my Trophy Truggy 4.6 stopped and would not restart. When i got it home i pulled the engine and guess what? Broken crankshaft and a big hole in the bottom of the crankcase. New engine then. Could get another F4.6 HPI but thinking about it, could go for something a bit better. All recomendations appreciated and thanks in advance as i'm off to work now and won't be able to reply till later.

  9. Hyper 7 +++++ I bought a used one and with the money i saved, i was able to upgrade and get loads of spares. Also, parts are everywhere and cheap.
  10. Thats really useful. Thanks
  11. Hi, Just in the process of stripping down the diffs on the Hyper 7. Front & centre all done, just doing the rear. The bloke in my LHS suggested (for bashing and to keep cost down) to put 4000 in all 3 diffs. I know there are a million different views on which oil goes where. Everyone you ask says something different. Anyway, its a major strip down to do this, clean all the original grease off and fill diffs with oil. Thing is, i don't think the buggy will drive any different compared to before. How will the handling or grip be any better?
  12. The DX3S is ok. The only thing against it is that it has so many things in the menu list, all controlled by rolling a wheel switch, then to select the setting you just push the roller in. I'm just being picky really because i'm not very patient with fiddly electronics. Really easy to change cars though. Not too sure about range as i like to keep the cars quite close by.
  13. My son not really interested. He'd rather play Minecraft on ipod
  14. Good point. No good having all these new people if no jobs for them. An r/c track wouldn't provide jobs, but its negetive attitude that really annoys me. Its always going to be a non starter because the council and other greedy money driven bodies can see no proffit opportunity.
  15. Ha Ha. Like the thought of drifting but nowhere to do it really around here. I want to buy a bit of land and start my own off road track. No chance though. The local council hates anything fun, and even though there are acres of wasteland just being used for dogs to **** on.
  16. Just because it is a bit cold at the moment, no one is bashing anywhere. I'm trying to get out later on but i know i'll be on my own. Anyone in the Dartford / SE London area fancy meeting up?

Cut the rest of it off flush, drill a small hole and screw in one of those curtain hooks (bent open so your finger fits nicely inside). Alternatively, swap the whole trigger assembly from an old transmitter.
  19. Hi guys, Really annoyed with myself. Whilst bashing, someone lent me there hole cutter and i rather stupidly cut a hole in the wrong place. Now it looks stupid. The shell in question is one of the old Hyper 7 tq sport ones (with the really nice flame design in yellow and green). Its like the Black edition one, just different colours. I am gutted. Does anyone know where i can buy one? They are discontinued and i don't like the tq2 ones. If anyone wants to sell one you can PM me. Cheers in advance.
  20. Alturns = AWESOME. Got them in all my cars. Look out for the ultra high speed one. It is a bit pricey but one of the quickest around. It has transformed my Trophy 4.6 Truggy.
  21. Na - launched it. I'll tell you it made a right mess. All little tiny bits of metal inside crankcase and had made their way up through the ports and laying on top of the piston. Could not see any other damage though. Just bought starter box. This should help get it going instead of pull start. Just have to wait 'till next pay day to get batteries for it, LOL!
  22. Hi everyone. Just a quick question before i head off to work. Had to put new piston & liner in my Hyper 7 3port due to the piston skirt breaking up. Totally stripped engine and got all broken bits out. Had it running same day, just ticking over on a rich setting to run in. Now a week or so later it refuses to start. Any ideas much appreciated.
  23. Firstly is the rubber seal still there? If should be on the underside of the lid. Secondly, can you see any cracks in the plastic? Either of these probably would mean a new tank (unless anybody knows how to fix tanks- i don't). It has to be air tight so it will pressurise from the exhaust.
  24. Cheers but how do these bearings stop the fuel from leaking through them? They have no seals on them.
