  1. thanks again all interesting we've promisingly actually ruled out nano-tech ( we had three no case replies ) based on this thread. Which may end up costing me a little more, though I'm happy to go with it! I would love to know what the b4 hardcase LiPo 53HRA ended up with. If it was in fact a nanotech, you can admit it! I will leave the debate open at this point I am yet to make up my mind and am still awaiting a US based second email from SMC to digest for a bit.
  2. I've checked out the suggestions - the Turnigy Blue seem to me to not be suitable since they don't have the female bullet connectors on the top - the rc10b4 battery compartment doesn't work with the soft packs with wires coming off the top edge. Zippy looks ok but same price (pretty much) as the nano tech. Why did you state not nano techs - have you heard bad things or had a bad experience? I would really appreciate the reason for us. I would like packs that won't mind if they are used 30 times in one year or 20 times in 5 years.
  3. Thanks for the feedback all - great stuff. I have a request in with SMC already for a shipping quote, but I think I may just now compromise (it's so unlike me though!) and as I am not racing competitive, just get something cheaper. 53HRA- where did you get the straps? Have you got space for 3s now? and which specific battery was that?
  4. any thoughts? I have 2 models and one's for my dear bro so I would appreciate any feedback before I go myself with my unsubstantiated opinions. NB this is just for bashing and the model I use at the mo is Team Associated RC10B4 (brush-less kit type).
  5. This is a great intro guide for Lithium Polymer batteries for RC hobbycraft. https://sites.google.com/site/tjinguytech/charging-how-tos
  6. I live w6 and I'd be really interested with this. Put my name down, won't supply name and email in this thread but happy to do it by PM Richmond would love an RC track it's full of people with youngsters (and oldies) looking for fun.
  7. Bump. Price Greatly Reduced Again, please be aware I can only post on Saturdays. Thanks
  8. Bump for LRP ESC and Motor. Price Reduced!
  9. TC5R sold yesterday! Bump for ESC/Motor combo with timing advance. Save lots of money buy mine!
  10. NOW SOLD Hi there I bought these with the intention of trying onroad racing this year, unfortunately that hasn't worked out logistically, my loss is your gain though. I hope the pics aren't too big or low quality for you :eh?: LRP SPX Competition Stock Spec ESC (80710). This comes wired to a GM Racing 13.5 turn motor (#97294). The ESC comes boxed with manual and a small tool to press the ESCs buttons. I am not looking to split these at this time. Comes with a Traxxas battery connector but solder your preferred one on if you like. I was told I need an ESC with advanced timing profiles like this one for competitive racing even in stock spec. I think I got a good one Looking for
  11. You have to have them in the carry on luggage and there is a limit of two (2) hi-capacity lipo batteries max. So you can't go and buy a bucketload of them unfortunately. Don't take them out of the packaging they come in as they suggest using the original packaging to protect against shorts. I brought 2 no-name 5000 2s lipos back from the states a couple of months ago with no problems. There is a limit on equivalent lithium content but I think you will be ok as long as the packs are 4s or smaller, probably even 6s to be honest. good luck!
  12. Hi there I really am enjoying my current RCs but am thinking about moving to 3-6s for bashing. Just feel the need for more torque and speed maybe. Depends on the options! What I'm after is a 4wd kit or cheap rtr which will take (out of the box) a 4s+ lipo and works with 540 motors but fits 550 motors for the future. Something well made and quality but ideally with cheap spares and good support. If this isn't available for 4wd, 2wd would be ok but I feel like getting the power down on 4 wheels would be better. I already have electrics so a kit would be great but if I need to buy a RTR and swap stuff out that would be ok too. Buggy would be good but also stadium truck or short course truck. I have no experience with anything but 2wd buggy so please let me know what might fit! I will consider a cheap new option but maybe a value 2nd hand would work out better... Cheers people! Zoea
  13. Thanks for the tips. in this case a torx head did the trick. So thanks for that but I wish there was a way to fix it permanently....
  14. price Drop £65 for this great package edit: SOLD pending payment to vanillaiceman
  15. IBM Laptop charger 08K8286 works fine for me, just happened to have a spare, and charges 2s lipo at 5 amps fine. You might get one cheap on ebay.
  16. Hi there I bought a trinity nemesis 10.5 motor second hand and one of the two screws on the back of the motor (to alter timing and hold sensor board) is not working. The hex driver (it's a good one too, 2mm) slips and I can't loosen the screw at all. Here is a pic (yes its dirty sorry!). How can I fix this? I do have a dremel type tool but dont really want to use it as it would mark the motor can best I can tell. Any other options? Thanks, Zoea
  17. Yes offers are welcome but they have to be good ones lol
  18. hi there After an unfortunate clash with a lamppost I need the following parts for a B4 please: (AS9566) Associated B4 Top Plate (AS9560 OR AS9561) B4 Chassis Used would be perfect, not looking to spend a lot but im sure we can make a deal. Please let me know if you have one or both of these (especially the chassis). Thanks very much Zoea (London, UK)
  19. I have a Novak Ballistic 8.5 in my B4 with a Mamba Max Pro speedo on 2s lipo. Everytime I take it out i break it lolI think it's a little too fast you should be ok with the 9t finned motor since its so cheap but maybe go for 10.5 ezrun that will be about as fast as the one you are replacing or maybe a bit faster (best guess). Haven't had any personal experience with the 9t motor.
  20. I was also interesting in picking one of these up, but couldn't get any information on spares in the UK. If I have to wait 2+ weeks for import parts that would be a dealbreaker for me though. Still, interested in this thread, thanks for posting!
