  1. Hi Guys, Just what it says. A set and a half of HPI Phaltline on-road tyres on Blast wheels. One full set has been de-chromed primed and painted, with the tyres taped with 2" fibre glass Duck Tape and 3 rings of Kevlar. Whole lot re-glued with StarLoc Flexi CA. The other half set is as HPI intended them. The whole lot is brand new. never hit the tarmac. If you wanna know how fast your MT or truggy will go, these babies will get you where you wanna go. They'll never balloon or come off the rims. This is the best pic I have at the mo' but if you're interested, shoot me a PM and I'll take a few more. I'm looking for £40 for the modded set and £60 if you want the raw pair too. The raw pair alone £20. That's including postage, by PayPal I've also got a set of monster foams for the truly dedicated speed nutter. Once again, shoot me a PM if you fit the bill. Cheerz! Rootz
  2. Thanks mate. Cheerz! Rootz
  3. Ulp! Feels like I've someone's posted a pic on Facebook of Mrs Rootz sunbathing topless. A kinda mixture of pride and embarrassment! LOL Complicated? Shomplicated!! Actually, the plans for the next car couldn't be simpler. No suspension and a very simple transmission. Should be good for 175! Cheerz! Rootz
  4. LOL! In case anyone's interested, the liquid cooled set-up is from TCS.. http://micropumps.co.uk/index.html Cheerz! Rootz
  5. OMG! So many comments. Don't know who to reply to first! Thanks for the good wishes revorocks. The motor is a Neu 1521/1.5D. I believe it's the same as Nic Case used for his 161mph run! I understand that there's no current record for an open-wheeled nitro. Guess it's a new class and nobody's set the benchmark yet. I guess whoever gets there with a decent buggy or truggy is gonna end up being at the top of the record sheet. there's a reference to a bloke called Mel, whose Hong Nor CR FT was clocked at nearly 75 in 2008. Not sure why that's not an official record. I'll see if I can find out. Here's a good vid to give you a taste.. http://www.youtube.com/user/MelSavageKiller#p/a/f/1/acdHwSQe3zs Cheerz! Rootz
  6. Slayer?? How very dare you! LOL Yeah. I've fitted Slayer suspension arms - Idea was to reduce frontal area but it restricts the steering quite considerably. There's a lot of experimentation in this game. The tyre are actually wrapped with Kevlar - HPI Phaltlines are really limited to about 65 on their own, say 85 taped. Not sure what'll happen with the Kevlar. Yup. Those tyres are mainly for testing. I've got a set of massive foams for the all-out runs as I don't really expect them to last more than a couple of runs. The biggest challenge is keeping the thing straight. The gyroscopic effect of the motor rotating makes it veer rather dramatically. Maybe I'll take a video of a clock during my runs in case it makes time slow down! Cheerz! Rootz
  7. Heh! Yeah. If you try your 18t pinion and a nice small spur you'll get a decent speed. Cheerz! Rootz
  8. RW Racing do Savage CB's up to 19 teeth. Neil at RW may be able to sort you out. Then, I believe, there's the two-speed conversion. Don't forget you can fit a small spur too. Most important thing is to make sure you know what DP or MOD the gears are. Probably 32DP which is more-or-less the same as 0.8MOD but might be 1.0MOD. Cheerz! Rootz
  9. Hmm. You sound like a typical speed racer! LOL Cheerz! Rootz
  10. Yeah, no probs. So long as it's radio-controlled, you'll be able to run it. You could just turn up and, so long as you pay the entry fee you'll get plenty of runs. We're planning to have a big speed display so you'll be able to get a video of your vehicle and the speed. Wouldn't be a bad idea to sign up to the site and let Ziggy know you'll be coming. Cheerz! 11. I think it would depend which version mate. The overall layout looks good although, how you'd fit 4S in, I don't know. Suggest you change your tyres if it's one of the drift TA05's! Cheerz! Rootz
  12. Yup. And the trend looks like it'll continue. There's scope in large scale if you want to tune a 4-stroke to billio but there are inherent problems with nitro and speed records. That said, it can be just as much fun watching a 100mph nitro car screaming past as a 100mph electric. Although the electric record is 161, we have yet to see a 120+ electric run here in the UK. I expect we'll see that barrier broken this year. I'm sure the rocket will satisfy our need for outright speed... s'cuse the languidge. Cheerz! Rootz
  13. Well, maybe next year, eh? We've got people coming from as far afield as Deepest Darkest Suffolk and last year we had entries from Malta and Sweden. This is really the European Championship. There's a meeting in the US and this one and that's it, really. I'll post a link to a video we're compilation but I can't guarantee it'll be like you're there! Cheerz! Rootz
