Hi all, what cell voltage is a flat battery? for example, what should each cell read on the volt meter? The battery is a 2s 4000mAh 45c. i have a feeling the battery hasn't been flat, it's actually been the ESC going into protective mode!!! And this seems to be a result of changing the wheels / tyres to pro line badlands. each cell is reading 3.58, is this flat or not? many thanks

Hi all, Are ESC fans worth having? Should I make the investment? I'm running the VXL / vileneon ESC. I only use 2s tho. when I run my 4000mAh battery I have no issues. However when I run my 5000mAh battery, my ESC goes into protective mode after approx 10 mins. The ESC does feel hot. I assume this is to do with the amps output of the battery, the 4000mah battery can provide 180a whereas the 5000mAh battery can provide 225a. Each battery is 45c. will an ESC fan prevent this or do I need to look at re gearing / changing my pro line badlands for the stock rustler wheels / tyres? any ideas please?

Hi all, if a charger says its 60w, for example like the overlander vsr mini. What does this mean? does it mean the charger would not work with a battery that was more than 60 watts? And to find the watts of a battery do I times volts by amps? so 7.4v x 10a = 74w for the Traxxas ID 1000mAh pack would NOT work with an overlander vsr mini as the watt rating is to high? Is this correct? thank you.

Hi all, see the attached image... i have marked in green the values I'm confused about. which value is telling me the required amps for the system? i get the battery ratings now, thanks to the help given on here. But now I want to understand things from the ESC / motor point of view. which do I pay attention to? The ratings for the ESC or the ratings for the motor? please help

I'm getting myself confused I think. so the battery is in demand from the ESC and motor? for example if the ESC and motor ask for X then battery needs to be able to provide X. The vileneon system for example only takes up to 3S. If I connected a 6S, what would happen? a - destroy the ESC and motor? b - the ESC would not recognise the battery therefore not work (but not destroy the ESC and motor) am I correct or way off??

Spoke to modelsport... they said I more than likely exceeded the burst and the ESC went into protective mode. If I had waited 5 mins rather than changing the battery straight away, it would have gone back to normal. they said 3.78v per cell isn't a flat battery. 2.9 - 3.2 is flat therefore I had another good 15 mins runtime. il try it again next week and see how it goes. many thanks everyone!!

Hi all, i ordered a 5000mAh 7.4v 2S Power Peak battery from modelsport. Did a balance charge on it last night. Went out this morning and I somehow got 10 mins LESS run time that I get with my 4000mAh 7.4v 2S Power Peak battery. both batteries are 45c. But why would I get only 14 mins run time with 5000mAh and 24 mins with 4000mAh? Both batteries ran on the same track this morning. Driving style the same. im baffled... any help would be really appreciated as always.

The vileneon is 200a meaning my 2S 4000mah 45C is under powered??? This is what modelsport sold me. Is this why I'm having battery issues?

What scenario would burn out an ESC? Sorry my questions seem daft!! I'm just keen to understand.

Going back to what was said about having the battery kick out a higher amp than the ESC... I'm confused to be honest. is the VXL ESC 150a? Sure it is. I thought this would mean a battery at 45C and 4000mAH (180a) would be too powerful and burn out the ESC!! Is this not the case?? what is the amp raring on the ESC then? proper confused;)

It's a Traxxas Rustler VXL. we run on a track, kind of bathers that like to race

So will the Traxxas battery last longer BUT have less power??

Hi all, The Traxxas ID Lipo battery I am looking at has a C rating of 25C. The mAh is 58000. It's a 2S. The Power Peak Plant battery I'm currently using has a C rating of 45C. The mAh is 4000. It's a 2S. What does C mean please? many thanks as always. wayne

Hi all, i want a Traxxas ID Lipo battery. Iv seen a nice 12000mAh 2S I like. however, what charger will I need? Iv got an overlander vsr mini. This surely won't work as the balance lead has its own port. The balance lead is built into Traxxas batteries. a bit confused tbh. i know there is a lead on model sport but can't see how it will help. many thanks

Id like to order both the ESC and motor from rc mart, is there a combo on there you can suggest please? Save me getting one from eBay and one from rc mart, would rather get both from same place don't know why...
