  1. Hi ho guys n gals. Just finished running in a new Traxxas 3.3 in my Classic T maxx. Now i know i am gonna get slated here but i ran it in on 16% that i had lying around from when i gave up the hobby for 3 years. Either way the motor has run in nice and am still trying to gear down further to keep the front wheels on the ground. My question is this....What is the preferred fuel that you guys are using. I am getting down to the last Ltr of Tornado 16% and am gonna need to purchase soon. Any experiences good or bad out there?
  2. I rekon its all to do with technology mate. Personally i run a T Maxx and think that the old skool way it all works make it a better basher. The Revo is made for racing really.
  3. Well duh, i know that one, lol. It was all could get my hands on and i see you point over the oil content, there was a whole load of smoke at first till i got the tune right, but the engine loved the stuff, it went like a bat out of hell.
  4. About 6 years ago i had a T maxx running what was then a cracking engine. The Picco 21 maxx. At the time i ran out of fuel and the only stuff my local had was this purple coloured 10% Heli fuel . the engine had about 7 gallons in it and i though wha tthe hell and shot it in. After tuning for the next 5 mins the difference was amazing in comparison to the 20% Tornado. The maxx wouldnt keep the front wheel on the ground. I ran this for another few gallons and times got hard so had to sell up. Now i am currently breaking in another T maxx with the 3.3. Whats general opinion on the Heli fuel ? I am not planning on using on the 3.3 but it has brought back a few memories and can anyone tell me how it differs from other fuels as used in cars/trucks?
  5. You still go the 3.3 rebuilt motor mate?
  6. The inline fuel filter has in my opinion saved some crap getting into my carb. There has been grass, plastic and all sorts found its way in and got stuck int he gauze. I suppose it all depends how careful you are when filling but i run in the side of a mountain so i do tend to get stuff in there.
  7. Hey guys n gals. Relatively new here but not new to nitro. Looking for some input on a replacement engine for my T Maxx Classis 2.5. This is my 4th T maxx and on my last one i found myself a Picco 21 drop in motor which was a bit of a beast and still is...its in my mates maxx where it has seen 14 gallons of fuel and still passes me on its rear wheels with 18/70 gearing. Its this bullet-proof-ness which is edging me towards replacing my tired trx 2.5 with the newer Picco 26. This should see another massive difference in both power and torque. My real question is...Can anyone else recommend another mill that would drop straight in and be just as reliable as my mates old 21 ?
  8. I stripped my 2.5r down for an inspection and clean last week. Turns out i put the piston back in the wrong way round. You had the piston out?
  9. If it falls through i got PP at the ready mate.
  10. Well i have been looking at the 19x2 motors and have narrowed it down to 3. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=23566 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=38179 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=37678 Which one would you choose out of the three? Cheers in advance.
  11. Yeah its a 22 turn. Got a strada myself as a knock about the garden basher. I am currently taking the advice of members here and getting a 19x2 motor. I am hoping this will get the rear tyres spinning as i have taken the propshaft out.
  12. Thanks for the reply guys. I am going to go for the 19T LRP as linked. Will fill in the results. Thanks again. Much appreciated.
  13. Its the stock 14 tooth mate. I have searched and i cant find lower.
  14. Evening everyone. As i just posted in the newbie section, I have bought a Strada XT to bash around the back garden. It is currently running the smallest pinion they make for it at present which is the stock one. As far as i can tell there isnt any direct fit spur available with different tooth count so cant go down that route either. Basically i have taken the propshaft out so its RWD only. I am a real fan of tail out action and this will just about manage it with a slippery surface. The stock motor which is still in it is a 22 turn and the top speed is rubbish too. I cant get my head round what i need to do to get the rear tyres to light up. To i need torque or revs? the ESC can take down to 13 turns according to the book, but seeing as i cant go lower with the pinion will i get overheating issues if i go too low? Please help me out, i been trawling the net for days trying to figure this out. I want to light up the rears in a relatively small area without loosing too much...is any top speed. Much appreciated. Jay
  15. Hi guys. Just bought a brushed strada xt to bash around int he back garden.....Yeah i know, could have gone better but it was cheap.. I got my T maxx for a proper bashing when the need takes hold. Had a bit of a nosey about and seems like a tidy place to hang out. I got a few questions so if anyone can help me out it would be appreciated. I will post in relevant section.
