Hi everyone,
Thanks to all those that helped.
Took the car to a FG Doctor today and think we know what was causing the gearwheel to break teeth.
The FG gearwheel part has changed recently to a thinner gearwheel, I noticed this when I changed the first broken gearwheel. What I didn't know is that you have to adjust the engine position slightly to accomodate the new wheel.
My gearwheel had a gap that was too big, causing it to break teeth. So you guys that suggested mounts could be the cause weren't wrong, but it seems it was the incorrect mounting of the engine (too much of a gap) that caused the problem.
I was told that when the new gearwheel is on he car, I should loosen the engine mount, tip the car on to the back wheels, and then tighten it for a perfect fit.
Has anybody else heard of this method, and is this how you should fit it normally?
Thanks
