  1. So just to finish off this thread, I got my Tamco TAC330 2.4Ghz radio there on Monday aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it worked! So I think as I said above the radio packed in causing the car to ramp off the road onto grass instead of the actual landing causing problems. Ah well, back in action now
  2. Hi, I have the Acoms Techniplus, which I've read has caused people problems. I was convinced it couldnt be the radio as I was holding it at the time and didnt drop or anything, it was just the car that landed on grass, so thought it would be a huge coincidence that the radio would give up at that time. I just really hope its the radio now as I have bought a new receiver, new crystals (not sure why really), even a new TEU101BK and none of that worked! I have ordered a Tamco TAC330 now, its 2.4Ghz. The Techniplus was 27AM. I think I bought the Techniplus at the time because it was cheap, guess you get what you pay for. The TAC330 wasnt much more expensive but reviews seem ok. Still find it strange that with everything on, the led flashing but if you do something like flip the N-R switch the steering servo will twitch, so something is happening somewhere. Unless.....the radio packed in causing the car to lose control and go off onto the grass.... I cant remember exactly what happened but it was a bit of a strange crash.
  3. Nutty professor I'm in Donegal. So I think I'm goin to try and buy a new radio and hope that is the issue. Although I had been thinking about buying a new car too... Our new house has concrete out back and gravel so was tempted to go for an off roader but not sure. So anyone recommend a good but not too expensive stick radio? Also stupid question no doubt, but does it matter what radio? i.e will any radio work with my tt01d?
  4. Might just bite the bullet and send it back to msuk and pay them to fix it. Doing my head in at the minute. Pity I don't know anyone else with a RC car!
  5. By radio gear you mean the transmitter? I don't see how that could have got damaged, was in my hands any idea why the steering jolts when the channel switch is flicked over and back?
  6. Really old thread I know but I never got any further with this Still beeps anytime I switch it on having the transmitter on. I've bought new crystals, new steering servo, new receiver new teu101bk and none of this has worked! Really confused as to what the issue is. One slowly strange thing is that when all is switched on if you flick the channel switch over and back on the transmitter the steering servo does move slightly (but actually using throttle or steering does nothing) so it seems to be picking up something from the receiver. Like I said in the he OP the car just went off a step and landed on grass, wasn't a hard landing so not sure what could have happened. Transmitter should be fine. Been messing trying to sort this today again and getting frustrated.....again!
  7. Sorry meant recevier in the last comment. (Receiver connected to the four battery power (new batteries), steering servo connected to recevier and using the radio). Looks like recevier thats gone. Cant make it steer at all! So looks like I need a new recevier. Any suggestions? Or any other suggestions for something for me to try? I had an issue before with the steering. If you steer right then let go and let it flick back it might straighen up again but if you let it gradually go back center it wouldnt straighen. I tried trimming etc but nothing worked. Could this have been all part of the same issue do you think? I bought a new steering servo a while back but that didnt cure it.
  8. I have the trasmitter connected to the 4 battery thing for power and the steering servo connected. But it doesnt respond properly. Sometimes it responds, but not correctly and other times not at all.
  9. Yeah it is indeed. I basically have everything dismantled at the min. The beeping is because of the motor isnt it?
  10. Hi guys, I was messing with the car earlier and accidentally ramped off a step and landed on grass. I have crashed the car alot worse before but this time the light on the TEU101BK was flashing and was beeping. I checked connections and I cant figure out whats wrong. I've been reading manuals all evening and none the wiser. Any advice on this or has something gone? If I flick the switches at the bottom of the Acoms Techniplus controller the steering jolts but wont respond to actually moving the steering stick. Any help would be VERY much appreciated. Chris.
  11. Any way of telling which? Don't fancy buying something else and finding that doesn't fix it! Don't think it's as bad as it was but still def not right. Cheers for the replies TiM, much appreciated.
  12. Ok guys, got the Futaba and dont think that was the entire problem! I switched the channels on the servo, so the steering and throttle were switched about, I know it was probably a bad idea but wanted to test. Anyways the throttle was now the steering and this way the servo movement was perfect, centered perfectly each time I turned left/right and let go. And turned the same amount every timd etc.. What have I missed?!
  13. Cheers TiM, I might order that one today, tried a few more things over the weekend with the car, takin the servo off, switchin on the radio and car then centering. Still no good. Could be driving turn left fine, turn right fine, then go left again and basically just go in a straight line.
  14. Thats the one thats in it I think, dont have the best of confidence in it after that! Dont mind spending a bit more to get a more reliable one but nothing overkill.
  15. Tried a few more things and sometimes the steering is fine, next thing it will only turn very very slightly left. Do I need to get a new servo?
  16. Cheers. Done that but doesnt seem to work. The servo itself isnt turning well at all, with everything off, It was before!! Is it just a faulty servo? When I turn left it turns slightly, turns right ok, then if I adjust the slider on the control and its seems to turn ok, well a bit better. But once everything is back together and the car running the steering is rubbish again.
  17. Hey guys, Having problems with my TT01D. I had problems with the steering before and its got worse. Now today it only very slightly turns left and turning right is only a bit better, battery is fully charged too. The servo seems to turn fine on its own.... Driving me mad here!
  18. Got my Mustang GTR Shell, its nice, problem is the holes dont line up with the 190mm chassis, I had posts that went back further which I thought would have made it fit but it looks like I'll have to drill new holes
  19. Ahhhhhhh, that would be it. Cheers TiM! ....dont know how I missed it.... Might manage until I manage to think on what else I need/want to get, order it along with it then. Drift tyres possibly, proper paint to replace the paint which is falling off my shell at the min (coming off cleanly though).
  20. Still enjoying the car. Had it down home at the weekend. Load of space on tarmac. Great craic! Got my '(HPI X-Pattern D Compound Tyre on TE37 6mm O/S Chrome Wheel', 4 of them. Cool tyres and wheels. The Mustang shell is in the post. Small mishap yesterday Was putting the antenna down on the radio and the top part bent and broke off Do I need to order a certain antenna or will any one do? I notice it screws out.
  21. Just an update. Got my TT01D all setup now and loving it! Painted the shell with normal off the shelf paint. It isnt too bad, few knocks have knocked some paint off though but I had planned on using this shell for messing around/bashing. I've ordered the wheels I mentioned, 6mm offset. Went to order the Mustang shell and the guy on eBay was charging 15
  22. A guy on eBay selling HPI gear, said to get 6mm offset for the front and 9mm offset for the rear if I was getting that shell for the TT01D.... Any ideas why 9mm for the back? I thought the shell looked the same width at the rear as the front.
  23. Woops! Yeah meant wheels! Yeah cool, I'll do that. Ok, I think I'm done with questions now, until I get it and end puttin something in the wrong place! Cheers again Garry, much appreciated.
  24. Cheers Garry, yeah was readin up on it today again. Figure it was around 5-6mm. I rang MS today as the RX7 kist wasnt in stock and wouldnt be in until next week at the earliest so got the supra kit instead, only difference being the body and the lights. Wasnt totally keen on the RX7 and I'd be gettin a new body anyways and the LED lights I'm not that pushed on yet. Its being despatched now so looking forward to the building process! Going to order that Mustang GT-R body also and some normal on road tyres. Is it best to get and offset set of tyres or an offset kit? I've looked around for add ons that offset the tyres, so I could use my drift tyres with new body also. But I couldnt find much. Seen some examples, some looked like washers and others were rather large with screws.
