  1. Savox are a reasonable servo but they suffer when they get hot. The warranty is good but then again so is the Hitec one, the only reason hitec won't warranty something is it shows signs of water ingress or the horn rubbing on the case causing it to stall and fail. Hobbythek are doing the upgraded multiplex rhino for 89euros.
  2. Try racing at Nene, you'll probably get a lot more from it than you think.
  3. Fuel left in the tank will also discolour it.
  4. They get dirty and scruff, you see plant firms paint their machines, even the buckets but the are back to square one within a week and then look worse imo.
  5. Duraglit wadding polish or brasso wadding + elbo grease. have plenty of clean rags and wear latex/vinyl gloves just to keep your hands clean.
  6. For a shelf queen then yes, if it suits you. If it's a car you run on a regular basis then I wouldn't bother. If you're going to the trouble of colouring the alloy parts, annodising would be best in my opinion.
  7. Don't connect it to the carb. drill a hole in the tank suitable for a tank grommet and feed the breather pipe through it and set the rest up as already shown.
  8. Ian did drive direct from Portugal but Craig went home for a week at work. The track is awesome and gets better as it dries out (we had heavy rain last night). The photos and videos don't do the place justice. The facilities are probably the best in Europe. I think the video crew turn up on Wednesday so keep your eyes open on the rc racing tv link in the op and on the timing. Ian did drive direct from Portugal but Craig went home for a week at work. 9. Ian will be there as EFRA chairman and Craig Orman will be racing. Lots of the Europeans do on road and off road too as I'm sure you're aware.
  10. Just finished packing the car, quick shower, chill for a couple of hours and then head for dover. giddy as a kid in a sweetshop :insane: :insane: :insane:
  11. HI All, I just wanted to let you know that some of us racers from England are heading over to Austria to compete in the Eurpean championships. You can follow it live on tv here http://rcracingtv.net/?cat=61,9,6 All the results will be here http://www.myrcm.ch/myrcm/main?pLa=en&tId=E&hId[1]=org&dId[O]=507&dId[E]=17153# and the host club site is here http://www.wmw-fehring.at/ check out the gallery, it's a brilliant venue. Here is a video from 2010 Enjoy.
  12. They had some problems in the early days but now they're very good. Steve Jones from the Kendal bashers and racing club is the man to chat with.
  13. Chances are, your carb setting is set too lean. Rule of thumb is it should be about half full after a run.
  14. Try any one of these places - meets most weekends These are the dates of the national series. 30th March Rnd 1North Ings http://www.northingsraceway.webs.com/ 20th April Rnd 2NVR http://www.nenevalleyraceway.co.uk/ 25th May Rnd 3Kendal http://www.kendalbash.co.uk/ 22nd June Rnd 4Nook http://www.nookraceway.com/ 13th July Rnd 5NDOR http://www.ndor.co.uk/ 24th Aug Rnd 6Pickering http://www.pickeringrctrack.co.uk/ 21st Sept Rnd 7North Ings 12th Oct Rnd 8NVR
  15. The best way in my opinion (If you have a bench in your workshop) is to screw your chassis to the bench in as many places as possible with increasing/decreasing lumps under the offending bit to pull it back into line - leave it screwed down for a while once its flat. I have heard of people putting theirs in the fridge and others in the oven but I've never tried it.
  16. I believe the lauterbacher clutch is very popular again and the new oddified 6 shoe (3 alloy/3PTFE) is also proving very good indeed.
  17. The owner of Lauterbach sadley died recently, the factory closed a few months ago.
  18. The best source for FG spares is http://rc-car-online.de/shop/en-startseite.html Any mods/genuine FG upgrade parts you might want could be found here, they also sell the samba pipes and Mielke pipes - the best pipes available. For engine tuners.... www.oddified.com The best engine tuner for large scale anywhere. Just drop him an email, tell him what you want for what car and He'll advise you on the best route to take.
  19. Have you thought of the Grafil shells? The Kendal bashers club guys, Steve and Tony are UK distributors for them - top guys, they'll sort you out.
  20. The top drivers stand out no matter what. The best thing was seeing 99% of the drivers coming off the rostrum with a grin on their face, that's what makes it worth while for the organisers. Set up for me was just a change of springs and oil.
  21. It was bud, but then it's off road. Obviously as a horse arena, it's had many hoofs and the odd ton of horse compacting it all year so the first day wasn't as bad as the following ones after it had been graded and rolled - after that, it didn't take that long to dig up. All in all, a great meeting on an interesting surface.
  22. What a great weekend. I think most will agree that the mix of 2wd, 4wd and short course cars couple with a great mix of abilities and nationalities was fantastic. Of the 3 classes, there was an almost even split between them. If you ever fancy trying racing, then you don't want to miss this event next year - same time (ish) same place. Check out www.zenoahchallengecup.org
  23. Looks rough and ready, needs a tidy up in a few areas but it looks better than some I've seen. New tyres, brakes, bit's of alloy - good fun in the making.
