Hi! Yeah I’ve been into the hobby a while but mostly tinker with stuff. Used to have a group on here back years ago that I went bashing with.

Does anyone in the Surrey area still go bashing? I’ve not been in years and don’t know if anyone is still around the area and fancies organising a bash somewhere?
I’m in Egham, Surrey and have a Baja and an e firestorm. Anyone else?

Right so about 6 weeks ago I bought a used Baja 5b from nitroholic (thanks mate!) and set about cleaning, restoring, replacing worn parts and here’s the finished article 🙂
New wing, body, bead locks, pull start, cv gaitors, exhaust coupling and various screws. Haven’t fired it up yet but lubed the engine with afterun oil after I picked it up few more adjustments to do and electrics all in and tested.

My Baja that I’ve been refurbishing didn’t come with roll bars should I fit them or not bother?
ive not driven it yet so have no idea how it drives anyway will be run on grass general bashing only

I’d happily buy something that needs fixing up as I too get more enjoyment stripping thing down and rebuilding them, problem is the rough one people still want too much money for when you factor in just a few parts your almost up to hmthat 650 one that looks mint but then you could have problems with that too.
I think in general a lot of people seem to want far too much money for rc cars, some are cheaper to buy brand new!

Found a good supplier of original spur gears from the US on eBay. Ordered myself 4 a couple weeks ago and arrived today! I won’t be running out anytime soon not that I’ve ever stripped one but they do wear out!

This is only compatible if you have the ball diff fitted.
Very hard to get these now as everywhere’s out of stock.

I’m looking at possibly getting a Baja but have no idea what they are realistically worth in say excellent second hand condition? I know this might be hard to answer as will vary depending on spare including and hop up extra?
This is for sale local to me, wants £630 for it all including spares and a stand fs gt3 radio (not needed) looks like some nice extras and says only used a couple times.

Yeah looks like that’s the only option and stripping down to check/replace parts on a used I do anyway.
is there a definitive way to know if a Baja is a genuine HPI one over the copies (not that a copy bothers me but price would be more)??
