  1. Got a big box in the post from Horizon Hobby today. Opened it up and discovered the petrol LST inside!!!! Kinda caught me by surprise as I wasn't expecting it to come in for a couple of weeks I had a couple of hours of deciding if to run it or not as I can't be bothered to get involved with the whole Savage Octane scene. Anyhow, decided to bite the bullet and give it a whirl. OMG so glad I did. I decided just to see if I could get it started. The thing fired up first time on stock settings and just sat there ticking over perfectly, so decided to give it a run. Had the thing blasting round the car park straight away, nothing more dramatic than just had to turn down the AVC a bit and back the brakes off. Towards the end of the run I leaned it out a click and the thing was seriously flying!!! I ran it for about 20mins before I had to put it to bed for the night. Looked at the tank and was shocked to see it had only used
  2. These are designed to help with jumping and landings. http://www.freeprawnracing.co.uk/fid-floating-requlator-pistons-for-losi-5ive-t.html Basically there are two one way valves andfour open holes in each piston which means the shock is harder to compress than it is to rebound. Don't get me wrong, not tried um yet though!!!! Nige.
  3. Are you thinking of racing down the Nook or are you just going to be bashing? Nige.
  4. Hiya, Don't buy the Losi ones!! The best ones to get are the Zenoah ones :- http://www.freeprawnracing.co.uk/zenoah-cy-exhaust-gasket-g230-240-260-270-z1140-13141.html As for your steering best advice I can give is make sure your servo saver is wound up as tight as it goes, believe it or not it's much kinder on the steering servo than to leave it baggy Nige.
  5. Hiya, Yup of course we do Nige.
  6. Not true!!! If you take the bonus points into account, the price is exactly the same. But you can get free shipping from us, you have to pay Wheelspin at least
  7. Notts and Derby Raceway (Opposite Nottingham Ikea) has bash days on a saturday.
  8. I'm going to be there Saturday and Sunday, I'm not Racing though this time. I will be bringing Stock spares for the Losi 5ive T & DBXL and HPI Baja as well as a bunch of general Radio and engine stuff. If you want anything specific bringing be sure to let me know before hand. Nige.
  9. Hiya guys, Thanks Wally for the heads up about this. Well toot ma horn and call me Sheila, yes you have found a bug with the iPad and my site!!!! My site was fully tested with iPad, IPhone etc but it looks like the recent IOS updates have broken that menu a bit Until I get a proper fix I have changed the menu on the home page so now at least with an iPad you can enter the categories, once in there, there are links, if you want to drill down into the sub categories. Hope thats better for now, Nige.
  10. Depends how good the car is, but most probably I'll be there. Problem is the 5ive is just so reliable and so much fun to race it's going to take a lot to top it!! Nige.
  11. Lol didn't answer the question. No I won't be running the stocker. I'll be fitting my race engine in it off the bat. A 23cc engine is fine though, if it's not got enough poke for you invest
  12. Well, I think the engine and radio gear it comes with is great to be honest. The radio uses a SR410 receiver, which is the same one that comes with the DX4!!! So basically the handset is just there (disposable lol) to make it a RTR. Even if you don't already have a decent Spektrum Radio to use with the receiver at least it's going to be worth something to a friend or on the Bay. Now the engine thing just reminds me of the Punisher. It first came with a 23cc CY which was great cos it was cheap, reliable, plenty of spares available and easily upgradeable. Perfect for beginners and useful in bits to experienced owners. Don't forget a 23cc engine with stock stroke crank will rev it's nuts off, so get the thing geared and tuned right and you can have alot of fun with a standard 23 It'll depend how it's geared out the box and what clutch it has got to be honest. If it comes with a 8000rpm clutch it'll be cool, if it don't fit one and it'll make it loads more fun Nige.
  13. The racers (not that we know owt special lol) rule of thumb is that you can change the throttle shaft 3 times before you have to bin the carb. The throttle shaft wears quicker than the carb body and can be replaced relatively cheaply and easily. So as long as it's not mullered, you can fix it Nige.
  14. Sneak a look!!!! I'm gonna stick a 30.5cc Champ ported ESP lump in one and go racing I'll be at the Nook on the 29th and/or Nene Valley on the 5th Jan (Most prob. Nene), depending on the weather forecast, to give it a royal good tonking round the track. I know someone who we all know and trust who will be putting his thoughts about the car on here as soon as he gets it on Wednesday Most spares are in stock too, just in case lol. Nige.
  15. Eco friendly cars will be more than welcome Nige.
  16. Yes, as soon as I get my hands on some I'll get a list together. Nige.
  17. Just be careful guys, I have been waiting for them to send me my order for Double servo savers for over a month now and still haven't received my order or even have an expected delivery date yet!!! They don't seem to use the most reliable of couriers!! Shame really as the do some very cool stuff, if they can ever manage to get it shipped to anyone!!!! Nige.
  18. Lol, they even copied the box!!!!! Nige.
  19. If you can't find anything let us know, we'll be more than happy to sort you out. Nige.
  20. You need one of these :- http://www.freeprawnracing.co.uk/fastrax-tyre-hole-punch.html Put a couple of holes in your tyres, sounds daft as you'd think it would let water in!!!! But of course centrifugal force expels the water from your tyres as you run your car. Nige.
  21. Wow good work on the shock tower!!! I have only ever sold one before and that was to a guy (Don't worry Tony I'll not tell anyone who it was lol) who bent it after hitting a metal gate post flat out!!! He straightened it and used it for a year before buying the new one as he happen to notice the straightening had made it slightly crooked!!!! I think you were extremely unlucky to bend yours Nige.
  22. Castrol R is/was more or less straight Castor oil. I used to see it used alot in 4 stroke dry sump grass track car engines. Where even more would put a dollop in there fuel tank to make the exhaust gases smell nice!! Castor oil was/is still one of the best lubricants out there for 2 stroke engines too although over time there has been a huge development in the synthetic side of the oil to clear up the mess caused my it's messy nature. The modern equivalent of Castrol R for two stroke use is Castrol 747, great oil for off road cars where torque is more important than revs motors. Or the excellent Maxima Castor 927. Both smell nice ;o) Nige.
  23. Erm, he was racing in the A final!! does that not count as watching it???? Nige.
  24. There is a great article in this Months (October) Radio Race Car International written by Jerry who raced My Losi Available from all good newsagents and online via iTunes there are loads of pictures and Jerrys thoughts about the day. Nige.
  25. They work great, no downside apart from they are not allowed at competitions!! (Makes it easy lol) Nige.
