  1. Hello Guys, Had a play yesterday and I did put some sealant on the manifold a few days ago. It seems to be running ok, better than last time I look it out, I think with some tweaking i'll get it running a bit better, but I think my main problems have now been solved. Had a good run without it stalling at all, engine seemed to be running smoother. So thanks for all your help guys This thread has got really long so any future problems I will put in a new thread Thanks again!
  2. Thanks. Yeah, got some of the high temp stuff (copper), i'll give it a go to see if that helps and if so i'll order a new gasket.
  3. haha. I'll do what stormbringer suggests and check the manifold. Would some sealant around it work ok? And as you both suggest i'll try richening it up a bit see if that helps. (i'll try this first then the sealant as this will take 24hrs+ to go off and i'm impatient ) Thanks again for your replys, much appreciated.
  4. Thanks for your replies guys. I gave it another run today and it seems to run ok for the first 5-10 mins then it will usually start to run a bit rough. Sometimes it would cut out. But only after being run for a bit. I should have time to have a play tomorrow so I will check... - The exhaust manifold (although this is held on with a spring and i'm nto sure i can get that wrong) - will have a fiddle with the needles and check them over Thanks guys.
  5. Hello. Took it for a spin tonight (don't usually get chance after work ). The irratic idle issue is still there, although it does seem to be slightly better today. Any ideas? Thanks.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys. I've had it out today, I replaced the pullstart and sealed the backplate and carb (followed a video on youtube). It started up ok and I've got it running (first time i've ran it up the road for a while!) but it sounds very rough tbh. It's hard to explain the noise so here is another video (p.s. It's difficult to steer and hold a the camera ) Backplate screws are tight Cooling head is also on tight. There is the odd bubble in the fuel line which I'm sure is normal Fuel tank lid seems to seal ok. Fuel line seems ok, and is pretty tight on the nipples One thing I did notice is the Idle Adjustment Screw does seem to be getting a bit wet, i'm not sure if this normal but it's not dripping out or anything. Any advice? Thanks guys.
  7. Hello Guys, I'm trying to find some of these screws (4x6mm): This is on my HPI trophy, can't find a part number for them either. Anyone know where I can find some? Thanks.
  8. Thanks Stormbringer. was going to have a play today if my pullstart hadn't broke But I will give that a go when I get the new one through the post. I remember looking and there was just 1 small bubble in the fuel line when I looked, if this was the issue how can I avoid it? Would a fuel filter help? Thanks.
  9. Hello, RIght, I had a play yesterday and I still have 2 problems that I can't seem to solve, they are: Random bursts For some reason these are still happening, the throttle servo does not move when this happens, I've got a video (bit of a crappy video tho!): Any idea what could cause this? Bogging down when applying throttle When pulling the throttle just a little bit it bogs down a lot, this can be heard on this video: Any ideas? My pullstart also broke today! not had it long so i'm waiting for a new one of these to turn up now! But any thoughts about the 2 above problems? Many Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the reply PsyDom. Didn't think to check the servo throttle linkage to see if that was moving when it revved. Pretty sure there wern't many, if any, air bubbles. As I just changed the clutch none of this could be anything to do with that could it? When I get chance i'll give it another run out and see what I can figure out. Thanks for the advice. Nearly there I think
  11. Hello. Good news. I've got it started - but not 'running' yet. Right, It took some twiddling to get it started and idleing-ish. But it seems to be a bit 'sporadic', so I took a video: I'm not touching the throttle at all there, but seems to occasionally rev itself (you can see wheels spinning slightly when it does rev). So thats issue number 1. Issue number 2 is when I apply throttle a little it seems to just 'bog down', i'm thinking maybe too rich? I thought i'd get some advice before I start messing it it further Thanks for any advice.
  12. Well I got it all done and it appears to be ok, although I will be starting it up tomorrow. Really hoping it all has gone good and works Even had a trip down to wheelspin models to get a clutch tool (only 10 mins away) Will keep you updated.
  13. Took the engine off tonight and took the clutch apart - the clutch spring has indeed snapped. I don't have a flywheel tool thing, but I do have a piston stopper like this, I haven't tried taking the nut off the flywheel yet, although if I were to use the piston stopped would putting the force on it to take the flywheel nut off damage the piston? or will it be ok to use this? Thought i'd check first It was suppose to be tomorrows job but i'm impatient
  14. All order. Now I play the waiting game. Ordered some clutch bearings also just in case I'll keep you updated.
