  1. Just seen this. I've got the same starter box and have no idea where to get parts from. Had any luck?
  2. anyway, like I said really strong and well made. Also, there's alot of setup info. on the web. But trust your source first. Some people on (other forums) don't know what the're talking about but claim the be THE CRT guru! One thing I found out. Don't get cheap ebay bearings. They are crap!
  3. I've got one of these engines and it's almost rebuilt but never run. Lost interest I suppose.. I found out that Peak and Dynamite took over this engine so you can get parts to fit for these identical engines (branding excluded). When I first got my engine the conrod had punched a small hole in the crankcase. I bought a Peak crankcase with bearings and it fits perfectly. Let me know if this has been any help and I might be able to find more info. for you.
  4. It must be slipping in the diff. I checked the other gears, shafts and pins and everything seems right. I'll try a different bolt and see what happens. Thanks everyone for your help.
  5. Any other ideas why its slipping? What grease should I use for the diff balls and thrust bearing?
  6. the picture didn't come out. i'll try again So, with the out drives locked the spur turns the shaft.
  7. No, I've taken the gearbox out, rebuilt it with the silicone grease on the balls and thrust bearing. Put it back together to find the same problem. The gearbox is now out again. After re-installing the gearbox and finding out it still slipped, I took it out. With the gearbox out of the car as above, I locked the 2 out drives but could turn the spur gear easily. The spur is turning the shaft, it's not loose in any way.
  8. there's no slipper on the rascal. Probably needs one though!
  9. yeah, clutch was the first thing I checked. A weak point on the rascal with the needle bearing. But the cluch is fine as the spur turns at the same speed as the engine.
  10. thanks djyjrlz tried that and it still slipped, car revs but no movement. I took the gearbox out and locked both outdrives with screwdrivers through the outdrive slots and I could turn the spur gear by hand easily. This even happens if I tighten the diff as much as I dare (grub screw and allen key).
  11. Hi. My diff is not working in my Schumacher Rascal. The car just revs with no movment (not in neutral and the hand brake is off...) I've rebuilt the diffs in my X1 CRT and Stealth XB but I've not rebuilt a ball diff before now... It didn't go well, worse than before. What type of grease do I use? I had a go with some generic silicone grease on the balls and it slips even better! should I use a different type of grease on the thrust bearing? I've read the manual and it said to use Shumacher silicone grease, would that be so different? Sorry if I'm being thick.
  12. Sorry if this has been resolved before. I would like to stop glueing my tyres on and get a decent set of wheels and just change the tyres. Anyone make them in the bigger sizes for a buggy/truggy? Would finish off my X1 CRT with painted glass body and make it look sick! I do not understand the americans....
  13. How on earth can you pick on someone's thread for being pointless when most of us are adults playing with little cars?
  14. Maverick stealth XB .21 Still going strong, no idea who made it. A real screamer
