Alright Rik!
Depends what you're doing with them... If it's for dirt and grass, and on one of your Nitros, then I'd stick with unbelted, apparently they handle much better that way - the firmness lessens grip and weight's no good for handling. Straight line speed will be more stable belted though, but at a price..

i dont think the clutch shoes are made of plastic. i see you have the reverse module, could it have got stuck in netural maybe
Make sure the slipper clutch nut hasn't come loose and is slipping
Yes, they are plastic - http://www.hpieurope.com/piw.php?lang=en&partNo=87151
Also, if the slipper was loose, then it would make life easier on the clutch...

Looks like clutch shoes to me... I think I'm right in saying that they put plastic ones on the RTR's, which are best replaced by something like the red Hong Nors.
EDIT- Here's the shoes http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hong-Nor-Super-Long-Life-Alum-Clutch-Shoes-Red-/400260969878?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item5d3169b596#ht_1597wt_1344

Hello there!
Here

Savox 0252's are nice, perfect for t/b and reasonably priced.. A 1256 might be a bit overkill!
-
IMO Power HD are a bit hit and miss.. I reckon that Cirrus (made by Futaba) are great for lower budget servos, the CDS751MG would suit you well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cirrus-Ripmax-CDS751-MG-440751-13kg-cm-Digital-Servo-/380389220983?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item5890f6e277#ht_1403wt_1110
