  1. currently put wahser, bearing, bell, bearing washer on it and it still has 3mm of play? I guess so long as it aligns with the spur, I can put washers on the end to reduce movement? I can't put pictures on as I can't get photobucket to work (it wont have me!).
  2. Anyone? itching to get on and put it back together!
  3. OK - got the new kit. Shoes are on, have fitted the clutch bell and bearings. There is about 3mm of space at the end of the shaft and so the bell can move. a) is this normal? do I need to pack it with washers? Cheers M
  4. This is my neck of the woods so assuming the wife let me out to play I will be there (bathrooms in bits, but this is way more appealing than DIY)! Assuming I get my clutch bell fitted and manage to mesh it without shredding another spur I will be running on 40.86 (is this mainly a Heli frequency?) Cheers
  5. Cool - i will keep an eye (and ear) out for you next time I go, usually weekends at the moment!
  6. Just tried to set one but it won't have me - rejected ! Have bought the lot anyway as I want to get up and running at the weekend - possibly even learn to tune this thing too . . . . . . Cheers
  7. j Looks familiar - how do i upload pictures as I would opinion on the state of my shoes!
  8. OK - nail varnish remover it was. I have now managed to strip it. It looks to my untrained eye like I need new bearings, possibly shoes ? I want to go the a 15T anyways so will get one of them ordered. I have attached photos. No 1 shows: almost complete bearing (?), the inner of what was once the second bearing? chewed up bits plus spacers. No 2, 3 & 4 shows: different abgles of the shoes. See what you guys think. E:\DCIM\101CANON\3.jpeg It looks like I may as well change the shoes, bearing and gear so i am thinking . . http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT Any thoughts before I spend my cash? Thanks again. M
  9. back to the issue of wheelies and gearing. bell has 18t and spur has 49t? is this best option for someone who is basically out to jump and run BMX tracks etc. Cheers
  10. . . . truck and double truck, she has 3 bottles. 2 acentone free and 1 with - can you guess which one she keeps at work! this me scuppered untill tomorow! Thanks for your help.
  11. tried a hairdryer and now a lighter . . . . how much heat are we talking ? Doesnt seem to want to shift at all.
  12. Hi, Have now started to strip it back. The clutch bell has about 3/4mm play on it and I can see the shoes beneath so I think it needs to come off. Herein lies the problem. The screw is solid. I assume the last guy put loctite on it and now I can't shift it. Anyone got any tricks? Cheers M
  13. Thanks for the offer Lee. I am gonna give it a go myself first, between the advice on here and the manual I think I can sort. Plus if I make a mess of it I am sure someone at the upcoming Leeds Bash on the 23rd will be able to point me in the right direction. Pole position is good. Also if you have not already done so, tryf chequered flag in guiseley. M
  14. Oh dear . . . I will still give it a go as i can't believe its enforced and I am not daft enough to run when bikes are on it . . . plus, my mate who uses it for his bike is the one who keeps trying to get me to take it up.
  15. Been to Horforth twice now, 1st time was x-mas eve and it was covered with snow :good:and very quite. 2nd time was also damp just before new year. I think it will be busy in summer. The kids that were there when I last went (about 4 of them) just cleared out the way and watched from the side lines when I got it stated up. Anyone been to Yeadon BMX track - is that a busy spot?
  16. . . I was trying to keep it on its wheels thegn. The back flip was the next attempt but I landed on the roof (heat sink). . . seemed to shift the engine and chewed up my spur !!! so that was the end of the day then. I think I will wait untill I can get on softer ground (BMX track) before trying the backflip again
  17. Hi, 1st outing so I thought I should try and learn how to control and land the thing . . . great fun See what you think.
  18. Totally agree. I enjoy working on it. Only had it 2 weeks and so far new wishbones, pull start and spur gear against about 1.5hrs run time. Once this Friday's Uni deadline is out of the way I will be devoting my time to it properly (untill the next deadline). Goning to try and get my hands a cheap second one so I can strip down and re-build from scratch, that way I will know what I am talking about! Since this one came from a guy who was mainly into Helis I susptect its probably not had much attention paid to it. Cheers M
  19. OK - was thinking getting someone else to do it as I am tied up with work and uni untill next weekend, but I don't need it up and running untill start of feb so I guess I have time to whip the engine back out etc. Just a little nervous as don't know what half of it is. Just got a copy of the manual and can see what you are talking about. The model shops quite friendly so far, offered to fit a new wire to my reciever (cut off when sav slid on its roof!) for
  20. OK. This sounds a little more out of my depth than I thought. I think best to take it to a model shop to have a proper look at it? I need to know whay state the whole thing is in so i guess a kind of MOT is required.
  21. OK - so it has the power. It has a recently chewed up plastic 49T spur, and whatever clutch bell the guy who built it put on it - presumably the standard SS. It takes quite a bit of throtle before it goes anywhere.
  22. Hi, New to all this so appolgies if this dumb! Bought it from a Heli man who said it was an SS kit that he built. He said it has a 4.1 engine (he put a 4.6 in but it was too much for him!). The question is should this thing wheelie and if so how do I do it? 2 speed gears (can hear it change) and its running on tornado fuel 25% at the moment (will change and re-tune when I have finished the gallon I got with it). Cheers M
