  1. Hi there, I'm want to recreate this on a porsche lexan shell. Im not sure how to create the colour tho? Flat orange backed in red maybe? Has anyone done this or know how it can be done please? Also, if anyone knows where I can get 1/10 scale wheels like those (period Fuchs from 1970 odd) then a link would be awesome! Im trying to recreate my dad's 1972 911.... cheers!
  2. Sadly not. Thanks though. I've ordered a Losi one until I can find a better one. Will keep an eye out for the LC racing one. Ta.
  3. Thanks. I don't suppose you would know who stocks them in the UK?
  4. Hi there, Does anyone know of a better motor mount set for the Mini 8 Truggy ?? The threads on mine do not seem to last very long at all and I don't over tighten the screws. Any ideas? Thanks, Ewan
  5. Hi there, I'm in need ot a servo mount for the ion buggy but I've no idea what will fit without having to chop things. Does anyone out there know what fits? Initially I just want to put the original servo back in but as I am putting brushless in I cant use the original combo esc housing. Any ideas? Thanks! Ewan
  6. When i want to drive slow i take my Hotshot out! Ha! Looking at a brushless set up for it on Hobbyking as I type actually. I will try and remember the temps this weekend. It's mental on a 3s... I actually have a leopard can and a velineon to try in it, which I will do at some point when I have the time.
  7. I can't remember the last recorded temps to be honest but I should be out this weekend so will try and remember to take some readings (memory like a sieve so no guarantees I will remember!) I run it mainly on tarmac, gravel and a bit of short grass and have never had any issues. It does cog a little but Im not really bothered about that. I don't absolutely cane it, im very careful when I drive. That said, I dont drive it slowly either. Maybe I just got a good one! lol.... I'd definitely get another one. It's great.
  8. My two pence worth. I bought the Truggy brand new. I love it. I've bought a fair few bits as replacements (motors, esc) after reading various posts etc and thus far haven't had to replace anything. It is still stock. I run it stock on 2s and 3s and never had any problems with the motor, or any over heating. I do not run on grass though, as that does cause issues with stock set up on Lipo. The only thing i do use are different wheels and tyres, just because I think it looks better with them than the stock ones. Oh and bumpers from Tbone.
  9. Hi there, I have just installed the radshape rc hotshot suspension kits (front and rear) to my Hotshot to find my stash of old Tamiya yellow shocks don't fit. Can anyone recommend any inexpensive decent enough replacements in the UK? I don't want to spend much and I only use it for bashing around. Any links etc would be very much appreciated! Thanks. Ewan
  10. Ta! Might well consider that then. Cheers!
  11. hmmm interesting. I just found a Venom Racing fireball that's a 370. No idea if it's any good though. Do yoo happen to have a link for the hobbyking set? Ddnt think it would be that cheap....
  12. Evening all, Can anyone recommend any good upgrade brushed motors (for speed) for the Ion? I don't want to go brushless, just a straight swap brushed motor. Any ideas? Ta!
  13. OK. Makes sense. I will get what you suggest. Many thanks!
  14. Many thanks for the info, much appreciated! If the battery does not have a balance lead, would I just get a bog standard electrician's volt meter?
  15. Hello all, Can anyone recommend a good cheap volt meter and a good cheap temp checker in the UK, both for checking lipos, motors and escs? Many thanks!
  16. I'm thinking perhaps each Lipo in a Lipo bag or case, then inside an ammo can with air flow and perhaps some bags of sand on top in case of fire, fire melts bags and sand helps put fire out? I have to be extra cautious as I have nowhere outdoors to store them?
  17. Thanks for those replies. I've been looking at ammo boxes actually. Would those cheap bags be OK or are they a case of "you get what you pay for", IE, buy more expensive ones? Thanks.
  18. Hi there, I'm just looking into storage solutions for and there are so many storage / charging bags around ranging from
  19. Sounds good! Any running videos? I'm glad it's worked out OK. My pinions arrived from the US today so I will at some point be putting the Velineon in and the Hobbywing ESC. I also picked up a Leopard motor as well to see what that's like. I also got a couple of 2s and one 3s lipo so will test them out next weekend on the stock electrics then with my replacements....see what happens!
  20. Can't help you with the Traxxas stuff I'm afraid. I'm just using the normal Losi spurs...
  21. The ally parts look nice. Might have to invest at some point.... Although not yet I've already spent a fortune. .... Please do let me know how you get on! Just remember that you need the correct pinions at 0.5 mod......
  22. Thanks all for the info. I have a lipo charge bag etc and am storing in metal tin etc so safety-wise I'm OK. Will read up some more on charging. Cheers!
  23. Hi! The shaft sizes on the stock and Velineon motors are different so the standard pinions will not fit unless you want to go reducing the shaft diameter on the Velineon. Standard is something like 2mm and the Velineon is 3.15mm. You will need to buy some mod 0.5 pinions for the Velineon. RW racing do some apparently but I've just ordered some Novak ones off Ebay in the US. I've yet to fit my Velineon into my Mini 8T as the pinions haven't arrived yet but I'm lead to believe it's a straight fit but you'll need at least 17t pinion so as to avoid any trimming apparently. Please somebody correct me if I am wrong as do not want to mis-advise, but the above is what I've managed to find out thus far....I hope it helps in some way.
  24. Hi there, I recently got back into R/C after about 25 years of not owning one (always had Tamiya....) , and so far I've just been using the standard chargers to charge my batteries in my Maverick Ion and Lose Mini 8T. Please be gentle with me as this must be such a basic thing to ask! I currently have one Maverick 7.2v nimh 800mah in my Ion, one Dynamite 7.2v nimh Speedpack 1200 mah in my Mini8T / Ion and have just purchased one Dynamite 7.4v 2S 30C lipo 2000 mah Speedpack with a 3C charge rate for the M8T. I also bought a new charger, Overlander RC6-VSP as it charges all the battery types etc. I've searched and read what I've found, and I've attempted to understand the manual for the charger but I'm used to the old days of NICad when it was simple and my fast charger simply ran for 30 minutes on the selected voltage. Please can someone either advise or point me in the right direction of some comprehensible documentation that explains the settings I need to use for my batteries in order to charge effectively and safely? I believe the charger can save settings for 5 batteries for charging, discharging and storage charging too which would be awesome. Any advice or info from those knowledgeable (or anyone owning this charger!) would be gratefully received! Many thanks.
  25. Doesn't look like it. I've ordered from the US now. Fingers crossed they get here OK......
