  1. Hey folks.... I'm doing the London to Cambridge bike ride this year, A friend of mine was going to do it but she had to pull out so i've taken her place. Its a 60 mile cycle ride in aid on breakthrough breast cancer. So if anyone feels the urge to to part with a couple of quid I would be very greatful. She managed to raise around £45 so far but never set up a Just Giving page so I have done this for ease of donations. If you would like to donate please follow the link below. Also I will be wearing her neon pink tutu, fishnet tights and fishnet top for the ride http://www.justgiving.com/Trevor-Doig Many many thanks for you time and help Trevor
  2. you could try here they have a nice selection.
  3. OK cheers guys, I'll have a look at all your suggestions and see what I can get. you all been a great help. Thanks Trevor
  4. thanks for the great suggestions folks I think i'd be more inclined to go with the maverick option for my youngest. My eldest has a maverick mt which seems to be ok except for the motor/esc incidents... I dont really want a smaller scale car for them as dont think the lil'un would be to pleased... all i'd hear from him is " I want to play with the big cars" lol The Losi desert truck looks alright and if it takes a beating then thats even better. My 3yr old had a go of my emaxx! crashed it straight away lol now he only steers while I have my finger on the trigger lol
  5. Hey guys, 2 of my boys (7 and 3) keep pestering me and their elder brother to take our cars out on a daily basis so was thinking about getting them their own cars so they leave mine alone lol But the only prob I have is where do I start? I should have around
  6. sounds like how my boys MT went. The motor had died after half a dozen runs at the most. but not sure if it was the way he was driving it though, it looked kinda melted inside?! replced it and then the esc kinda had a melt down a few runs later (but think that got wet cos he ran it in longish wet grass) replaced that and all is good now.
  7. thanks for the advice spud, once I get the new internals i'll give that a go too
  8. I'm not saying I disagree with you, in fact I think you have been treated very poorly. I was just trying to give a bit of an insight into the average posties day. I'd say about 70% of royal mail delivery staff dont give a monkeys about customers and there mail/parcels anymore purely because of the way things have changed behind the scenes at it were over the past couple of years and the attitude of there line managers and the so called delivery best practice / world class mail intiatives etc... pulled out of a hat by the directors and what not. I know customer services are a bit rubbish and all some of them seem to do is pass the buck at every oppurtunity but that can be said for a fair few other companies too but that doesnt happen all of the time to all of the customers. And as for the union... well.... what can say? not a lot really lol in some respects they are worse than royal mail but in others they can be a blessing. lol he may as well have just give it you, how pointless was that? lol if it were me you wouldnt have got it unless you showed you actually lived there but then I try and do my job properly cos cant afford to lose it lol
  9. Have you proof that it was sent when they say they sent it? was it 1st class 2nd class standard parcels etc?? 1st class you usually have to allow 1 to 3 working days 2nd is 2 to 5 working days and standard parcels is 3 to 7 working days (saturdays and sundays are not counted as working days). Nothing is classed as lost/missing until 3 weeks have passed but if you want to make a claim for lost / damaged or delayed mail, pop into your local delivery office and ask for a P58 form but that can take a few weeks to get sorted out because an investigation has to be carried out etc If you didnt want to wait you should have paid for special delivery and you would have had the next working day after posting. Its not often things go missing so just be patient and you should get it soon enough...
  10. lol I started just as the so called way foward came into being... we dont start til 6 now but they wanna make it around 7 soon..... Wish I could just walk out but have no chance at the moment tut lol
  11. lol I hear these "I was at home, the postman didnt knock" stories all the time...... I posted a sorry you were out card to one house and I was there well over 5 minutes (twice as long as royal mail tell us we're allowed to wait for) knocked twice and rang the bell twice, the next day I was in the callers office and a guy came in for the same parcel and started shouting at me saying he was in and nobody knocked on his door.... so did I just imagine knocking on his door?? I think not lol Like I tell my customers on delivery and in the callers office, it takes twice as long to write out a card than it does to knock on a door and no postman I know likes writing the bloody things out and lugging your parcels around all day. As for the times we deliver now, thats because Royal mail have made so many cuts it makes it impossible to deliver even a third of our delivery before 12... Half the time we are not allowed to start our delivery until 10-10:30 and the walks are around 4 hours each compared to the 1:30-2 hour walks we used to do back when there were 2 deliveries a day. We also have to absorb walks too, which is when the company decide to take out a delivery from the office and split it up between other postmen which can account for irregular delivery times as some people will do a half an hour absorption before their own delivery where as others will do it after their own delivery. And all those poxy leaflets!!! noone want to deliver those!! We used to get paid extra to do those if we wanted to do them (a maximum of 3 per house per week) but no we HAVE to deliver them and there is NO LIMIT as to how many we have to do in a week and the subsidy we got for doing them before has been taken away. So... with all this rubbish and more (which I could bleet on about but think i've boared you all enough now lol) is it any wonder all postmen have turned grumpy?? lol Think I just went off on one there.... sorry lol
  12. on a single crash with my emaxx I broke Front skid plate, Front bulk heads, Front arm pins, Drive shaft, Both bell crank posts, Servo saver, Body shell and Front bumper I've buggered a lipo and now have a chewed up front diff....
  13. had a look and yeah auto is the default ok cool, i'll give that a whirl to. i'd like to keep my tranny intact for as long as possible lol cheers chaps
