How to polish a turd with another turd
-
Roverman or Victor Meldrew are probably your best bet on here.

Where's yer proof noj? Giving it all shouty no's
It is fine if both packs are around he same age amongst other things.
To clarify, as i cba to read all the thread, Using a lower MAH pack with a higher MAH pack will see that the lower one discharges to the cut off point before the other.
Why? Because when the lower pack's Volts get to the threshold, The other larger pack will still have higher volts due to the higher MAH at this point, which will throw your ESC's LVC off as it cant tell exactly which battery the voltage is coming from.
For example, and im pulling these numbers out of thin air.
Battery 1: 3.2v -3.2v
Battery 2: 3.8v - 3.8v
Adding these voltages up gives us a reading of 14V, now the norm for cut-off is 3.2v (usually) which is 12.8v, so if we ran this combo down from 14v to 12.8v, the cells in the lower pack would then be beyond the 3.2v cut-off and risk damaging the pack beyond use.
This is why you dont mix different MAH ratings on lipo's.
Somebody else probably already pointed this out but i cba to read through all the tripe.
I emphasize the word RISK, if you know what your doing and know when to stop using the packs yourself, then by all means go ahead. But read up a bit on it before you delve deeper into the world of lipos.

I'm confused over the sony warranty thing
The phone was working, then it didnt, so he sent it off under warranty - surely under warranty means it would be fixed unless it was something like water damage?
I'd ask him to take a picture of the letter from sony and get him to send it to you (the pic of the letter from sony, not the phone lol)
If he has problems doing that he could always take a pic, upload it to photobucket etc etc etc
Then get in contact with sony and see if his story tallies up. The letter would have reference numbers etc won't it? Would be worth finding out why they couldn't/wouldn't repair a faulty earpiece if that was the problem
Maybe even phone ebay support and ask their opinion on what happens in these circumstances.
They did repair it, and replace the screws, but it still doesnt work. so there repair was shoddy if indeed done.

The exact same thing happened to me 2yrs ago nick, sold an iphone 3 that worked, broke a week later with the buyer. Didnt matter what was said, PP rewarded full refund. :|

Guys
My savage flux XL project is turning into a real money pit.
Last month I bought a used XL roller which was actually a converted Savage 25 with XL TVPs and a third party motor plate. It also came with a 1717 motor mount but this did not fit the fitted motor plate.
Having realised what it was, I then got a used Savage Flux roller which as the bulletproof drivetrain.
My idea was to combine the best parts of both:
Vehicle 1 : LST shocks, Integy lower arms and knuckles, XL TVPS
Vehicle 2 : Front and rear drive housings, diffs, transmission and RPM upper arms.
I also have a 1717 from a US chop shop
I finished cobbling the best bits together last night. It went together fine but I noticed that the Savage flux motor mount plate did not fit into the XL TVPs. If I can;t use the Flux motor mount plate, I can;t use the 1717 motor mount. Also I can;t see there is space for my 1717 in between the XL TVPs. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh!
Are there two different types of XL TVPs, one for the Savage XL Nitro, and one for the Savage flux?
I was always intending to get the Alza Racing centre diff, but will I need to change the TVPs to mount this up? Am I better off cutting my losses and getting the shiny new Alza TVPs from Dejan as well?
In the end I will have used very little of the original Savage XL roller in my project!!!
Thanks
N
The motor plate in it was probably for nitro fitment?

Sorry think pics broke for me, getting a double image

cant see a point in aluminium cvd's on a 1/5th, fair enough saves a few grams on the drivetrain but they'll get mashed alot quicker.
-
Sorry don't mean to sound pompous, but brought up with principles which i always stick to. That said I wouldn't make promises I could not achieve, I will however buy from them if they get chip and pin. In the meantime I will keep looking elsewhere if something comes up I will buy.
Instead of wasting YOUR time driving there why dont you just buy it online and save us all the hassle? Baffles me how your determined to waste travel time & fuel to stick a piece of plastic in a machine.

Ive only ever used Hostile or TFE bearings branded too fit in the Hostile hubs. Maybe there are slight differences in other brands if it isnt?
-
Odd problem, i had a job getting bearings in brand new ones.
Are they the standard bearing or the over sized version?

Just taking the pee

Where's.... Where's the tread?

Slop isnt always bad. If that was a tight smooth fit, you wouldnt notice any difference at all.

Those Picco's are sweet. Loved mine, always started without fail.

Do you know the weight of your truck?
Does it cog badly at the start with completely fresh charge?
HTF did you do THAT?

We used to have a cat that had 3 legs most of its life after someone ran it over, you'd be amazed at the heights and areas he could get to with 3 legs
