Xo1
in Micro & Mini
I used the stock ESC ( you can get them from hobbyking cheaper) & a decased turbo racing Rx. If you're on Facebook, have a look at the Orlandoo builders guild ,& micro RC pages.Β π

Made wheel weights for the Orlandoo shogun & fitted them. Made a weight to go on the servo too. It's climbing better now π

Some people have put brushless combos in them. I've only used the electrics from tiny4x4. But they stand up to the abuse I put them through π. I use the 500rpm motors. They're perfect for what I drive the trucks over. The 300rpm is too slow for me. I tried a 1000 in the doorok & it don't have the torque to move it π

They use the Orlandoo hunter running gear. I've got a doorok & a hunter shogun already. I'll be putting 500 motors in the xo1s, they seem to be the best for what I crawl the trucks over.

Β I had a reasonable RC for Xmas when I was a kid. But the gearbox in that broke. I got into BMX for quite a while, but the council demolished the track we'd built on wasteland & we got grief when we rode in town. The cops kept stopping me for "having no back brake". It was a coaster brake & I showed the cops I had a back brake by doing back hops π€£. I sold the BMX & bought a tamiya rough rider. After destroying that I took a long break from RC. When I was in my late 20s I bought a Tmaxx.Β I've been hooked ever since π

I had 2Β ESCs from hobbyking left in the garden this morning. I'll be able to get the doorok up & running in a bit π

Put the associated sc28 back together after little un jumped it down the stairs & tore the back end offΒ

I bought the wrong length drive shafts for the doorok π. They're not internally hexed the full length for some reason. So I cut out the middle bit , made a collar , glued it all together & now I have the correct length drive shafts βΊοΈ

I got a box of goodies from tiny4x4 in the post today. I should finally be able to finish the doorok I bought last November ππ€£

Sounds like you need a new ESC at least. Does the motor still turn? I had a castle motor that got really hot due to me using a dust shroud to keep the snow out. It smelled funny, but still ran like a train after it'd cooled down.Β

new driveshaft came today so was able to test new wheels out a little seems much more stable nowΒ
Make sure that you threadlock all the screws/ grubscrews in the drive shaft. They're renowned for buggering off π

Some shocks for the Orlandoo shogun. π

I finished the orlandoo micro shogun. Put the tyres off the doorok on it to help with ground clearance & they catch on the front bumper & body π. I'll grind off the necessary & I've ordered some m5 280 shocks to give it a bit more lift .

Some heat shrink ( like electricians use helps keep the grub screws in. Super glue on the threads helps too. Mine kept spitting screws so I modded a traxxas summit drive shaft to fit & I've not had a problem since π

Why do people do this?
To get the batteries working.

Drop the battery tray onto the spur gear cover. That's a good mod ,& it's free π.Β

Hi. The steel rear drive shaft is pretty much a must.Β The chassis mod improves stiffness no end. I went for hobby king 4000MAH 2s hardcase lipos.Β Have a look at "outlaw owners" on here. There's loads of info there .if you want to go faster, a brushless combo from gool rc is less than 40 quidΒ ?

Micro servos in the UK
in Micro & Mini
Posted
Does anyone know where I can buy a couple of micro servos from? The ones I'm after need to be 16mmx15mmx8mm & have a proper servo plug on them with short leads. They're for a pair of Orlandoo xo1s. Tia π
