i think ive got a bit too mental with this build

    emax 250 pro frame - but actually a 280

turnigy multistar elite 2204 2300kv motors

    either 5x3, 5x4 or 6x4.5 props

    1300mah 3 and 4s packs

    hobbyking qbrain 4x20a esc

    500mw 5.8ghz with 420tvl camera

on 4s the damm thing nearly took off when i armed it, and the motors span at 15% throttle, its going to be so damm fast im scared of the trees it hits gonna break

  2. Right, time for rave and rant about my new favourite flight controller, the Naze32.

its being made by some guy who calls himself 'Timecop' he is more into flying these things for fun, rather than photography, so he had a falling out with DJI, and he says it doesn't work with any current, past or future DJI frame.

its basically a multiwii board, with a faster processor, and a smaller layout, the multiwii is a great platform and both this and the multiwii can have sonar, gps, compass, barometer for an all singing and dancing control board, but for me, I only need this for some stability, all in the thumbs. It also has the ability to use a OSD, although i haven't got it working myself yet, Frsky telemetry built in, and a voltage sensor, so it can warn on low voltage.

Its a fairly cheap controller, and can be purchased for as little as

  3. if you are making a diy quad, there are really easy ways of getting loads of range, just not really that legal in the UK

i wanna use 433mhz 1000mw for my transmitter, and 800mw 900mhz for the video, with that setup, i should have a good 6-7 mile range if i use decent antennas

  4. Long range FPV aircraft, although not entirely legal frequencies may be used.

433mhz 1000mw for the radio, 900mhz 800mw for the fpv, ardupilot 2.5 ideally for the brains, maybe even customise the radio so its got a telemetry downlink through the radio, ideal range is 10 miles, ideal flight time will be 1hr

  5. Weight is just another way of measuring the thickness of shock oils, but unlike CST, weight isnt a standard, and varies from manafacturer.

most shock oil is from 5-60wt, what is about 250-800cst.

for a fg, you might want something like 40wt in the front, and 15-20 in the rear, what is about 450cst front, and 300cst rear.

anything more than 1000 is used in the diffs for a car, and is usually only in CST ranging from 1000cst all the way up to 2.5 million cst.

    tight squeeze these mini quads

    ibcMxtsz9Q1N5l.jpg

    compared to my H quad

    iHDaKuWzJxfaf.jpg

    things to do-

wait for new motor and esc to arrive

    configure naze32 control board

make sure all my FPV gear works

configure MinimOSD to work with the naze32 board

fly that thing into a tree or something trying to do some sport fpv flying

  7. Due to me not using it often, my increasing focus on racing, and growing interest in aircraft, im selling the hong nor.

Used to be Bez's, until he sold it to me for funds for his chaser project, comes with everything you need to run, apart from radio gear, but i have a modified DX3S + reciver i could sell with it for an extra
