  1. I use exactly the same set up, Losi 454 with OS 8. Search ebay and you'll find them from HKG at around 3 quid each if you buy 6 or more. Last lot I bought arrived within 10days. Sorry not smart enough to do a link thing.
  2. I own both these trucks. For me HPI is better for bashing, ie Truggy is easier to drive and better over rough ground. But Hyper is a lot tougher, never had to replace any parts/linkages on the Hyper. Replaced loads on the HPI. Both good fun and parts are easy to come by.
  3. Anthoop. Without even knowing me you assume I cant line up a starter box properly. I am only passing on my experience to the guy who started the thread. Also Lipo is way lighter, makes the box much easier to carry around.
  4. Warming it up made no difference to mine to be honest. Lead acid battery still didn't overcome the compression. Turnigy lipo spins it over no problem. Paid about
  5. Using a 14.8v lipo transformed mine. With a 12v lead acid it struggled to turnover my LOSI 8, Lipo makes it easy. Well worth the cash.
  6. Definitely running lean at idle/low end. Most probably a leak somewhere. I had the same engine, loads of tuning problems until I discovered sealing an engine. Well worth it.
  7. Sounds like it's flooded. No need for the choke at all in this weather. Take plug out, tip car upside down and pull a couple of times to empty cylinder. Plug back in, no choke and try again. Good luck.
  8. Gotta agree with the previous post. Fix the pull start, but get a starter box for regular use. Pull start comes in handy when you're well away from your tool box. 10mins setting up the starter box properly will pay you back big time.
  9. Tighten up the servo saver too. At stock there's loads of play in it. Which gives sloppy stearing.
  10. Losi 454 is the same. Factory settings are miles off. Way too lean.
  11. New plugs are less than 3 quid on ebay. Simple.
  12. The chargers voltage will always be higher than the battery. It has to be!! Otherwise it won't charge. The amount of current ie amps is set on the charger or it is a fixed value depending on charger. If you can vary the current supply. Usual recommendation is set it to half the battery rating. In your case 0.9 amps.
  13. Not so sure about that. Compare the glow of a metered one with an identical one but with the meter bypassed. Much brighter!!
  14. I've had a few cheapo ones and they're crap. Personally I would stay away from metered ones. Meter takes some power away from the battery. Best one I have is a LOSI twist on. Got from US ebay.
  15. On pure engine choice I'd go for the HPI. Both my HPi engines have been bomb proof, easy to start and tune. That one seems like a bargain. Just make sure it fits ok. When I put a larger HPi motor into my Hyper 7 it needed a few spacers and tweaks.
