  1. Photos are very usefull, thank you. Tried and failed, i'm simply no good at fiddly stuff and a soldering iron... not as easy as I thought!
  2. Thanks for the reply... Assuming im an idiot (which may be true!) and with the absence of any obvious markings.... would anyone speculate as to which wire goes in which contact / hole
  3. morning all, long time no visit! A spot of help if you could, the boy (5yo) has fried the wires & capacitor(?) off his maverick rc truck ESC I have a soldering iron but need to get the right wires in the right holes, could you kindly advise? the wires on the lhs in my hand are off the motor, the ones on the rhs from the batt. from top to bottom we'll call the "holes" 1,2,3,4. The capacitor is also only attaced to one hole... Huge thanks in advance.
  4. Could be interested in the strada, could you please sned me some more info / pics etc... Thanks you to all who replied, appreciated
  5. Had a few nitros and got shot, want to get a lipo set up for me & the boy (4yo) to use. Ideally... a truggy / truck anything from 1/18 - 1/16 4wd or 2wd FULL SET UP INC TX/RX batts & charger Good / excellent condition Reputable brand (available / chap spares) Easy to work on Cheap! Let me know if you're looking to shift something on... otherwise I'll just get him a new HPI recon!
  6. Getting back into rc with the boy (4 yo) having previously owned nitro, we've just had a little RC boat and he loves it! would love to get back into nitro but for ease, cost and safety ive got to go electric Looking for an off road vehicle, 2.4 GHz, 1/10 to 1/16, completely rtr, branded (for spares / upgrades), great condition, can budget £100 absolute max. anything out there?
  7. the hdi venom is great... thanks! got it and purchased 3 batteries, perfect for the boy. steering servo is weak but loads of fun for what it is... looking for a step up already (for me )
  8. All the work that went into this and I flogged the little bugger! whats on the market for a small, powerful, nitro nowadays?... or maybe fir ease of use for my 3yo, a *shudders* rtr lipo?
  9. Thanks for the replies all; I went for the venom.... $27 delivered (from china); instructions are hilarious looks & feels pretty good to be fair. ive got another two batts on order too. just got yo wait for Xmas now
  10. Just seen a UDI venom which looks interesting, not the faster but simple & small.... Any experience with these?
  11. Evening all, i used to post on here quite a bit having owned Nitro trucks (hpi trophy, Schumacher rascal, mta4), never owned lipo. the boy (3yo, 4 at Xmas) loves wayching RC speedboats at a local lake, with Xmas around the corner I'm thinking of getting him one, a "toy" is not what I'm after. key features.... small simple self righting rtr im thinking this & I'd be grateful for your advice, thoughts, opinions & suggestions... http://www.modelsport.co.uk/proboat-react-17-self-righting-deepv-brushed-rtr/rc-car-products/405135 thanks in advance. edit - I suppose it is a bit for me but something we'll do together and he will pick up the controls soon enough, he's been riding a bike for almost a year!
  12. Selling up again, never use my beloved trophy truggy. Im selling it to my boss so want to make sure I get a fair price and he gets value for money, your thoughts on the "deal" pease.. Latest trophy truggy, 2.4 ghz, absolutely mint condition, 2.5 l fuel thru it, well maintained and spotless. Original tx. New chrome dish mt wheels n tyres. Hump pack n charger. Alloy steering n throttle horns, good ones! Good hitec servos, 9 & 16 kg. Edit chrome pipe. Good original shell, painted black. New un used custom shell. All black with hpi graphics. Body pin holders attached to shell. Extras... ARO, AFO, Shock oil, threadlck. Glow starter n charger. 6 glo plugs. Glow plug n wheel wrench. Spare body mounts n suspension mounts. Suspension spares including 3 new shock caps. Spare exhaust. Fuel filler bottle. Few tanks of mt 25% big bank, 2.5l mt 25% fuel sealed. Instructions n DVD. We've agreed
  13. Things to upgrade sooner rather than later... Shock caps. Steering servo (put the original steering servo onto the throttle / brake assembly) Hump pack. Everthing else will be fine for the short term.... I saw a huge difference when adding a tuned pipe.
  14. New 1:1 for me which has kind of scuppered my RC plans. Been running a losi micro T with my 2 yer old daughter, a lot simpler that the trophy!
  15. Has the stoke on Trent / Fenton contingent died off now? Does anyone get out anywhere still? Shame if so, I want to try running the trophy whilst we've got a bit of summer left. Would a change of venue help re kindle things?
  16. I started from nowt with a Schumacher rascal... Plenty of advice and hours spent on here! Try to understand the car first, I.e. trace the electrics, understand how key systems work I.e. the needles, engine, brakes, clutch, steering etc.. I'd reccomended taking your car apart then re building it with thread lock added to all metal on metal screws. Once you understand the basics of your car it's a lot easier! And if you're unsure ask on here before trying something, I've made a few expensive newbie errors.
  17. Just go and see some nitros running and you'll son realise that it's the right choice! I quite often just fire mine up for that real engine buzz!
  18. I think you'll struggle to get a decent fit with all the contours on an rc shell, I've tried to vinyl simple shapes and it's very tricky! Can see it lasting too long either, one skid onto the roof will tear it to pieces on Tarmac or gravel.
  19. I paig 200 for a minter like that so well doe, mine literally didn't haves mark on it and still needed running in.
  20. They look to be a great truck with this being a particularly nice example, can't see why they're not more popular!
