  1. Yep they will fit spot on. Another vote for 4s - on 6s mine ate diffs just for looking at it wrong. Ripped a couple of tyres too which isn't a lot of fun. 4s is plenty of power for one of these, plenty of top end and will lift the front up like nobodies business!
  2. Normally it's so filthy with mud and grime, that you can't see the details anyway! When I first got it, I was gonna spray the shell on the outside to cover it all up. Any paint chips or scratches would show the bronze/orange colour through, and it would look like rust. Cool effect IMO. Might still do it
  3. The axles will feel a lot better once they've been ran a couple of times for sure. This is the clearance on the steering on mine. Don't know if it helps? Your servo looks too far forward.. I run my battery up front, makes a big difference to the original position. I normally use 5000 3s batteries, but recently got some smaller ones that work well (2200 ones from my plane).
  4. Hahaha. I didn't do the original build and paint, I purchased it assembled but not ran from another member on here. The shell looks good except one or two odd marks with the pen which are on the inside New body is here though, fits like a glove
  5. The range is generally really good with any 2.4Ghz radio - easily hundreds of feet Thats probably not a big reason people upgrade radio. There's lots of stuff transmitters can do that the included RTR ones can't - multi-model memory, so it knows what car your driving and sets itself up accordingly. Additional settings to change the feel and response of the steering, throttle etc. And they are generally designed much nicer, I use a Futaba 4PKS-R for racing and honestly nothing else feels the same to use afterwards, in terms of precision, comfort, and the ability to use the radio to enhance your feel for the car your driving. Don't like using a really expensive radio outside for bashing though, and the GT3C is really nice to use for the money. Used it for racing for months as well. Strongly recommend it
  6. GT3C is a good radio set, I use one for all my outdoor RC's - its cheap and additional receivers are cheap as chips too. Just ordered some new bits for my E-FS, looking forward to the rebuild Its an original release from about 6 years ago so needs some refreshing. Ordered a new shell, bearing kit, rod ends and RPM front arms/bulkhead. Got a diff rebuild kit ready and some 25k diff oil. Realised that Team C Hyde CVD's fit the E-FS 100% as well, so that was a 'free' upgrade
  7. You'll enjoy the Leopard motor Its not really any more powerful than the Carisma one, but its so so smooth... And fast! Thumbs Design have 2.3mm pinions in stock, I think Tracksidespares got a delivery of them recently as well. Which ESC did you kill? I have one of the orange 60a hobby king ones in mine and it seems really sturdy. Never gets warm. But I've seen a couple of the Ez-run clones die pretty easy..
  8. Get some pics up of your progress, turn it into a build thread I think kit oil is 30wt, good starting point but I thought it was a little heavy.. If you have any, I liberally covered the shock seals in team associated green slime, to stop them leaking. It's like a thick grease that doesn't break down the shock seals. Apart from that, the stock shocks are good on these I'll find some more pics out later, mine gets covered in mud pretty frequently!
  9. This is my one, Recently brought a green Deadbolt shell for it as well, waiting for it to turn up. Would love a D110 body, but their so expensive.... Servo should be good, its a 13kg or so one in mine, has no problems for full lock even in the thickest of mud (And it spends a lot of time in mud!) This is the motor I use at the mo, Clicky I use 3s lipo (2200 - 5000 capacity, depends on how much time I have). It has great wheel torque and a good 'trailing' speed without ever getting hot. Just throwing ideas out there
  10. Just replying to the person asking about Badlands on the last page... their awesome for bashing around, I have a set that have outlasted the wheels their on (hex's strip eventually with a 5.5t motor and heavier tyres). But because the extra height you'll 100% need a rear bumper or wheelie bar for protection of the motor. Makes it lift the front easy. I tried my E-FS on the track last summer with a few different tyres. It was pretty good on some Schumacher mini-spikes, but horrible on Badlands and Dirt Hawgs, unsurprisingly! I have an 8.5t I'm gonna try on 3s lipo next time out. Was going to sell my E-FS in favour of a Team C Hyde I recently got in a job lot, but can't bring myself to do it Not a lot of faith in the Team C truck, plastic gears and a ball diff with 3s?
  11. Mine is orange with a black roof, the roof is painted on the inside so it still has a glossy finish. I haven't upgraded to a 4 link front yet, but its next on my to-do for sure. Most of mine is still kit, I've fitted some softer springs (Team Associated T4 rear green springs) all round, with 20wt shock oil. Fitted a couple of alloy bits as and when small parts have broken, but its been really good out the box... Best thing you can do is fit a nice high torque steering servo. Its like night and day with these things And waterproof all the electrics, so you can really go offroading, without having to worry about frying anything
  12. Nice crawlers Wish there was more interest in crawling competitions/chilling out locally..
  13. You've picked a good kit, I've done very few mods to mine (same kit) in the 8 months or so I've had it. Its one of the best RC's I've owned without question
  14. Short video I put together from some onboard footage with my new Phoenix 2000 plane, on its 3rd day out. Great beginners plane
  15. Its a cheap hobby compared to some others I got back into RC big time last year, and went from a 'couple' of cars I'd held on to for years, to a pretty sizeable fleet (15+ at one point). I re-discovered racing and got really into that, so my focus shifted a bit. Downsized my collection a little to make way for more race-orientated cars, its nice to enjoy both. Just started learning to fly RC planes, ordered my 2nd one last night, OH NO ANOTHER ADDICTION! But its fun, you learn stuff, and meet people, along the way
  16. For some reason when we was on the slope the camera only recorded 3 mins of the first flight, so it missed the whole time we was in the air following each other That would have made for some fantastic shots. The video from the day before is too low detail/resolution to really see much, i'll have another look through it Was a 'literally epic' weekend for flying So much freedom when your in the air!
  17. ^ Thanks for sharing my vid Mark Slope soaring is pretty wicked, its amazing how long you can stay in the air just from the updraft off a hill. On my first attempt at it, yesterday, I only brought the plane down after 30 mins because my fingers were going numb! You get a crazy effect when you circle back round the hill your on too, where you go speeding towards the hill, then when you arc back towards the slope, its like you hit a wall in the air and all your speed just drops, and you just slowly float back out. Really different experience to powered flight
  18. Seems to be a popular option Most people seem to run the pro pistons with them I think?
  19. Ran on a really fast layout today with 15/66 on the Leopard motor, and timing at 18 degrees. Not short of speed at all, enough for a podium in the A Gotta order the harder springs though, reckon they'll make a big difference..
  20. Thats encouraging, I run 15/70 on a Leopard 5900kv, but have a 66t spur ready..

    what radio

Cheap radio's are fine, you won't get the same response, feeling or comfort as you get from a mega expensive set, but you will get a radio that works well, barring any odd software problems. I recently upgraded from a Flysky GT3C to a Futaba PK4S-R for racing, and I literally can see the difference in my lap consistency, but I still use the Flysky for my rock crawler and other bashing cars. Its absolutely fine and a good deal lighter than my Futaba so well suited to that
  22. Had enough of all this holiday period nonsense, time to get back to some seriously serious "Was that me sideways on the wallride" racing!
  23. Definitely the carbon ones, especially the extra thick Thumbs ones, are the way to go. Strong but so light still! The standard ones seem to break quite easily at the front, but the rear holds up well.
  24. Struggling to think of an advantage? I've done everything from National level racing to backflips on insane jumps with mine, not broke a carbon tower yet (Thumbs Design ones).
