  1. Thank's, I'm really after a stick pack to mount outside the reciever box, Just the H7 came with this little battery cap which can hold a stick pack of cells along side the sealed reciever box, I'm just after a battery that would fit within this cap so I can tape+screw it into place. And darn about the "no Tamiya connector" :/
  2. Go for the H7 TQ Black, I got mine just over 2 weeks ago and it also is my first every Nitro car, Brought the car basicly for the fact it was a very very high spec car for the money and with some minor upgrades can be made to really rip. Also the parts are cheaper to buy than they are for the Trophy (Which I was also considering buying till I looked over the H7) and you can upgrade the H7 with some parts from the new H8.5. Few words of warning though the standard servos supplied with teh kit are uter rubbish, the steering one just dosnt have the power to even turn the wheels and the throttle one on my car was faulty which was causing to wildly twitch making it impossible to start the engine. Very quickly I replaced the steering one with a high torque Hitec HS-635HB servo and switched the existing steering one with the throttle one so I could actually start the thing. Secondly is that the engine when new is incredibly tight, I highly recommend heating up the cylinder head for a good 5-10 minutes with a hair dryer for your first 3-4 tanks of fuel. Not only does this make the engine ten times easier to pull over and make it start faster it'll also save you getting covered in blisters and swearing at it. Great car, Have fun with it, I'm just starting to lean mine out and running it on some 25% fuel and it's really starting to show it's performance, All for under
  3. Grrr yes, The battery arrived this morning and it's far to large for the car, I tried removing the existing compartment and trying to find a way the thing would fit but alas it wont unless I cover half the chassis in duct tape Anyways any ideas what battery I can use which would fit within the H7's battery compartment thingy majig that you have an "option" of using, I'm preferably looking for one with the receiver conection and the usual Tamiya plug to it so I can easily just plug a charger into it without having to remove it from the car. And ******* that the Fastrax failsafe still isn't instock on the MS website...guess i'll Ebay it, We stock some fail safe units at work but there all over
  4. Thank's, Iv'e got a new 3300mAh 6v pack on it's way which should hopefully arrive tomorrow along with some higher % fuel. I'll give your advice a go, If I run into any more problems I shall come back here
  5. For my Hyper 7 TQ black. Cars running just fine and i'm starting to lean the engine out but with the improved speed i'm noticing the brakes are barely working at all. I've not touched them from stock settings as i'm not entirely sure how exactly to set them up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am currently unable to stop the car except from lifting off the throttle and turning tightly in circles lol. Pictures would be very helpful if you have any too :]
  6. Just wondering if these items would be fine for my Hyper 7 TQ which is currently all stock. Battery for the car as i'm currently using the supplied 4 slot AA box. Would this one be fine for the car? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=...mp;ItemID=30260 Failsafe, Because I don't want to lose the car, Is this one compatible with my set up? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=...mp;ItemID=23628 Byron's Nitro fuel 25%, I'm breaking my car in on Model technics 16% but iv heard alot of bad things about Model technics, Will 25% be ok for the engine (Hyper 21) also is there anything to be aware of when using a higher % fuel, Such as will I need to completely empty the tank of the existing fuel or is it ok to mix them? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=...mp;ItemID=29618 Thanks, Sorry i'm a total n00b with nitro cars and i'd just like a second opinion before I lay down my cash for some extra parts :]
  7. Thank's for the reply Chris i'll give that a go if the weathers decent after work tomorrow. And i'm sure hoping the pull starter stiffness dissappears after some engine run in as it aint half giving my wrists a lot of pain...Damn skateboarding injuries rearing their ugly head again after 5 years :[
  8. Hi Just recieved my Hyper 7 tq black the other day, Upon recieveing it I set the whole thing up and had the plug on charge. Afew hours later I was ready to take the thing outside and begin breaking the engine in...However first problem arose the pull starter was almost impossible to pull to the point it really felt like the cord would break. after a quick disscussion to one of the Modelsport techs on the phone he advised I heat the engine up with a hair dryer for awhile. So I did that and it lossened up abit so I could pull it without risking breaking the pullstarter or blistering my hands to a crippled mess. Ok so got that out the way, Primed the engine but didn't flood it, Did NOT touch any of the factory set needles on the engine. Popped the working glow plug into the top but left it unscrewed about one turn and put the starter ontop to get it going. Pulled on the cord near on 20 times but nothing, I gave up as it was getting rather dark and figured i'd take the thing into work to have it looked at there. So took the car into work and had my manager take alook at it as he seems pretty good at pointing out problems. We primed the engine and set the car up to turn over the engine. Again the pull starter was incredibly tight and everyone in the store who had any experience with nitro engines said they've enever seen such a stiff engine before, Of course it didnt start again. Which was then when my manager pointed out that the throttle servo was twiching like mad which would explain why it wouldnt start as the engine just didnt know what was going on. Upon removing the affected servo and switching the steering one with a Hitec HS-635HB hi torque one and took the existing steering servo and put that on the throttle. Once set up and put back together and 2 pulls on the pullstarter the thing fired up!!! great!!! Jobs a goodun I thought and put the car out back and figured i'd better do some work. Once I got home with it I thought i'd begin on the breaking in procedure, Got the car going with afew pulls again but even lightly touching the throttle or break cuts the engine out, How do I stop this? Sorry i've gone on abit and im a total new comer to Nitro engines as i'm only used to electric ones which was when I was a teen. In short, Will I be able to send the faulty servo back to Modelsport and either get my money back on the thing or get a replacement? And how do I stop the engine from stalling when pulling the throttle or break? Shame my introduction in Nitro cars hasn't gone as smoothly as I hoped :[
