  1. Hi all, i am still in the breaking in stage of my hyper 7 and i have a question or two. I have run five full tanks of fuel through now and the engine seems to be getting better at idleing and responding to the throttle etc, however i am just wondering when it is time to lean of the rich factory setting for the fuel mixture, as the exhaust is spitting a bit of fuel out. Is this normal? How many more tanks of fuel should i run through before making the fuel mixture leaner and start really reving the engine. any advice please? cheers
  2. Hi all, today i bought a futaba tr rx chraging unit and i have a few concerns! 1) in the instruction manual for the charger it says the rx LED will be red during charge and green when charged fully, my concern is i have only had the 6v battery pack on charge for 5 mins tops and the LED is green! The 6v battery (rx) canr be fully charged cos i have only just bought that today as well. 2) am i correct in thinking the following for polarity, red to red and black to black? 3) i also had a fail safe device fitted at the model shop today, will this device stop all communication between the buggy and the handset? cos i turn on my buggy (rx) and turn on my handset (tx) and absolutly nothing happens!! it worked fine before i got the fail safe fitted! 4) and finally, on the futaba charger there is no LED illuminating for the tx charge, howeve the batteries for that are fully charged hope someone can help me out here, any advice would be most appreciated for a newbie like me thanks
  3. Hi all, i am new to rc nitro buggies i have got a hyper 7 that needs running in, first of all is it ok to run the car in the rain? as it is always wet in the north of england and 2nd does anyone know of any good places or clubs i can join in the north west of england (lancashire)? cheers
  4. hi all, i managed to snap the aerial on my handset during a wrestle trying to stall the engine as it screamed at me there is approx a quarter of the aerial in tact, will this be enough to operate the car until i can get to the model shop for another aerial? cheers
  5. will it damage anything if i keep pulling the pull start with no glow plug in? is there a chace it will loosen off?
  6. the pull start is only stiff on every fourth or fifth pull, the other pulls are easy, is this something to do with the position of the piston?
  7. sorry i wasnt very clear in the last post. I meant should it still be stiff to pull even when there is no glow plug in? im just sat here with it on my lap messing!!
  8. ok thank you very much for that advice, i was hoping somebody else had experienced the same as me. Im not confident enough yet to take things in bits i think il just make the assumption that all is ok and i think i will invst in some of them throttle return bands cos i dont think my sprinting can match the hyper 7 please could you advise me on priming the engine, what is best, blowing down the exhaust or covering the exhaust and pulling the starter? Also should the pull start be quite stiff to pull now i have cleaned the engine up and got rid of surpless fuel etc? the piston moves up and down when i pull the pull start, is this a good sign? thanks again! much appreciated
  9. after the first incident when it screamed like mad, i just packed the buggy up and brought it home, but i tried it again when i got home and it started but did the same again (screamed), i just left it after that so im worried about starting it up again next weekend thanks for your help
  10. ok thanks for that!! ther is no documentation included for the handset so i wasnt sure, i charged the batteries for 12 hrs with the handset charger but i had doubts about this anyway!! back to the wall charger!! thank you for your help!
  11. ok thank you!! hopefully it will just be the batteries that need a bit more charge. How will i know if the engine is damaged? wil it not start at all? will it make oises etc? cheers
  12. im not sure about the trim setting to be honnest, i just cant work out where it is supposed to be on this handset (ho bao ht-2) it is just a dial that turns clockwise and anti clockwise with little indication as to which is high and which is low and which is medium for that matter i will check and see if the servo screws are tight, it was bought from the internet so it might be tricky to return it im hoping it is something and nothing like the batteries not being chraged enough. I have bought a charger that plugs into the transmitter as opposed to a wall charger, am i correct in thinking these take longer to charge the batteries than a wall charger? would a flashing red light on the handset indicate a not fully charged set of batteries? thank you for your help!
  13. hi all, iv just got a hyper 7 tq sport for my birthday, however my radio equipment seems to be doing strange things. After connecting all the batteries up in the buggy and in the transmitter i then switch them both on but i get the servos moving (a jittering type movement) without me touching the throttle or the steering. Im not sure what to think, any advice would be much appreciated please?? thank you
  14. Hi all, it was my birthday yesterday and my girlfriend bought me a Hyper 7 TQ sport (.21) buggy. I am not completely new to nitro cars but amongst experienced people im a mere beginner so here i am asking for some much needed advice On the break in i somehow managed to loose complete control of the buggy and the engine screamed like mad for about 20 seconds!!! until eventually cutting out (it was getting louder and louder!!!!). WILL THIS HAVE DAMAGED MY ENGINE??? I think the trim setting on the transmitter caused the engine to do this, or does anyone know of any other reason why the engine would scream like mad?? Any advice please would be much appreciated thank you.
