as others have said, if its running good for you, leave it bee! i had a stock zen 26 that i had for about 10 year, used it regulary, only thing i did was a piston ring change after about -5 years & a head gasket ...other than that, a new spark plug here & there, never any issues...just make sure head bolts are checked regulary as with it being 2-bolt...have a tendency to come loose if not properly tightened

Hi guys Im waiting for my DBXL to be delivered which is mostly stock except including the servos & engine except for 1 or 2 parts & it has a samba pipe Anyway i know FG's inside out as ive owned my current FG for around the past 15 years & is heavily hopped up (part of the fun for me!). But away from FG im like a small fish in a big pond so to speak, so what id like to know is what hop-ups are a must for the DBXL to make it strong enough for a decent bash? So far after spending countless hours googling & youtube ive come up with the following: Alloy Chassis Brace (front & rear) Alloy Front Shock Tower Alloy Clutch bell carrier Alloy Upper Front chassis tower Alloy Engine mount Jofer Chassis Skid Plate set Alloy Servo Horns Would this be enough so i can begin to give it some abuse ? Ive been thinking of the Area RC Alloy (has a choice of red colour to so this is a bonus for me as i like to add a bit of colour!) ...Is the Arera RC decent quality? As Ive been told to stay away from FID alloy fpr the DBXL as its poorly designed/weak? Any info much appreciated Thanks!

Hi guys, what engine for the dbxl is best, im hopefully getting a dbxl soon which will all be stock except for a samba pipe and upgraded main shafts, i been thinking either the zen 290 or 320, which would be best for the dbxl as price wise they are very similar, will it be just a straight swap with the stock 23 thats already in the dbxl, or would is there a mod i need to do to make it fit etc? Thanks

here you go mate: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Set-Gelert-Strong-Duffle-Holdall/dp/B00BZ6UKVW Size:W 95 x D 40 x H 40 cm like i say, it fit my FG monster in with no probs and the dbxl will be slightly smaller than my FG as the monster rims on my FG are larger than DBXL rims so the dbxl should fit in it no probs, ive had the bag about 18months now, no tares or falling part, very good bag largescale for the price EDIT: ok the one i have is the blue/black one which is now discontinued it seems & been replaced with the black one, same size etc and im guessing the quality will be just as good (or better) infact i might even buy another one myself as ive been meaning to get another for my sons FG lol

Getting my 1st rc (was a tandy yellow jeep thing that had a hi and low red coloured switch on the back end underneath to fo from 2WD to 4WD when i was about 7! From then on... Hooked! :-)

I see no harm with a variable speed one just for taking out the slack, but id do it by hand to finish off as to not strip or round the screw etc ;-)

Seems decent bit of kit, price they say about $99 so about £70 made ny a company called hilantronics in aus, heres vid for me, just the external mounting factor is a bonus

Hi guys, just a qucik one, my fg fuel tank has a yellow tube and black one going to carb, can i replace the black one with the yellow type, as the yellow fuel tubing seems much more solid, the black one seems very flimsy and thin casing compared to the yellow type? Just wanted to check imcase they different in some way? Thanks :-)

Hi guys, just wondering will the switchblade KS fit inside the fg radio box, cuz at the mo my fg radio box is pretty full as i have the power switch mounted inside it to? Would i be better off buying a bigger radio box if so any ideas? Cheers :-)

hey kev As someone said, you must have fell lucky & got a good one! Ive helped a few friends out who have had headaches getting them to start (usually because of the crappy unbranded carb). For roughly the same money though you could pick up a KM which is much more reliable & better built, but also hop-ups are an issue for the yama, even getting a tuned pipe to fit can be awkward as no one makes a pipe for it so you have to mod one to make it fit. But at the end of the end of the day, it works for you so enjoy it fella, if & when the time comes you need to replace parts then id defo think about putting the coin towards a used KM/FG/HPI etc instead

sucks when things like that happen, especially after travelling miles! i bet if you carried a spare of whatever broke, then summit else would break instead that you dont have a spare for! lol

This sounded like you didnt want to tune the carb so was asking if stock settings were ok which was why some of us replied about tuning! But still same answer from me, if your asking if stock settings are ok to use then im guessing its cuz you want to leave the settings stock? why would you want to use stock settings with a modded engine and im guessing you got a tuned pipe to, it will just gimp the performance! Tbh i too am a bit confused lol
