  1. Maybe the idea was there but a bit impractical. Nitroholic, do you have to fit an adapter to use FG monster truck wheels on the Baja?
  2. lol....it'd look pretty awesome with blackouts all round But I was thinking prob just the rears.....
  3. Hi, Has anyone fitted Maverick Blackout MT wheels to a Baja 5b? And if so, were there any problems.
  4. Bugger, just had another look at the product. In big red letters WILL NOT WORK WITH CHOKED CARBS what a dunce!
  5. Hi Nitroholic, It's a DDM 3/4" from Freeprawn Racing.
  6. Hi, I want to change my air filter on my Baja. I have bought a velocity stack to fit which will enable me to have a choice of filters. However.........I tried to fit the stack yesterday but once fitted it obstructs the movement of the choke. I have tried to establish (via Google) if this is ok and normal, or if I need to order a particular stack but seem to have hit a dead end. So my question is. Can I fit my stack or not? I don't want to ruin my engine so I refitted the original for now. Thanks in advance for any help. Please ignore......Topic has been resolved.
  7. Thanks, Nutty Prof, TT-01 diffs fit the TT-02 ? Do you mean the whole assembled diff (the bell shaped housing with the internals). Built it ball raced and have alloy prop on order. Are uprated shocks a good idea?
  8. Hi all, Need some help. Built myself a TT-02 and fitted an 8.5T brushless motor. Powered by a 2S 1300mAh li-po (just to road test) its very quick. In fact it's so quick the tyres are becoming a problem. They are deforming just above half throttle. So a coulple of questions. 1) Is there anyone who has had this issue? 2) Are there banded tyres that lessen the deformation? Any information would be helpful as I seem to have hit a brick wall.
  9. Thanks for your post logik, I am having the same problems.I'm not new to this hobby but this Brush/Brushless ESC was not the way I wanted to go. I'm sure the product is good enough (when it works) but I would prefer to go down the Brushed ESC route to get me going, then if I choose, hop up to Brushless. Maybe Modelsport got a faulty batch and I got one to?
  10. Ouch! that hurt Exhaust sorted. HPI box style muffler, a silicone coupling, and a silencer. Runs lovely and much quieter, ideal. Now shock sox.
  11. Bit late on parade but YES they do work. I had a tuned pipe which was far to loud for running around most places. Replaced it with the stock HPI muffler added a silicone pipe (to couple the two) and a stand alone silencer. What a difference. Haven't noticed a change in performance because these petrol monsters are so bloomin fast ! Maybe one day I'll want more and more speed, but when that day comes (it's still a long way off) I'll bang in a 30cc unit. What route did you go?
  12. Just a quickie, been out with the car today and managed to shake free the screw holding the throttle linkage to the carb Anyone know what size it is (was!) Looks about 3mm and maybe 6 deep (pan head) Can anyone confirm or correct my guess? Cheers
  13. Me again Well the 3GR solved my problems. No chattering servos (rock solid) and the Jolly Roger switches in and out on channel 3 just perfectly. Hope this may help save someone some grief when setting up the radio gear in a gas 1/5th..... Now on to the exhaust !!!! Far to loud.
  14. Turnigy 1270HV. 35kg at 6.0v !!
  15. I've got the flat ones on my Rovan 260S (inner and outer) fit lovely and look great. Don't forget to order their course thread screws, much better than the stock ones.
  16. Hi Jim46, I'm still in the process of checking my car over. I bought a Rovan Baja 260S. I've had it for a month now, I've found no problems, but I wanted to make sure everything is just right. My view is that it's a hobby and I intend to enjoy all the aspects. Take your time and get to know your car. I have a Switchblade from Jolly Roger. Lovely bit of kit. The switch is very easy to wire in and sits in the battery box nicely. I have drilled a hole in the top of the battery box to mount the LED. It's easy to see and function. Mine is on the 3rd channel of my Futaba 3GR. I'll be connecting my engine wires today and hope to have my first start later.......I'll also be looking into that braking mod from pistonhead, didn't know about that! Good luck.
  17. davemate, that's exactly what I want to hear. Some help from RC-ers who like to share their experiences. I'll check out the 3vcs Thanks.
  18. Sorry John, I suppose what I was trying to saying is that the receiver PCB bus (width and thickness) and maybe the component tolerances aren't up to the job. That 33kg servo sure sucks some juice. I substituted an AR500 and ran the servo pack up via my DX6i and the two of them worked fine, I can only assume the Core will be more suited to my TT01-E or DF-01 Had a look at your work earlier, Nice Models
  19. Hi, Having mucked up on my original choice of Tx/Rx I have narrowed my replacement down to the Futaba 3GR/R603FF. I can't afford to make the same mistake again so can anyone vouch for this combo. Is it up to the job, reliable etc. your feedback would be most appreciated. Cheers.
  20. UPDATE......... As no-one has commented on this post I can only assume I'm the only one with this issue. O.K. FYI, to the newbies who like me might also make this error, the suspicions were correct. The Core 152 receiver cannot handle the steering servo in a 1/5th scale. I hope the information proves helpful.
  21. Hi, I seem to have made a slight foobar on the radio front I bought myself a Core 151 / 152 combo from Modelsport and made the assumption it would be good enough to get me started with my new car. Unfortunately the 152 seems to struggle with powering the Turnigy 1270 steering servo. The voltage drop is switching the Jolly Roger switchblade in and out as it thinks the battery is dying and the throttle/brake Savox SC-1258 is twiching like mad! Battery pack HPI 4300mAh 6.0v is fully charged. Has anyone else had this problem ? I'm sub-ing an AR-6200/ Dx6i tomorrow to see if my suspicions are correct however I don't want to use that combo full time. I have selected the Futaba 2.4GHz 3GR/R603FF as a replacement for the Core and would be interested in reviews from any users along with any comments on my problem with the Core combo. Also if Lee is about, will the 3GR/R603FF/Switchblade be a working combo? Over to you
  22. If the Yama is the same kind of price as the Rovan, and you like to tinker, go Rovan. That's why I went for the 260S. It's a project as well as a hobby. That and the fact that the first thing everyone recommended doing was to pull it to bits and check it over. It's like a Rovan jigsaw puzzle. Great fun !!!!!!
  23. Cragester. What were your experiences with the Yama. I ask because I looked at getting one. Ended up getting a Rovan 260S but I'm interested what you thought of the car. Hyper-Boy is right, ask questions, the forum is full of members willing to help.
  24. I'd take chinese coke anyday. It's the real thing you know................ Much better value than that knock off american made coke. Which, by the way, is made in the same factory
  25. Finally sorted the picture posting thing. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/26947-/ http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/26948-/
