Lol made me chuckle. I currently have a xc bike too a 2011 specialized epic expert carbon lovely bike to ride just It don't get the adrenalin pumping like dh does. Hopefully I won't be breaking too many bones but tbh I expect to break some bones, already broke Atleast 1 bone in most sports I have done lol

Ohh dear do you regret giving it up?? Your totally correct with the gear I would hate 1peice armor etc, like my bike leathers are 1peice and that is jut a pain when you go to a meet and you can't take them off else you have to carry the blooming heavy things about with you.

can you get any pictures of it? i could tell you if its eligable for a smart repair? for a full repair which will most likely include blending depending if it is a solid or metalic i would expect it to cost in the region off

i totaly get what you mean mate i will only be going for a dh specific bike looking to spend around 2-3k as for gear i know where your coming from when i used to do mx i would sweating like crazy but i would never ditch any protection gear. What gear do you wear? I will be riding at Combe Sydenham and out the quantocks Done that before doing xc and i agree it is painful lol Yea i shall be mate looking for somthing with 200mm travel medium to large size frame and 2011 or newer. The new scott gambler 2013 looks rather yummy Cheers for the advice i ride alot of xc currently got a Specialized carbon epic which is a dream to ride, i go to a local bmx race track for flow sections and alot of pumping and air. yea there is an uplift event at my local dh track this weekend where hopfully some national riders will be practicing so hopfully try and have a couple words with them if i can. I know what you mean by gear im pretty hot on having the best gear, last helmet i had was a tld and before that i had an Airoh one, a leatt brace is on my list as a must have. cheers rich

Hi everyone am going to be starting up DH soon and just wondering if anyone else on the forum does it. Been riding bikes for years and tried many types of riding and just wondering if anyone could shed some tips and tricks for this style of riding and any advice for a newb? cheers Rich
