  1. Arms are sloppy as hell, these will be kept as spares but want to get my baja sweet.
  2. Thought i better update this, since anyone who's been following my thread will surely be biting their nails waiting for my update... Anyway, here it is. I sent a load of parts down to Rob to have anodised blue and red, I'm opting for a blue and red build to try and install some uniformity on my build, since it did get to be abit of a fuster cluck of parts. I also got my replacement bracket from GBE and got it fitted, the couplers provided didn't suit my side bleed so i've used a DDM dom one, does the job nicely. It's still not perfect, going to be getting some black arms all round and perhaps some black windows. Waiting on some new wheels and beadlock, that will fit in with the theme also...
  3. I can do a sneak peak, this is all for now though, take out if this picture what you will
  4. Now that'd be telling Carl! Jesus Christ my work top is a mess....
  5. Two updates in one day, aren't you guys lucky? I was literally bored earlier today and looking for something to do so i decided to check out my clutch, y'know just to make sure everything was in order and to give it a blow out with the compressor.... Yeah, it wasn't in order A wee tad worn.... Thankfully i had a spare ready to go on. I also fitted the carb that i got from Andy (Biscuits), it's a 668 with bearing mod. Feels alot smoother than my old one, so hopefully will get a crisper throttle response, it also has a funky upside down choke lever that i can see causing me alot of confusion
  6. Your baja goes like stink by the way If you're looking for a fit and forget part there is only really one option and that's the TR quick Diff.. http://silverbackrcproducts.com/product/turtle_racing_quick-diff_transmission_housing_raw_finish_/
  7. Yesterday at Crimdon with NEB was a bit of a pain in the backside, between my dodgy soldering coming apart and wheels screwing up i only managed a tank and a half or so. Before i went down, i fitted my replacement IRC front shock brace, in red, naturally... I think i am gradually working my way to having a red baja. It won't be long before Rob @ IRC gets a wee package with a shed load of parts to anodise Like i said, yesterday my soldering kept coming apart, it's never been my forte to be fair. I recall peruzzo saying it's some of the worst soldering he's seen, i don't think it was that bad but meh A wee bit of running repairs on the kill switch, i had to have it re soldered to the coil, the micro deans and also to the switch itself, i'm thinking my iron is to hot for the wee wires? So yeah, other than the soldering issues the first thing to go was a wheel, my rear hub bearings are as close to collapsed as you can get without actually being collapsed as a result things are getting a tad hot and wheels are failing, these will be replaced before my next outing however. I was forced to fit some KM wheels (as the spares i thought i had we're actually SC/T wheels).... and they literally lasted around 10 minutes before they prolapsed everywhere and spewed their guts. I've actually never seen that happen to a wheel before, so i was quite proud, my next life goal is to do that to a silverback wheel.... i could be trying for a long time My exhaust flew off as well, nothing a couple cable ties won't fix, the bracket it actually broken which is a pain but i've gotten in touch with Gabe at GBE to see if he is able to offer a replacement, if not i will need to have one fabricated. Gave it a quick blast with the compressor when i got home, all it deserves after behaving like a 3 year old brat yesterday
  8. New radio box lid fitted, this is the one made for me by Lea, 1WheelOnly. The LED is huge! . Really chuffed with it, never had a kill switch status LED before.... blue is run, flashing is killed and off is... well, off.
  9. I think we're going to take the bajas out tomorrow so we decided to spend some time just tweaking them (or in my case rebuilding). I've put my old radio box lid back on whilst i wait for my new one from Lea. Replaced the fuel tank breather as i managed to snap my old one in half despite it being inside the case and also re run all the fuel lines, in a lovely blue. I also fitted my plunder from my raid on Silverback HQ, nothing too much a nice yellow monkey nut and a 5imian wheel for the spare wheel as it looks a tad better. I also had to resoled my killer buzzer back into the dean connector, that was quite fiddly. Dad representing...
  10. I got chatting with Lea (1WheelOnly) with regards to a different power switch in light of my problems at the f-pit, we threw a few ideas back and forth and the next day he sent me some photos of this, kill switch LED and everything! Can't wait to receive it and finally have my switch where i want it, and working as it should! Thanks muchly Lea. I started de grassing today as well, during which the old man noticed a 'wee' bit on bendage up front... Might be warranty time  I also fitted my Swingy P Turnbuckle Tethers, perfect colour to fit my scheme. Also went raiding to Fort Silverback yesterday and looted a couple wee goodies that i am going to fit soonish
  11. I know man. You could try it can see what happens of course. But when I read up on them (after buying) there's been a fair few on fire..
  12. In all honesty mate i wouldn't be trusting it with that amperage running through?
  13. First things first because i'm really disappointed and i don't like being disappointed. This switch is terrible - http://www.modelsport.co.uk/etronix-power-switch/rc-car-products/378995 I wish i'd read up on them before i bought it, it was causing my failsafe and kill switch to kick in after only a wee while of running, i removed said switch and had no more problems with k/s or f/s. So yeah, it's garbage (Americanism). Avoid it, stick with stock or just replace the switch with deans, i'm thinking about doing so... I had a good day of running anyway once replacing the switch, no other breakages managed around 3 tanks, almost lost my baja a few times in the grass  , i guess you could say it was like trying to find a baja in a haystack Had an interesting moment too, Billy had rolled over, dad went to try and roll him over.. He didn't succeed and ended up stuck, so i tried to hit dad to free them both and this happened...... Dad had a good days running too, he managed to break this though.... All in all a very good day, no repairs needed, a good bit of degrassing but thats about it. Over and out!
  14. I've been told it always draws a little current, so you should disconnect it when not in use if you want to avoid your battery going flat, not an issue for me i charge the day before i bash..
  15. Fitted a new switch today which allowed me to blank off the gap in the chassis usually used to access the switch. It's an Etronix one, ET0775 - It has low voltage cut off built in so it's a step towards lipo power. I've ran all my cabling, kill switch and also on/off switch through the wee gap that is usually occupied by the standard power switch on the radio box, quite a tidy wee job imo. The light on the switch also tells you what battery percentage is left by changing colour/pulsing.
  16. Re soldered my kill switch connections, used micro deans this time - hopefully they stay put... Also fitted my replacement servo saver this morning and as per Daves advice i put plastic rod ends back one, there is more slop than before when i had alloy ones, but nothing to cry about
  17. Quick chat with David and a replacement is on its way. Going to look at putting stock rod ends back on. I'd rather pop one of them than blow a servo saver. Thanks once again Dave and Turtle Racing. Wonder if Integy would offer that service? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  18. Total chancer here, but do you fancy selling 2x rear hubs?
  19. Crimdon bash today and dads maiden voyage with his new baja! All went well for the first tank or so, baja seems to be handling better with the alterations i have made to the set up, can't wait to get it onto some grass as opposed to this hard packed stuff Crimdon has to offer. Few action photos More can be found here - http://s615.photobucket.com/user/Ahongus/slideshow/Crimdon%2022-6-14 Couple of minor things went wrong, initially some poorly soldered kill switch connectors gave me grief, nothing abit of bodging, cutting and splicing couldn't fix! But then i let Howie drive and he some how managed to leave it looking like this... With a front end in that sorta mess i'd usually look straight away at the turnbuckles, but they were fine, it wasn't until i looked closer i noticed he'd managed to kill my TR servo saver. Gonna take it apart, take some photos and see what Dave at TR has to say, i've no concerns at all about this being sorted out one way or another (Wouldn't get the sort of service the likes of TR offer from Integy, for example). Bajas are going to sit for a couple days til i can be bothered to getting round to sorting mine out, dads seems to have ran ok, bar a couple wee niggles but nothing major, his was the last baja running, slightly weepy head gasket but that's not a big fix really.
  20. Gutted to read this thread, but i think the other guy just didn't know what he had.
  21. Me? Mean? I thought you knew me better than that Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
