I'd suggest a Tamiya Baja Champ (TL-01B) for the following reasons. Second hand they cost pennies They are incredibally simple by design They are suprisingly strong They are very easy to switch to a touring car should he get bored of it being an off road vehicle it's a 4wd so will handle well but very easily converted to a 2wd if you want to pick up the pace and such. Upgrades are plentiful and cheap Most importantly in my opinion though, if you want to keep him interested in something it's worth buying something he can look back at and remember and love in the future. Some cheap piece of tat from one of the many other manufacturers out there that brakes all the time and is a complete money pit won't really bring back fond memories. Good luck all the same

Woops i deleted the pics from photobucket by mistake. I will add more when i go through the build and restoration process. I've decided to try and fit some oil shocks from something like a mini-t to it just for a giggle and maybe upgrade the motor in it. I am slightly tempted at the idea of getting the stock guts of an old mini-t and throwing them in there. What do you guys think? I have opened a wanted thread for donor parts on this. If anyone has any of the above they wouldnt mind chucking my way please let me know.
