  1. Hey, have you tryed here: http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/ Its were I found mine (engineering ) and im starting in the next few months Very hard to get into, but after 2 intiviews (Totaling 4 hours ) I was lucky enough to get it!! Apply to any thing and everything!! Only thing is you have left it a bit late as most people start intiviews around january so might be worth doing another year at collage and applying again next year Cheers, Dan
  2. Im just a bit causious when putting the back plate on incase i do the bolts up to tight and they pull through the plastic Im a bit heavy handed Thanks again, Dan
  3. Thanks for all the tips. Going to get parts for it tomorrow, and will seal the back plate and carb. The back plate on the xt2 is plastic which tbh I dont think is great! Im sure what you told me to do with the LSN will solve my problem because I have not touched the LSN since I bought it
  4. Sunday bump.... Not going to end the auction but just incase anyone wants to bid
  5. Yes, im also running on modeltechnics 16% fuel. What % of byrons would you recommend? I have read through the tuning guides and have the 1mm gap in the carb but the tick over is still up and down all the time, and the car is hard to start unless you are using the throtal I didnt get the chance to get the parts yesturday so will hopefully get them tomorrow with new fuel and glow plug! Thanks, Dan
  6. Im hopefuly going to get a new OWB and glow plug for my car in a bit and wanted a bit more help The car is never that easy to start and becomes a bit harder to start when it gets hot. There is plent of smoke so im sure its not getting to hot unless its the glow plug im using? I got the plug they recomended in the hobby shop which was a medium I think ?? Also once the engine has been started and then needs to be restarted you have to use a lot of throtal to get it running again??? Im 99% sure my problems are with my needle settings but I just what to know what one do I need to adjust? I think my HSN is probaly OK, but I try to aviod the LSN and leave it at factory settings as im not 100% about tuning it So do these symptons ring a bell to anyone? What does the problem sound like to you... Also one last thing.... the idle screw tends to be screwed in most of the way to keep it ticking over, and the tick over tends to keep changing (Reving higher and lower) Thanks, Dan
  7. Sounds like a nice car... will be interesting to see how strong it is when bashing Got any photos of it, as I like looking at shiney things
  8. I just went on the the red cat website were they are selling them for $300 http://www.redcatracing.com/RC-Cars/1-8-Scale-Nitro-Ultralite-Series But hey... I cant see much of a risk paying through paypal as like you say, the worst that will happen is you get your money back
  9. If the engine is reving higher would it be much less reliable? I voted the picco but only becaust I have read a lot of good reviews about them and kind of want one my self But its a big price tag for a little engine
  10. Well if I buy the new engine it can always be used in the next model I get ( A revo hopefully ) Im starting an apprentiship in a few months and I will be getting quite a bit of money each week, and nothing to spend it on apart from RC :tease: :topbanana: :insane:
  11. My local hobby stores stocks all the spacres or can order them in. Only problem is they can be a bit expensive some times but its better than waiting a few weeks
  12. I dont even know what the bear is, but he sure is all over the forum
  13. Lol, i have already does that about 3 times The pull start works fine once its cleaned, but as soon as you start it up and fuel gets in the engine it starts to slip again
  14. Ye, one way bearing is the only thing stopping it at the moment Im thinking about upgrading the engine to a picco 28 as its going to be
  15. I also have an xtm xt2 and was thinking about getting a more powerfull engine... Will the picco 28 engine fit strait into this, and would the power of the engine damage any thing ?? Cheers, Dan
  16. I have not really had much of a chance to test the car much yet due to a few engine problems and a few nuts and bolts coming lose I was thinking about getting another engine and finally having a good go of the car
  17. I have had my xt2 a few months. (Not the race edition) I have had a few problems, however I bought it second hand so im bound to get problems Recently the one way bearing has started slipping and from what I have read on the internet its a very common problem for the xt2 engine Its also become very hard to start lately... When its up and running its a great car... but from what I have read I wish I bought a hyper 7. The H7 is also a much more popular car so its easy to get cheap second hand parts on ebay
  18. Just incase anyone is interested here is my spitfire for sale on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110718429936
  19. Now on ebay for just 99p http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110718395918
  20. I think its time to sell my xt2 and buy a hyper 7 if your only spending £6 on spare parts each month All i seem to get with mine is problem after problem.... might start saving for a hyper Ohhh... and by the way your orange hyper does look amazing
  21. For sale is my saito FA-82a four stroke engine. I bought it about a year a go and it was fitted to a spitfire model which had been built but never flown. I was told the engine had been ran twise on the bench to run it in. I also ran the engine once in the model but never flew it as I was not really experianced enough to fly the plane at the time. So the engine has only had 3 tanks through it, and is in as new condition as you can see from the photos. (It does have a few small marks and exhaust has a few petrol stains) As I said the engine has not been started in a year and has been sat in my bedroom ever since I got into rc cars, so I can not guarantee it will run. But im sure it will be fine with a new glow plug and maybe need the carb cleaning (?) as its hardly been used. It even comes with the box, however I have lost the manual for it. It did start and run fine when I last started it, and the compression on it is very good. As its a 4 stroke its great for scale models and sounds much better than a screaming 2 stroke The engine still cost around £220 so im looking for around £115 posted or £110 collected (Southampton) I will probally put the engine on an auction on ebay if it does not sale as i know a car forum is not really the right place to sell plane engines Thanks, Dan
  22. Looks like a mini moto engine
  23. Ok, i will give that a try tomorrow Anyone got any ideas about the servo problem ?
