Nice , I just took mine out for its first blast, real quick, loads of grunt but got chucked off the huge field I was on by security after 3 minutes due to someone apparently complaining. Will go to a bmx track next time

In a moment of madness I actually bought the traxxas ones, once I had started spending it was difficult for me to stop! I'll see how I get on with these then will look at other options if I need to. I might get time to try it today but just seeing if I need to do any maintenance/checks before I set off

Thank you for your advice, it's a pain really as for the money I would have hoped not to need to change anything and just enjoy it out of the box, there are 2 used maxx's on ebay i'm watching but I'm tempted to go and pickup the v2 later this afternoon. With regards to 8s running, is the traxxas charger and the incuded batteries worth it, or can I save myself £££ and use my current charger and some turnigys? that might swing it for me just to get the v2. I'm hoping this one rc will replace the 8 rc's I have lol thanks

Looking for a bit of advice guys, I've been wanting an xmaxx for a while now but I don't know whether to buy a brand new v2 and change out the esc if the new 8s esc is causing issues or to buy a used v1 and also change the esc but not do the upgrade kit as it doesn't seem worth the money when you can buy the v2 for £200 more. And also if the v2 is best to start with whether I need to go with the traxxas charger and lipo kit for £300 I'm not too fussed about running 8s so what would be the best option? thanks

Yeah its's all wired correctly, I had a spare 60a so I've wired that up the same way and it's working fine, first time I've used a 3s and jeez its quick! the pace is what i've wanted out of an rc for a long time! after a few runs I have no throttle though, just steering, then a few mins later it's all ok, is that normal? I'm guessing the esc is at a thermal cut off or something? cheers for the reply.

Bought a 3s lipo today, charged it up and did a test without the pinion gear on. I tried fowards to near max throttle with no real problems but could smell slight burning(originally thought the motor), so let off, tried brake/reverse and serious smoke coming out the esc, tried fowards, no smoke and seemed ok but tried brake/reverse again and loads more smoke and sparking! the esc still turns on but I know the next time I hit the brake there will most likely be a fire Any ideas with whats going on?
