  1. Hi guys, I was just wondering whether any of the parts on the Savage XS could feasibly be used on the old E-savage and whether anybody has tried using any bits and pieces of it??
  2. Would this be suitable for use in an E-saavage or E-revo, at 2s but dual 7.2v to begin with, if so which do yoguys reckon would run best with fitted http://www.modelspor...-products/33193 Thanks in advance
  3. Hi all, I picked up a 5t a while ago having had an MCD evo 2 previously, and having just completed a 5th tank through, i can't help noticing that i am terribly poor at driving this thing quickly, every time i try to take a corner quickly i end up rolling it. This isn't all the trucks fault either as i have fitted uber rc hub extender and lowered the ride height as well as filling the rear shocks with 15wt shock oil. . I was just wondering whether you have got any tips to help me improve my driving, i was thinking of getting some cones and making a kind of mini track and slowly building up my speed, any other ideas.
  4. That depend essentially on how you drive your RC's and how many options you have when driving them; for instance if you intend to race then the marder is keeper, however, if you have areas where you can feasibly bash and want to do that kind of thing with your RC then the Baja is definately the way forward cos it will jump better, and take more of beating than the marder can without a shadow of a doubt. However, if you only have grass fields and few jumps nearby i probably wouldn't sugest getting one, as that is similar to what i did; i sold my MCD Evo 3 which had been hopped up to make it quite reliable for my use which is on the grass fields with few jumps, but then having seen all the hype on the baja, i was slightly overwhelmed and thought i was missing out a bit by having the evo 3 which usually had problems every three or foru tanks anyway, consequently i went and purchased a brand new 5t of mmr and i have had fun with it, but certainly not as much as i could've had with and evo 4, this is simply becos it doesn't handle as good as the mcd and rolls around a fair bit, and i certainly feel when driving it that i am not getting the most, and exploring fully the abilities of something i just spend in excess of a grand on. However, every time i think of selling it, i also think that i will at some point find the perfect place to take it and use it too it's maximum potential.
  5. As nitroholic said you just definately avoid nitrotek as do not have a good customer service rating, having said that i met a guy who had bought fusion electric model from them in kit form and his actually seemed like quite a nice bit of kit. However, if u want a good deal your best bet is definately to go on ebay or you can check the 'sale' threads of forums like this one or baja uk forum and you may also manage to get yourself what you want at the price you want it. these look good: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3cbb424233 or if u want something which is more of a racig machine these could be possible options: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1c1e3a18c3 http://www.ebay.co.u...=item20bc0c4bb5 Also, i'm not sure what experince you have had with fg marders, but from what i have heard and seen they can take a good beating and they can race pretty well also, so they provide the perfect common ground in my opinon and wheelspin modle stock a faor few of them and they go for cheap on ebay as well. In addition FTX offer some reliable kit and for more info ring up freeprawn racing an he will give you a vast amount of reliable info on them. The mcd, FTX, and FG marder are all smaller and look less impressive than the baja, but what i recommend if you have your heart set on a baja is to go to mmr racing and have go on ian's one; he allowed me to do this prior to the purchase of a new 5t, so if you ask politely he may do the same for you!
  6. looks like a nice bit kit you've got urself there mate, but the evo 3 is known for being brittle, but if you don't abuse it like a 5t then i'm sure it can provide great fun. I remember a time when rossmod themselves were giving what i thought were great deal on brand new ones just to shift them, how much did u get this one for??
  7. Hi all, I am thinking of ordering around about three items to a total of artound
  8. Hi all, I'v just bought a GV rhino buggy at a really cheap price and having run it is really slow in comparison to my other cars/trucks, so i am thinking of upgrading it, however, unfortunately i can't find any shops which keep a stock of parts for this model and also i am unsure as to what kind of powertrain the drivetrain can handle - is brushless an option?? I was just wondering whether u guys had any experience with this particular model and could aid me in making a decision on what to get, any help is welcome! Thanks

  10. Thanks a bunch for the info mate, i'm going to check that the carb, and it's gaskets as well as the head gasket to ensure they are secured properly and also i am going to just take of th carb and clean it out - if i don't fix this issue then, then i think i'll probably take it back to mmr for there dignosis.
  11. One of the screws was slightly out of it's mounting part. Do u reckon it woudl be a good idea to take of the ehad gasket to make sure that piston, head and head gasket are alrite and don't need replacing??
  12. Hi all, I was driving the 5t last week and noticed that there was a sudden drop in power and the truck would no longer go a s fast as it had done previously, i inspected the truck further to find the root of the issue and couldn't really work it out. I noticed the exhaust was a bit loose, (but surely that can't have caused such a sudden drop in power), i looked at the piston and found no score marks on it. The only thing i think could be the cause is dust/dirt in the carburrettor, but i'm not sure on how to go about cleaning it, do i need to do a full rebuild or would taking it off and brushing is down and changng the gaskets be sufficient to clean it out. If i do need to do a full rebuild does anyone know how to breakdown the stock walbro carb on the 5t? Also do u guys reckon there could be another cause for the problem??
  13. looks like the softcase will be perfect for my kind of bashing if they can survive what that nutter' puts them though...loool i'm looking specifically at these batteries: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/turnigy-5000mah-2-cell-20c-30c-lipo-7-4-volt-/260765944815?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item3cb6dc8bef
  14. Which are best hardcase lipos or soft case lipos for reasonably softcore bashing. Because i imagine that eventually both batteries will puff up eventually, surely it will be more noticeable with the soft cases so the changes of them exploding is less - is this correct or should i get hardcase ones??
