  1. that's a real nice supra amellor03! i'm just waiting on the chassis right now... my wheels arrived today. very nice rota copies. now i hope the offset is correct... and thanks for the compliments guys, only ever painted 3 shells. i think i'm getting the swing of things.
  2. the instructions were a bit off and showed me to pit it there. i then realized it was two numbers mixed up and switched then i also adjusted the front light surrounds so they fit properly. its getting better by the minute. thanks for the comments guys.
  3. decided i wanted to try my hand at some proper drifting, after buying some cheapy ansmann drift wheels for my nitro touring car and not getting the hang of it.... so i firts started hunting around for a nice chassis, and got offered a cheap yokomo mr-4tc sd. (anyone know where i can get some upgrades?) and i bought a new shell and some wheels. the shell arrived first so i got to masking an painting it. i was expecting to get the chassis i had bought soon, eagerly waiting by the door for the postman and this dropped into my lap. hmmm, not quite what i was expecting... the guy put the wrong postage label on his packets. he was very sorry and is now sorting the problem. he evn said i could keep the screws painting went well and i am especially pleased with the lights. i shall update it as i get new bits arriving.
  4. selling my mamba monster brushless system, served me well for the last year. i originally swapped this for a savage and since then the price of new ones has risen, but i'm taking into consideration the condition of this system, one of the motor wires has a split and it has been heatshrinked, the speed controller is in almost new condition, and is fitted with ec5 bullet connectors. the battery is a 4s 6000mah turnigy nanotech, i wrapped it in tape to protect it, i'm pricing it at sold. perfect for a brushless truggy/monster build or a insane 1/8 on road car. battery on its own is
  5. its all sorted now thanks.
  6. its all on the build thread, just scroll through, there is a running video too. but i can take any particular pictures that you want...
  7. I spent a week throwing together some parts to make this truck, it was basically an experiment to see if i could get rear trailing arms to work in 1/8th scale, and after fettling and fixing i have managed to make it work. runs on on a custom hum-vee roll cage made from steel. has a great scale presence, also has Hong Nor big bore shocks which make for a very smooth ride. the main chassis is made from a gv rex x buggy and sections of Mdf, they need to be cleaned up and neatened and would be an awesome project. i'm pricing the roller at
  8. well after a few weeks of building it i have some to a standstill, haven't run it at all this week and its sitting looking lonely. i was wondering would anybody want to buy this chassis? with all the electrics minus radio. i'm putting it in the sales section if anyone's interested.
  9. sounds perfect mate pm'd
  10. sounds like it could be the clutch, swap it over to run a 3 shoe setup. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ansmann-3-Shoe-Clutch-Set-/310436946084?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item48477be0a4&_uhb=1#ht_1522wt_1271
  11. might swap my mamba monster system with a 4s battery for a really decent setup.
  12. found these, might work well with the theme. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Team-Associated-SC10-Wheels-/120993157405?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item1c2bc1111d&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1288
  13. those are some tasty tires. wouldn't mind a set, but so far i have spent the grand total of..... Nothing Building this car, So i can afford to splash the cash on some real scale looking stuff. Thinking maybe some ally sheet for the panels, working brake lights and some rally/baja style flood lights. Possibly a spare tire on the back. make it sick.
  14. as i remember it the engine didn't have very much oomh to give, its a similar story with the kyosho alpha. the only dud bit was the engine... on the other hand the thunder tiger engines of similar size walk all over them. just a better design i suppose.
  15. thanks for the praise guys but its not anywhere near finished. what i need to do now is tear it all down, rebuild all of the components and get it nice and clean/smooth. make a new chassis that incorporates all of the components. get some new wheels/tires (anyone got some good scale suggestions?) and fit some lexan body panels to the cage, then add lights.
  16. quck run i did earlier which shows the noise, i think its the rear propshaft grubscrew coming loose that's making the noise.
  17. i remember driving one of those Tamiya nitros at a track about 2 years ago, and it was painfully slow, but i think it might have been on its last legs. how quick is this one?
  18. WELL.... after looking at the diff that was in the car i noticed it was reasonably warn, which was causing it to slip and make a really loud clicking noise under acceleration. so i had a snoop about my stuff and found an unused hong nor diff. which fitted almost perfectly. but after a quick blast (forgot to get my camera out sorry ) the diff started making a similar noise. not sure if its the diff just yet, but i'm pretty sure... but on the upside, this thing is really quite quick, and it handles in a very scale way. which makes for a fun drive.

its a cool vintage buggy, might be a bit of a challenge to find parts, but a cool buy

    Whats this?

    traxxas nitro hawk. i think.
  21. i have it sorted now, a couple of links from hubs to diff case solved the dogbone issue, but i get a loud click from the car as it accelerates which i suspect is a diff issue.
