Bump still got this laying around.

Yeah its no bother if it sells or not, spares are always handy, I'm near Blackpool mate, Ill drop it off for anyone within 30-40 miles but Sheffield just a bit far.

Its not worth the time packing and taking the post office for what Id see out of that mate.

Traxxas XL5 esc, this is the newer model that is lipo capable and has LVC, bought 14 months ago from modelsport, works perfectly.

A update to this, the FTX motor lasted around 8 runs, a mate put one in his after seeing mine and his lasted around 5 runs, temps were not bad so not sure what killed them but that's that, I picked up a cheap velenion system a few weeks ago so Ill be putting that in his stampede and be done with brushed.

2s will probably be on par with the 9.6v nicd.

A quick few comparison pics, the pinion shaft is a lot shorter, you can see in the last pic if I were to try and get the motor gear pinion more inline with the spur gear then the pinion screw wont screw down on the shafts flat edge so that's as good as it gets. A quick 15 minute run and the motors barely warm, seems to have a bit more torque, wheelies a bit easier, Ill give it a better run out tomorrow and update but so far seems like a good replacement.

Yeah will do I've emailed modelsport to see what they think about putting a smaller pinion on it but will try it as is for now and just keep a eye on temps. Quick edit modelsport replied and thinks the standard gearing will be ok.

I did look at that combo Nitro but it not been waterproof put me off. Ordered the FTX motor so that's on its way but... I soaked the titan motor in real hot soapy water for half an hour then gave it a good rinse blasting with the tap then dipped it in a cup off oil, let it dry off and its working again, not sure how long it will last but for anyone else worth trying before throwing old motors in the bin.

Yeah will give it a shot, with it been 15t as opposed to 12t will I need to adjust the gearing ?

Yeah going to replace my vxl with a castle combo in a few months so will give him that but wouldn't mind something to just put him on. Had a bit of a read about and yeah not many people have anything good to say about the titan motors so anything I can throw in for now ? Hello all, the titan 12t 550 motor on one of my lads stampedes no longer wants to work so any recommendation for a replacement or shall I get another of the same ? Quite happy with the speed and run times using the motor so I'm edging to just getting another but lemme know your thoughts.
