John Ramsay
My grandson's Maverick has developed a mysterious intermittent cracking, clicking or snapping sound. By disconnecting the rear wheel drives I have isolated it to the front end. It becomes louder and more frequent when accelerating sharply. The car still drives and there is no obvious damage to the front gears or dogbones that I can spot. However, he did break the plastic ring at the bottom of one of the springs on a shock absorber recently. Has anyone got any ideas what might be causing the noise?
