Have one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321505443090
Same chassis etc. I can confirm its cheap kids stuff. Only saving grace is the lipo tbh as it gives it a decent run time and a good wee bit of oomph.
Micro T absolutely beasts it on 2s tho. We had them in drag races and the T was off!!!
Tho they were and still are fun to race, but im just waiting for something to break.
There cheapo disposable RC fun. At -
At first, i thought this was how HPI were now packaging spares. Which if it were would be great!
If there selling these as accessories then sorry but F-O!
Can buy about 100x resealable bags for a pittance on ebay and indeed many other places.

10mins is a massive amount of time for a fire.
It would have engulfed the shed in less than a minute, the other 9 mins would have seen it almost liquify.
We do a talk every year for new employees on how fast fires take hold.
Theres a bit in it where we show them a group of people who were invited to a try a new ice cream. They werent, the fire alarm goes off instead.
It wasnt until someone put fake smoke almost 7mins in that one person gets up to leave. Its 20mins before the rest decide to follow as a group.
Fires take hold fast, so even with all that flammable stuff in there im not surprised it burned as hard as it did.
And yeah 10mins is a massive amount of time when this kind of scenario is involved. -
Fitted 3rd center driveshaft of summer then, had a faultless run!!
All Ive had is issues this summer, was nice to just get it sorted and running. -
Got mine out for a run today. Finally everything is in place and running smooth after my radio gear failing at start of summer, then all the issues I had with my 1st castle motor going thermo nuclear on me.
Runs a little hot as I aint using mechanical brake and am geared 17/48, but the motors taking it np and not tripping overheat on ESC. So am happy.
Out again tomoz if its dry -
Where ya get the T-Bones and Wheely Bar?
-
is it a common problem that the screws holding the front steering knuckles on fall out? the top one was gone after yesterdays bash
Never had happen.
-
Run a 2200kv castle in mine on 5s and 17t pinion and I get temps of 60-70c.
Ran a 2350kv Trackstar and even on a 20t pinion it took half to 3/4 of a battery before it got hotter than 85c.
Even then my ESC over heat just kicks in and I wait 10mins to cool. No biggy, or wasnt when it used to happen.
Castle motors run a bit cooler than most other motors, or have for me in the past.

Pure truggy ****

Good to see more D8T owners in the club tbh. Was worried that they were getting a bit out of date and out of stock in places.
Tho seems a nice burst of support for them again with the Tessman and folk getting the older models i assume a little cheaper.
Love mine to bits, the one RC Id NEVER give away. I know its just a shell but the look of it and the design of the front and rear arms just make me happy .
Need to beg/borrow/steal me a set of Joes tho.- 1

well i am rejoining the d8 club this time with a T it's on its way through customs as i type this.i have already ordered the RCM conversion kit however had a couple of questions what gearing should i run with a 2200kv motor and 6S? and are 3.8 badlands too big for the D8T??
I would start at a 15t pinion and go up in 1 or 2 from there. Found a 20t to be too much for 5s using a 2350kv Trackstar motor.
Tho currently running a Castle 2200kv and 17t pinion which hasnt topped 61c yet so think Im safe there.
Tho this is all 5s, not 6s.
Is anyone on here getting the tessmann edition or do you think its a waste of money
it came out yesterday
Not the full kit as i run a D8Te Tekno conversion, but interested in new parts. May hunt them down some point as hop-ups
Had mine out last week to get my Castle motor properly aligned and running, which I did before shunting it into a parked car and bending my main drive shaft for 2nd time in 2 months. So waiting on new one from U.S. at the moment. Hope its fast-ish as Im off for 2 weeks from tomoz and NEED my D8T!!!

Great Trucks, love mine!!
Goes like stink on 5s!! -
Mine broke after 2 uses.
Simply just would not send a signal.
Utter rubbish.
The GTC3 is the dodgiest one. The GTB3, not so much.
Id say your better of with an Abisma C.R.3.P. Based on same transmitter, but more reliable and supports the same RX that the Flysky uses. -
Damn it! Now I got drool on my keyboard!!
mmmmm Serpent Truggy...... -
Gratz Bez, bet your well chuffed with the result
-
Tis a fun build. I certainly enjoyed building mine.
You be running Nitro in it then? -
These bad boys need 5s min IMO!
Let's see that D8T with my new car at oxshott...
Km badger!!!
Yeah tbh I ran 4s and it was fine, plenty of speed etc. But 5s and it comes alive!!
5s with a good torque-ey motor and you,ll be laughing your nutt off!
Clocked mine doing 38mph on uneven grassland with a cheapo motor in it.
Cant wait to try it with my Castle 1515 in
Just watch the big longer drive shaft in the tekno v4 setup. Had one bend slightly, and cause of its size.
Centrifugal force being applied to it made it looked like some one`s skip rope when it powered up.

Personally I'd stick with the non touch screen. I haven't used it but the rc6 touch looks like a resistive screen rather than a capacitive one (like a modern smartphone). If it is resisitive it'll mark, frustrate you amd won't last as long as old fashioned buttons Of course YMMV, you pays your money and takes your choice.
I nearly went with the touch as it came with an XT60 lead - but there only a few quid to buy and I really didn't like the touch screen.
Same reason I went with the non-touchscreen version too.

Im in Southside of Glasgow.
I run mainly in Queens Park or Pollok Park.
Tho i do go to a club up at Silverburn shopping center (in a church beside it). -
YAY! New members to the D8T page.
Welcome lads.
As you can guess Im a die hard D8T lover.
I've finally got my own D8T now guys it's got a Tekno V4 conversion and right now in pieces after a strip down and clean. Now rebuilding it replacing bearings and as there are quite a lot of mismatched screws I'll be ordering quite a few spare screws. I can't find a screw set for the d8t anywhere? Otherwise everything on it is extremely solid and I don't see myself breaking anything anytime soon
What you running in it?
Just got myself a Castle 1515 2200kv installed and waiting on a sunny day to test run -
Tom,
Get the Overlander charger, rc6-vsp - it'll do nimh, lipo balance charging and works well off mains and 12v batt.
Best charger on the market, has built in PSU so you can charge at much higher amps. Think it,ll do upto 7amp.
Have one myself and one of the best buys Ive made this year.
-
I run off road and on road.
Drift aswell- 1

I know it sounds dumb and you know
Make sure it's on the Flatspot on the motor
Already done
Clean it with spirits first to remove any grease. Then use red and leave overnight.
Will do!
-
I always use Red on metal to metal,
Thought you was selling the D8T or is that someone else?
Nah no me Jony.
Your thinking of Bigjimknickers
Wont ever sell my D8T, especially with the recent 2014 version having been released
(Just as I thought the parts were going to be hellish to find).
But will try a smidgen of red in, think the torque is demanding it.
Not just LIPO's - It can happen to you!

The chain of Hotels I work for had this happen in a Derby Hotel. Blew the socket off the wall and a chunk of the wall with it.
Thankfully guest in room when it happened, But we turn ALL charging equipment off now, as unless your there to watch it.......
