  1. You can come and tune mine for me
  2. Awesome, thanks mate. For links just copy and paste the URL from your browsers address bar http://cgi.ebay.co.u..._fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
  3. I'm not that up on parts terminology but if you're on about those little springs that 'hold' the clutch shoes onto the flywheel then I just use needle nose pliers. With it facing me I put the spring in the shoe and push the shoe as far on the flywheel 'rod' as I can. Then I pull the end of the spring to the right with the pliers. If you hold the shoe with your left thumb it holds everything in place. Don't know if that's the best or the right way but its how I did it. Hope that's what you mean anyway
  4. Yep, added to the map. Need someone to teach me this RC lark
  5. I'll get some pics tomorrow when I try to get it running Got my colour scheme planned (very important...lol) but don't have a clue as to what hop ups. My MT2 is more for show. Want the Hyper for a good ragging!
  6. I've got a Hyper 7. Not worth taking any pics as its stock but I'll be working on that once I get the thing running
  7. At the rate I'm learning I'll be ready in about 10 years mate Good luck with the site though!
  8. Update: I think the throttle servo was dodgy as it didn't want to open the throttle properly. Not sure if that was the case but its certainly broken now Replaced it with the steering servo from the MT2 so its all good. Right, I turned down the carb needle (whatever its called) as I can fine tune the carb 'gap' from the gemini nice and quickly. It may be obvious to most but at least I learned what the LSN does now and had to adjust that enough to stop the car cutting out when I opened the throttle a bit. Its still not flush though. Then I stuck the car on a small toolbox and gave it a few revs. There was plenty of smoke so I know its still rich. When I gave it full throttle for a couple of seconds it stalled, so I'm guessing I turn in the HSN to prevent that happening? Either way I made huge progress so I'm chuffed. I'll take a quick vid tomorrow so I can get some more feedback off you guys and you can then see what should and shouldn't be happening and how I can adjust it accordingly. Cheers for your help so far, I really appreciate it!
  9. Cheers dudes! I've stuck it back to its factory settings and I'm going to go out and try it again in a minute, while the suns out
  10. Thanks mate. I took the engine off the chasis and checked the clutch etc. When I put it back everything seemed ok, so maybe it was something to do with the engines placement being too close to the spur gear, or whatever its called. It wouldn't start for me this evening but everything seemed to move ok, so I'm hopefully making progress.
  11. Cheers guys, that's a huge help I'll stick the hsn needle back to its factory setting and use the idle screw to get it to idle properly. I'm guessing enough to idle but not so much as the car moves forward? As a side note what would be the best glowplugs to use? I need to get some as spares for my Hyper and MT2 (both on 20% Byrons)
  12. Had my hyper a while now. Ran it in ages ago and hopefully did it right but you never know. Its been in storage for most of its life and after changing my fuel to 20% Byrons I stuck it all back to its factory settings with the aim of starting it from scratch. Managed to get it started today, as per the instructions and guides on here and the internet. The Hyper instructions are pretty vague, hence this thread. Plus the fact I thought it would be easier to get feedback if I took a short video. I understand the settings that the instructions state don't make things easy when getting it going. The carb is open 1mm and the only way I could keep it ticking over at idle was to turn the high speed needle clockwise in small increments. Its gone in a few turns as I tried to show. Not sure if you're supposed to do that with Hyper's or if there is another way. As soon as the throttle was applied, the engine cut out (as seen in the vid) so once restarted I just left the car there to idle for a while. And haven't made any further adjustments. So I guess really I just need some reassurance that the car is ok and that I'm heading in the right direction. There was loads of fuel leaking out of the exhaust (also seen in the vid) and a load ran out when I moved the car indoors so I'm guessing it was running very rich. Better than it running lean, right? Also please excuse the 'oil artwork' on the air filter. That was my nephew Wouldn't mind getting a better filter if anyone has any links or suggestions. Cheers
  13. Hey guys, hows it going? I'm having a few problems with my MT2 at the moment and I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to sort it out please?. I've had it for quite a while now, but due to being backward with nitro RC, its spent more time in its storage tub than being run. (just like my hyper!) Anyway, after replacing the 3rd pullstarter I decided to try to start it. Emphasis on try! I'm not sure what happened but something went wrong, sounding like something had broken inside and didn't feel right. Back in its tub it went. On inspection today the pullstarter is fine, and although the main part of the engine was stuck (the part under the glowplug) I managed to free it, but everything still feels too tight. You can't push it along the ground freely as before and the wheels are only 'free' when you pull the starter. The flywheel seems fine and I took the clutch bell off to check inside but I don't know if that's broken. Now when fitted it turns freely on its own, and I can't remember if its supposed to. The car was run in as per the directions some time ago, and it has had a few runs in its life. Just not as many as I'd have liked. Don't even get me started on the hyper! Cheers, Marcus
