check the wiring on the ezstarts first take glow plug out so no compression and connect a battery to the ezstart motors see if they turn (the wand has protection built in to prevent frying the ezstart motor if the engine is locked). If they do then re wire first and check the wands again, the contacts can get corroded so try cleaning them up. I would say its unlikely both wands are broken but if it does end up being that just get one second hand one to start both models. One thing to do is not use the wand for the glowstart, use a seperate glowstart. the traxxas pullstarts are rubbish in my experience (i managed to break a brand new one within 20 pulls on a tmax 2.5) so if you go down that route get a different make.

I dont see the advantage of the connectors assessable from both sides. In fact its going to make the terminals effectively swap sides which is going to increase the chances of plugging in the wrong way, most of us will visually check quickly but would mainly go on habit of positive on certain side. to me that looks like the wheel is slightly twisted at the hex. Not sure HPI would do anything about it as it could be caused by incorrect storage after it left the factory. A bit of heat might correct it, like taking wheel off and putting in in window in direct sunlight to try let the plastic return to normal shape. I would suggest boiling water but that would debond the tyre. Im no expert and could be wrong, just offering a possible reason for it.

yeah 2 cell lipos is the way forward. Just make sure your ESC has a lipo protection setting on it, if not you will need an external one. You will need lipo battery, lipo capable charger and lipo protector if it not built in. when you upgrade to brushless its most likely the brushless esc will have built in lipo mode. when you switch to lipo batteries you will notice more punch. when you then switch to brushless motor with the lipos it will be like a completely new car. much faster and punchier. I started with a second hand brushed monster truck that was well ******* not great. put a brushless and lipos on it and it jumped from 20mph to 50 mph and turned into a wheelie monster, trouble was the car I had just wasnt strong enough and kept breaking. At least with the firestorm you have one that is designed to be brushless and has a good reputation for withstanding the high speed crashes you will have pushing the limits.

Ok so I ordered a couple of Imax clone chargers from HK UK the other day cos i could get 2 for the price they were selling the real ones for. As I understand it the way to tell the genuine ones from the copies is the presence of a holagraphic sticker on the back, so i look on the back of the ones I recieived and they have holagraphic stickers on. Have I got lucky and got a pair of genuine ones for the price of a pair of known copies (aprox half the price) or are the copiers putting the labels on now. I guess what im asking is how to tell the difference? obviously im happy any way cos i bought declared copies.

The only weekend I am fully clear is 12/13th October though am also free Saturday 26th October, Great Yarmouth would be local for me same as Smash, but im up for traveling if there going to be a few there. need to know fairly soon if its going ahead to arrange to borrow the car.
