  1. Hi all I know its been asked a 1000 times before but i'm thinking of converting my nitro Trophy to electric. What motor/esc combo's would you guys recommend for just general bashing. Cheers Mark.
  2. Can any of you clever people point me in the right direction regarding converting my nitro trophy to electric power. What would be a good motor and esc combination and lipo size. Many thanks Beano
  3. Thanks for the advice guys its appreciated. I've got a few 3s 11.1v lipo's so the 1060 could be the one and for 18 quid its cheap enough.
  4. Hi all I've just bought a vintage sand scorcher which is missing its old mechanical speed controller and I want to fit a modern ESC. I'm sticking with the stock motor but was wondering which ESC would work well with the stock motor. Mark.
  5. Thanks for your thoughts guys. Done a bit of research into the quicrun 1060 and it looks quite good for the price so i've ordered one.
  6. I've just bought a SCX based D90 that is in need of a decent esc, I want scale crawling so I will be playing with the gearing but what esc would you guys suggest.

    KM X2

Selling my X2 due to not having the time to use it. I bought it last Christmas and have only ran one tank of fuel through it. The body has a joker designs body wrap and it has an upgraded air filter and beefed up outer bead locks on the wheels.Comes complete with Flysky radio and kill switch and a box of bits which includes alloy clutch housing, spare shock towers, tools and nuts and bolts. Total outlay was £730 selling for £500 so no silly offers please. Item location is in Coventry and payment via Paypal.
  11. Joker designs do good wraps i've got their rockstar wrap on my KM X2 and it went on very well took about 4 hrs to do but looks good.
  12. I also fly model aircraft as well as mess with 1/5 scale stuff and a member of our flying club almost lost his house to a lipo fire. He was charging it in his garage turned his back on it for 15 mins to find his garage which was joined to his house well alight so be warned.
  13. We can talk about clones etc all day long but in the end its all about having a hobby and having fun on a budget we can afford.
  14. No just comes with a standard 30.5cc motor the big bore kit is an add on.
  15. Funny thing is that I've been using mixing bottles for years for chainsaws and leaf blowers and never had a problem.
  16. Interesting comment there Andy about accurate fuel/oil mix but surely with these engines if the mix is a few percent below or above the 25:1 ratio it is not critical unless you have a race built and tuned engine. I would say the quality of the oil would be as critical. Mark.
  17. There is no low voltage cut off on the receiver thats why you must fit a kill switch, this will detect loss of signal due to low voltage from both the Rx and Tx. I would go and buy a fuel mixing bottle if you didn't get one with the truck they are only a few quid but will help you get the petrol/oil mix spot on. As for the wheel nuts try measuring them.
  18. Hi Jack I've had my X2 for about a week now and I have to say its a cracking machine, the latest batch that is on sale now are the best yet so I'm told it was the earlier production batches that had problems. No its not a Losi but its not far off I had a look at a 5T today and the X2 is very close regarding quality and finish. My X2 came with a load of alloy hop ups as standard which the Losi does not. Ran mine again today drove it hard in thick mud and did a few largish jumps with it and no problems whatsoever no leaky diffs or anything. If your on a bit of a budget go for the X2. Mark.
  19. I thought I would order some bling for the X2. So far I've fitted all the alloy hop up parts that came with it and added alloy billet shock towers, yet to fit DT1 air filter, DDM intake stack and outerwear filter cover and a body wrap from Joker designs which is for the 5t but who cares. I'll post a picture when its done.
  20. We will have to wait and see, hope to give it a bit of a bashing on Sunday.
  21. Managed to get the X2 break in complete today, ran the truck around at slow to moderate speed for a tank then upped the speed a bit for the next one then let rip with the last one. I must say the truck is superb the last tank was a blast running on wet tarmac had it power sliding all over the place. So far no problems no leaky diffs or anything. Well happy. Mark.
  22. Many thanks for your input lads its appreciated. Mark.
  23. Just been watching the ORB engine break in video and it seems i've done it right according to them. As an engineer who has worked with all kinds of engines over the years I think I've got an idea on how to do things.
