I run my max6 at 7.4v with the stock rx and stock servo not had any problems so far with it .. Manual states 4,8v -6.0v though for the 6533 so if you do run at 7.4v its at your own risk !

Hi, old post, but maybe you can share your insights - did traxxas receiver survived the 7.4V? I got a mean servo, good for up to 8.2V, but looking for info if traxxas receiver can survive it.

Its a balloon to keep the ubec inside it dry, its for my steering servo

Ubec supplies higher voltage directly to receiver which supplies voltage to servo. But can standard receiver handle the 8.4 volts?

Yea I just dont get why theyre popular when theres an off the shelf proper wide kit that does the same thing properly but hey

I use GPM extenders, because they are made from steel, not aluminum - thus after more than a year they have no wear on them. Traxxas original aluminum ones tend to wear down rather fast to a point where i ether loose a pin or have to file them to replace the bearings.

I bash and speed runs, but i like going fast, the temp doesnt really get up that much in summer here tbh  😂 its Scotland.

not sure what you mean about the mud flaps and anti roll bars, i am running the pos mud flaps with the arb’s without an issue if thats what you mean?

Yea i mean sway bars - how do they take the bashing? they seem flimsy? Do you actually feel the difference with/with out them?

Thanks! That would have worked too but ive ordered everything now, the Servo, fixings and cables.  How much change would you like for it? Once ive got all my bills taken care of, i may still be able to buy it off you as a backup Servo.

Any change will do since its used 🙂

Got 3 full sets of packs through the xmaxx today and so far so good with the 1650kv 4985 hobbywing motor and max6v3 esc, i am running a 50t spur and a 20t pinion on 8s and the highest temp i seen doing back to back speed runs (for pretty much a whole set of packs) was 49 degrees c. I really think it may be possible to run a bigger pinion but i am happy with it the way it is

I had temp issues until i replaced stock motor fans/cooler. Im just curious whats the weather temp now? In January? You might get temp probs when the temperature goes up in summer.

P.S. could you link anti roll links and mud flaps - would be an upgrade to my truck 🙂 do you bash or only go for speed runs?

I cant find that Servo 😞

I def need another Servo, turning of standard one is terrible!

What volt are you running through your receiver, i hear 8+ V will fry it (assuming you are using the standard traxxas receiver.

Do you have any Servo recommendations (unless you know of a place to buy the Dmond)

https://www.monsterhopups.de/HSPEED-HSP0025-HSX501-Monster-Torque-Digital-Servo-72kg-X-Maxx-XRT-Maxx beast compared to Traxxas 2085X . Running it with the stock receiver, so its only at its minimal power, but difference is huge - speed and power!

  8. I bet there are many SkyRC fans/users here. Just got mine and tested (battery meter) brand new lipos. Red the instructions several times, but could't find any info on what does the red numbers mean? I guess its bad? Is this function trustworthy?

P.S. never expected that it would be this hard to unplug balance plugs from the charger, i could barely do it  with my fingers... Maybe its just because its new? Or i have bought siht extension cables?

Ive never had an issue with the pin method on 5x X Maxxs and 1X XRT. I genuinely really like the stock motor set up.

Same here until recently.... Now i scraped the pins and actually get better results - runs with significantly less noise and no broken gears so far.

Yeah looks bit too expensive and its traxxas, they fail at gears.

I got GDS M1 Spur and Colins Racing pinion. Ill be going 20/46 as i know someone who runs it without any issues.

Next month ill get some more colins pinions, id like to swap between 18/54 and 20/46

    Thanks again

Make sure your gear mesh is tight! Too loose gears break fast.

Haha, maybe punch 4 then, id like to try it though. GDS are regarded as high quality so im surprised its a chinese company. I just need to know what mod1 gear company to use where parts are available in the UK

Recently i have ordered this M1.5 cant wait to try it out 🙂 And my bad, confused GDS with GPM..... Yea GDS is US based company, GPM are Chinese,  but both are solid.

Have you seen the Max 6 G2? its as powerful as the Max 5 but in the size of the old Max 6 V3.

With the max 6, what would you say is the best Mod 1 gears (ratio and make) to go for? And what Punch are you ising on your Max 6, id love to go Punch 5 but i hear it strips gears.

Im from Sandwell and i find it difficult to find the gears online as they are all american based, i found some GDS gears on ebay but most of them are chinese sellers which surely means its all counterfeit? I thought GDS was american so why would chinese be selling it, if you know what i mean.

    Any help appreciated, mate.

GDS actually are Chinese. Punch is rather individual and depends where and how you run your truck. I would say offroad high punch is useless - truck just skids around uncontrollably, on road - useless since truck just tries to do constant backflip and wheelies uncontrollably. I guess i don't see any good use in high punch levels 😄

They look nice, but adding weight is a big no no for an Xmaxx, you end up breaking more. I had alloy hubs on my old X Maxx, theres no need other than for looks

Now im curious - cant find info on google - maybe someone owns these aluminum parts and can weigh them? I wonder what is the weight differents?
